"Silas is such a breath of fresh air....detail oriented, makes positive suggestions, project completed in time estimated, flexible when the customer impedes his progress. Beyond what we expected, he made simple carpentry repairs and replaced a ceiling. We're VERY happy with the results of his work! Furthermore, he has a friendly, easy-going manner. We'll be calling him again soon. We highly recommend Silas."

"Having Mercy Painting with Eric and his crew was a fantastic renovation process. Hiring Mercy was the best decision we’ve made for work done on a home built in 1832. Our bedroom was transformed, in a week, from a total mess to a totally relaxing and peaceful space. From new ceiling, to reframing closets, adding moldings, paint, hung new closet doors, amazing workmanship. On time every day, true professionalism, old school manners and just wonderful. Very reasonable rates. Our expectations were exceeded. Also I couldn’t get the globe back on the ceiling fixture and he returned as a favor to take care of it. Who else does that? We’re looking forward to having him back for more renovating. Thanks Eric and Mercy Painting ?% with 5 plus stars Bob C North End Boston"

"They were prompt, friendly and courteous. On a short notice, they came and finished a very badly damaged wall situation and painted the entire room in one day. Very clean and also very thoughtful. I was working the in the next room while they were here and had no trouble concentrating. I will hire them again for my next painting job!"

"I hired Cowboy contractor to replace our existing entry with porcelain wood plank tile. The contractor came in and removed the hardwood floor and prep it to lay the tile. He also cut down the entry door trim and reinstalled it. Excellent work done by this contractor and I would recommend him. I definitely would use this contractor again to do work at my home."

Painters usually price a job by the square feet of the project. Sometimes they’ll include flat fees for fixed expenses, like overhead and permits.

Interior painting makes for a doable DIY project. You can save some money and get a real sense of accomplishment by doing this yourself. And, with the right prep work – covering, taping and scraping – it’s fairly forgiving. But it takes a lot of time to move furniture, tape trim, prep the surface and cover your floor, let alone apply the actual paint. Instead, save yourself the time and hassle and find a local interior painter.
Leave exterior painting to the pros. Not only do you need to worry about the type and quality of the paint, you’ll also likely need a ladder and considerably more prep work. You’ll likely need additional equipment like ladders, scaffolding and possibly a paint sprayer. It’s almost cheaper to just hire a pro. Talk to a local exterior house painter about your project.
