"We had an extremely bad experience with Kaufman Roofing. We had a leak in our roof, and they thought it was most likely in our custom, built-in gutter system. They said they patched it up, but then it leaked the next time it snowed. In the meantime, they gave us a $30,000 estimate to have our entire gutter system, which is only 12 years old, completely replaced. Their estimator is a real bully and a horrible person to interact with. His name is Scott Wehrmeyer. He uses scare tactics, he talks over you, he’s impolite, and in our case, he didn’t even apologize for the fact that their patch didn’t even last one rainstorm. He just used it further evidence that we need to hire them to replace relatively new gutters. He never even got up on the roof to take a look at the gutter system or used a drone to take pictures or anything. He had one guy go up on a ladder in that one spot and take one picture and then say we need the entire system replaced. We eventually got it fixed with a reputable company. We got bids from several other roofing companies. Everyone else laughed at the idea that we would have a 12-year-old custom gutter system torn out and replaced for $30,000. They may have workers that do a good job, but I found Scott to be totally untrustworthy. I have never had to hang up in the middle of a conversation with anyone in my life, but I did with him. If I owned this company, I would not want him representing me. He’s a bully, he seems to be lazy, he doesn’t listen, he didn’t apologize, he just talked right over me and tried to scare me hiring him. Literally the total opposite of what any customer would hope for."

"In the summer of 2024, D S Construction replaced my old roof with a new roof. The project went very well from start to finish. The crew were efficient and professional and I am very happy with the appearance of the new roof. I look forward to working with this company on future projects."

"First Dave took days to respond, then roofing was delivered to the neighbors. Roofing was delayed, and i was notified the first day. The 2nd day i heard nothing from Steve and had to call to find out. I was told the driveway would be covered with tarps and magnets would be used to pick up nails. This wasn't done and i had to pick up 100's of nails myself from driveway and all around the house and neighbors house. Front and back steps weren't covered with tarps while roofing, so one had oil stains, the other brand new composite steps had gouges, tar stains, and a broken light. Corner piece of my siding had a hole put in it. My birdbath was also broken. Roofers left garbage all over the place. A few nails and little pieces of roofing were left on the roof after they were done. The office called before the job was completed to get final papers signed, i had to tell them they aren't done yet. Long delays and poor communication, a roofing job with soffit and fascia took about a month total. Corner siding piece was finally replaced, and a couple hundred dollars was taken off the price for the broken items."

"I first met Jeff Moore of Capital Siding, Windows and Roofing in 2018.  It was time to reroof my 110+ year-old house (that has more hips and angles than a fashion show) and I wanted to do it right.  I took 5 bids (6 if you count the company that was a no-show) and ended up with a range of bids that varied by nearly $20,000.   Capital came in near the midpoint of the bids but it wasn't the price that sold me - it was the care they put into their bid and the feeling I got from Jeff and, later, his son Danny.  They included more detail than any of the other companies I considered and I spent quite a bit of time on the phone with Jeff over the course of a couple of weeks where he answered all of my questions and explained all of my options.  Jeff struck me right from the start as an earnest, straight-up guy who was giving me his best offer.  No posturing, no pressure, just a good offer and a good feeling. Undertaking a major project on my house, my biggest asset, was stressful.  I was worried about everything.  Is this a fair price?  Is this the right company?  Will the crew stay on schedule?  Will they damage the property with their equipment?  Do I have any idea what I am doing?  Ultimately, you have to make a decision and for me, that's usually going with a gut feeling.  My gut said Capital so I signed the contract. Once work got underway, Azael, Jeff's primary crew chief, was on site every day.  He's a great guy, easy to talk to, always with a smile and a laugh.  The crew did their work, cleaned up every day, and kept the materials organized.  Couldn't ask for more.  Jeff and Danny came out several times during the project and we spoke by phone regularly.  Calls were usually returned the same day and always by the next day.  Changes (like my decision to add gutter covers) were handled clearly and easily and there were no financial surprises at all.  They did an excellent job. If I could do it again, would I choose Capital?  Wellllll...yes.  In fact, I did!   In August of 2023, while I was out of town with my family, our house got walloped by the big hail storm that rolled through Minneapolis.  By the time we got home a week later, work had already started on 4 houses on my block.   My first call was to Capital and they came out a day later.  My beautiful roof and old siding had taken major damage.  Danny and one of the roofing crew walked every inch of my roof and took over 100 pictures.  The damage was significant but the integrity of the roof was intact.  Because of the severity of the storm, Jeff was booked until very late in the season so we decided to push it until the spring of 2024.  That turned out to be a good decision as I spent a good portion of the winter arguing with my insurance company.  Every time they sent an adjuster or someone to take pictures or get a materials sample, one of Jeff's team was present.  I finally got things sorted out with insurance, spring arrived, and Oscar, Capital's other crew chief who is just as approachable and friendly and great as Azael, came out with his guys and got going.  They did another beautiful job on the roof and the siding is just fantastic.  They did tons of hand-bent aluminum work to mimic the architectural detail my insurance wouldn't cover.  I think it looks better than it did originally.  My wife and I are completely happy with the work and love with the way our house looks now. Total satisfaction with two excellent jobs six years apart is no fluke. Capital is as solid as they come and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. "We hired the Construction Group this summer to reside our house, fix any underlying siding issues, re-cover the house, install new facia, sofits, and leafless gutters. They also did the outside electrical - seven exterior lights and several new outlets. While the Construction Group wasn't the most inexpensive bid we received, they also weren't the most expensive. And we were incredibly happy with their work. Scott calls on quite a crew and they were awesome. Steady workers, extremely careful with the details. There was one small electrical snafu involving a particularly picky city inspector, but it was finally addressed to everyone's satisfaction.
