"Costly! Incorrect measurement of basement windows delayed installation by months. I had to recaulk inside and out, to reseal. Broken window-slider handle. My continuous calls for window installation yielded, no apology or price break. Once installed payment notice immediately mailed with threat of collections because contract states payment at time of completion. No follow up on warranty, servicing etc of my crawl space encapsulation as promised to me at time of signing contract."

"The handyman called me and informed me that the window well was not a regular fit and that it would need a special fit. He then asked what my goal was with the window well. I informed him that I just wanted to keep water out. He then said that he could just put a cover on it, and did it that day. This ended up costing me less than the original estimate.
"

"We had a Bay window installed in our house approximately 5 years ago, we had numerous issues with this window company, but we love the way it looks and are still very happy with it. We needed to replace a couple other windows in the kitchen and started looking to replace them with a bay window as well. I wanted the two bay windows to be the same or as close as possible, so against my better judgement, we went with the same company again. The estimate was done very timely, contractor was nice, prompt etc. When it came time to install the window, which he assured us would only take a half a day, he called and said his crew and quot;bailedand quot; on him, so we had to postpone the install for another week or so. He finally showed up to install it, help arrived later to lift the window in and all was proceeding very nicely. He was putting up the inner trim boards and cut one about 2 foot too short. So the job was not completed. It took him a week to drop off another trim board so I could stain it, and we are still waiting (3 weeks) for the job to be finished. I'm sure it will look great when it's done, but for now, we have a very ugly looking side to a potentially beautiful window. I realize this is a minor detail, but in my opinion, the company should have put the completion of one job at the top of the list before more were started. I called the installer and made a point of saying I was not going to pay for the window till it was complete so I would appreciate it being done very soon, as I was sure the billing cycle would be starting anytime.
Don't get me wrong, I love my windows, they are beautiful, but I just don't think the company or installer handled the situation in a very timely manner. He is very nice, a hard worker and does great work, but I feel the whole thing could have been handled better.
The trim board was put up and looks great, but a few other things still needed to be done beofre we could call the job finished.
On September 21, the window was finally completed. The last tiny piece was put in place.
All in all, the window is just what we wanted, looks great and I'm sure it will last, but the length of time it took to get to this point was a little beyond what we would have hoped.

"

"Very good carpenter skills . Looks really nice .
Only thing I thought was kinda not appropriate was it states in
The contract they will use off premises bathrooms and they both
Asked to use are bathroom not one but twice .
The labor was very expensive beings that it was $750 to just Install the two doors . Their work is very nice but I think $750 is a Bit much .
"

"It was really fast. I expected a day's work but it only took them a couple hours. Given the materials and how long it took to install it, it seems like the price was rather high."

"The owner, Kory, came and we did a walkthrough of my basement. We discussed a solution that involved trenching the entire perimeter and installing 2 sump pumps to expel any water. We also discussed the installation of steel I-beams and waterproofing/guard sheets. He was clear that the company's solution was for the interior of my house, not the exterior. After we'd discussed all the work that would be done and how long it'd take, he prepared a written estimate that we reviewed, I gave him a deposit, and we scheduled the jobs.
I discussed all this later with local family members, and we decided it'd be a good idea to check the exterior to see if we could find the CAUSE of the water. Lo and behold, we found buried downspouts that were leaking underground and repaired what we could at that time. I called Kory back to discuss the work we'd scheduled, and he returned today. Since it appears we may have found the issues on the outside, we've decided to wait until spring to see if our fixes work over a bit of time.
So the bottom line is that I didn't have Absolutely Dry do any work. Yet. I'll be following up with Kory in March or so and we'll take it from there. Very honorable guy, too - he even gave me my deposit back.
"

"My dad used Marty for his house and recommended him to me as well. Two folks came out and did the estimate. I told them because of my money on hand I didn't want to do all the windows at that time, but would rather do the front side first, which was a large window in the living room and two bedrooms. The windows were specially ordered and custom-made per the measurements and he arrived 10 days later to install them. I noticed it appeared that there were a couple too many windows in the back of his truck, so I asked him about that. He said it was enough windows for all the house. I reminded him that I didn't want ALL the windows done, just the front. He insisted that I said I did want them. I let it go at that and figured we'd come to some resolution before this was over.

This is the part where things COULD have gotten sticky, but it all worked out. We talked about it and he said I'd probably just have to cover part of the cost. I didn't like that idea, but I didn't want him to have to eat the cost since they were custom made. We came up with a solution where I'd pay for the two extra windows (kitchen and one bedroom) at cost, which seemed fair and happened to be affordable for us. It only added an additional $600 to the overall cost, bringing it to $3600, which I thought was more than reasonable to outfit an entire 1000 sq ft house with new (Viewpoint) casement windows with high ratings. He said if I was fine with that I could just install them later on. He worked by himself that first day and almost got everything done, but had to come back a second day to finish. On day 2 he finished quickly and then prior to leaving for another job he helped me install the bedroom windows, showing me how to do it for later on. With that knowledge I was able to install the kitchen window with absolutely no problems.

The quality of the work was great, however I would guess that MOST people aren't as lenient as I am on things like this. Experiences may vary but overall I'm pleased because Pella was going to be $8,000!!!!"

"Overall everything went well. They are expensive, but seemingly not out of line with what other companies are charging. There was a 6-8 week wait before the work was done which was the most negative factor. Materials and workmanship seem to be of high quality. The crew worked very had in not very comfortable conditions to do the installation."

"They were completely professional. Worked around my schedule and got the job done in a few hours. They cleaned their way out of the inside and outside of my home. Thought Angies list was kinda of a joke but now know that it's the real Deal. I would highly reccomend Them. I own several rental properties and know many contractors, got 3 bids. 2 from my people then from BOB. He got me the best deal, He knew when the best windows were going on sale to give me the best price.
"
