"Five out of five stars for the team at Avalon Building Concepts! A stranger’s knock on the door saved my family $10,000. What a true blessing it was to have Gus show up at our door. When we purchased out house, we knew the roof would have to be replaced because it was about 15 years old and the type of shingle installed had quality defects which caused it to prematurely wear. After the hailstorm hit the city, I didn’t really think anything of it until Gus came knocking on the door. Gus was very professional and walked me through every step of the process and even assisted in the insurance claim call. He went above and beyond to ensure the process went smoothly, was on budget, and completed in a reasonable manor. He was able to meet with me outside of his normal working hours to pick out the replacement shingles and taught me so much about the claim process and how to look for hail damage on a shingle. He gave me inside tips on how different insurance companies fight claims and Gus ensured me that he would jump through ever hoop he had too in order to get a new roof on the house. Luckily, my insurance provider accepted the claim on the first submission. When the team showed up to rip and replace, I was already at work and by the time I got home they were nearly finished and cleaning up. Throughout the process I was able to work with both Gus and josh, it appears that both of these employees are ready to push Avalon to the next level and incorporate new advanced technologies that make both of their jobs easier and safer. I could tell Josh really have a passion for the work that he does and the company that he works for. "I have a huge issue with the aftermath of the construction. Immediately following the work done, the ceiling in one of my rooms developed a very large crack that sagged down. It is very obvious that someone had stepped where they weren’t supposed to or dropped something heavy. The area is now sagging more and opening up to my attic. The company told me that in the contract it states that they are not responsible for any damage to the inside of the home what so ever. READ THE CONTRACT BEFORE YOU SIGN. I was told that no one will be calling me back regarding the matter. Management has refused to speak to me even once. The only communication I’ve had is with their call center and one conversation with a sales person. I’m just seeking assistance in paying for the damage they caused as it is an expensive extra cost that I cannot really afford. I now have to emergently get my entire ceiling replaced because it’s falling down. I deeply deeply regret going with this company."

Richard was great to do business with so we contacted him again when we wanted siding done. Again, we were impressed with the quality of the product, installation and communication. Every step Richard communicated in a promptly manner. "I chose Lake Michigan Construction for a full tear off and replacement of my residential roof. I’m very happy with decision to hire them as the contractor. LMC is a Holland based, family owned, business run by Kari and Al Noyola. Both of them are actively involved in the process from quote through installation. When doing advance research, I found that their online reviews and Better Business Bureau ratings are excellent. During the initial phase Kari and Al provided a detailed quote for scope of work including labor and a completely specified materials list. They took all the time I needed to understand the various roofing materials and products and how they integrate to provide a long lasting water proof roofing system. For material estimating measurements they use a software package called “EagleView” which was very accurate when I compared it to my original blueprint dimensions. It gave me confidence to know that the amount of material specified was accurately computed and would be on the job site when needed. Their quote and statement of work was clear, detailed, and transparent. The time they spent with me during the quoting phase left me confident they would be a reliable contractor and use quality materials for my project. The installation crew arrived on time every day and worked consistently all day to complete their tasks. My project used GAF roofing products and all the workmanship and installation techniques used by the crew were diligently performed to look visually appealing and to meet the installation specifications necessary to assure the manufacturer’s extended warranty was valid. My home’s siding, windows, and foundation plantings were carefully covered to prevent any damage. At the end of each day the crew removed all tear off debris and materials before leaving the site. Each night any unfinished roof work was covered and sealed to protect the house in the event of unexpected rain. The owner, Al Noyola, was actively on site several times throughout each work day to assure everything was running well and the crew had everything they needed. At the end of the project the crew left everything neat, clean, and looking great. My home also needed some flashing repair/replacement and that work was done in a neat attractive manner adding to the visual appeal of the finished project. The roofing industry has a reputation of unreliable contractors so I was extremely concerned when looking for a reliable supplier. I’m really happy I found and selected LMC for my project and very satisfied with the entire process of working with LMC. There were no unpleasant surprises throughout the project and they provided me with a beautiful new roof. I strongly recommend you talk with them about your roofing project."
