"Philip and his crew completed 9 days of exterior and interior painting in a professional and customer-focused manner. We especially appreciated their flexibility in adding on small projects on the fly that made a big difference to the end product. This is the second project they have done for us and it won’t be the last!"

"We’ve custom-built and remodeled homes on five occasions and from that perspective I give SES a solid thumbs up. They recently completed a kitchen renovation on our apartment and we are very happy with the outcome and the price paid. Perry’s estimate was detailed and specific and allowed us to complete the project as scoped for the price quoted — a first for us. The project progressed at an acceptable pace and SES coordinated well with the subs we selected ourselves for cabinets and countertops. As is the case with all builders, there were a few glitches and some of their crew were more skilled than others. Their demo crew, cabinet installer and tile guy were first-rate, their paint guys OK and their floor guy and cleaners not very good. SES addressed concerns related to the latter two with redos and fee reductions, respectively. They inadvertently disposed of $300 worth of cabinet lighting they were supposed to reuse, but they immediately agreed to replace it at their expense. Similarly, I had asked them repeatedly to provide me with copies of receipts for parking so I could get these reimbursed by the insurance company (the project was necessitated by water damage caused by our upstairs neighbor) but they neglected to do so and as a result offered to not charge us for parking (which HAD been included as a line item in their bid). Owner Shawn was very personable and responsive, and office manager Ashley was a pleasure to deal with, keeping things moving along and ensuring punch list items and other requests were addressed in a timely fashion. Communication generally was excellent. There were no times when anyone became difficult to work with, another first for us. I would gladly use SES again and I recommend them without reservation."

"We are so pleased with the work that Mr. Osoria and his crew did. Our 115 year old home has never looked so beautiful! Mr. Osoria and his crew of 2 to 6 people, showed up when promised every day and worked diligently and professionally on the cleaning, refurbishing and painting. All 32 adjustable, vintage, wooden window shutters had to be taken down and pressure washed separately so that the house itself could be pressure washed. The crew also pressure washed our front porch and the sidewalks and brick stairs leading up to the house. They even pressure washed the driveway and pool house! When everything else was finished, the crew re-hung the shutters. Four of the shutters required minor repairs so that the metal hooks required to hang the shutters could be reattached to the shutter. The 17 windows are large, each more than 4’ wide and 6’ tall and have 156 panes of glass in total, so a lot of time and skill is required. That total doesn’t count the window over the back door (with 16 panes), not the two white doors (one with a small stained-glass window) that provide access to the attic that Mr. Osoria decided required painting as well. Four panes had to be replaced, a lot of glazing had to be redone and each window received a primer and two coats of paint. When window glazing and painting were complete, the crew touched up the red house paint which had flaked some areas due to the pressure washing. Everything looks great! The crew was a pleasure to work with and were pleasant and courteous throughout, taking care not to damage the gardens around the house while they worked. We already have a couple more jobs in mind for them in the near future. Thank you, Mr. Osoria, for a job well done."

"All of Bob's Painting people I dealt with were excellent.  Estimate, pre-paint, and painting have well done professionally.
I had two other estimates. Bob's painting was not the lowest price however; Bob (owner) presented very likable personality and professionalism when he provided me an estimate.  I'm very happy and satisfied using them.  My house looks like a newly build house with fresh stucco paint and front door.  My drive way is remarkably clean comparing with my neighbors'.  As a matter of fact, one of my neighbor just hired some handyman for power wash their driveway . . . . sorry, but my neighbor wasted money. . .
Thanks Bob, Ron, Robert, Jose and David, I love your work!!

FAQs for small projects painting or staining projects in Akers, LA

You'll need about two gallons of paint to fully cover your kitchen cabinets with two coats. Since each gallon covers around 350 square feet, it's a good idea to measure your cabinets or use a paint calculator to determine exactly how much you'll need. Starting with one or two coats of primer and then applying two to three layers of paint will give you a flawless, durable finish. Using high-quality paint can reduce the number of coats needed and provide a long-lasting finish.

The best type of paint for your kitchen cabinets is latex paint because it applies evenly and creates a durable finish. If you're painting wood surfaces and need extra adhesion, acrylic paint is a great alternative. We don't recommend oil-based paint for residential use due to its VOC emissions. For finishes, go with eggshell, semi-gloss, gloss, or satin, as matte finishes aren't as durable or as easy to clean.

The best method for painting kitchen cabinets is spray painting because it gives you a smooth, even finish without brush strokes. While brushes and rollers can work, they often leave marks and require more effort. If you're aiming for a professional look, spray painting is your best bet to enhance the beauty and durability of your cabinets.
