"Easy to work with. Got the job done. Estimated price quotes fairly accurate to finished cost of entire project. Awesome paint matching to original color of bathroom walls. Can’t even tell there was a large hole in the ceiling from the water leak. "

I've been an electrician for nearly 10 years and I'm an owner-operated company based out of Quakertown. There is no job too small for me. A handful of jobs I take care of are outlets, switches, lights, ceiling, bath, and attic fans, electric car chargers, underground electric for outbuildings, electrical panels, service upgrades, troubleshooting and more.

"Doug at Comfort Master is extremely knowledgeable for all things HVAC. He quickly diagnosed my air handler problem, was able to temp fix the failing system long enough to get me by for a month or two until we were able to replace the whole system. He got me the best possible price on the new unit, his team expertly installed it, they were very professional, knowledgable, and did the job right. They're gonna be my go-to from now on for anything HVAC or plumbing. Comfort Master has my highest recommendation!"

"Chris and I hired Robinson to replace our utility sink, faucet, drain and install shut off valves in our laundry room. Dylan and his assistant arrived at the promised time of 8am. Both were extremely professional with our interaction and the services were top notch. We will be hiring them again to install a garbage disposal and additional shut off valves in the kitchen. Price was at the going rate for a plumber. They are our new "go to team" with any emergency repairs."

"This is going to read very similar to my review of June 2017 below, except with the bathtub in my other bathroom. A (different) handyman was doing some other work in our house, and he broke off the decorative ring on the popup drain (not sure how or why). He (the handyman) wanted to fix it from the powder room ceiling below, since there was no other access. But this would have involved cutting into the drywall which he had just painted all nice. I told him to hold off. SOS call to Dale. Dale showed up and tried to take the fitting out with his special tool, but was limited in the amount of torque that could be applied to the cross piece since something else was turning which shouldnt be (perhaps as a result of the handyman's prior attempts). So back to the hacksaw blade trick of 2017 -- again he sawed the fitting remnant off the threads to remove it. Painstaking work, **** ** your knees and forearms. I offered him some water or coke. He politely declined saying he had his drinks in the van. Also delicate work as you had to be careful not to damage the pipe threads in the PVC drainpipe. Anyway, he got it out and a new replacement went in smooth. He also snaked out a slow flushing commode. Throughout, he kept explaining what he was doing. He cleaned up after himself. And most importantly for my wife, he agreed to wear shoe covers we supplied, and he took them off and back on every time he had to go to his truck (about 4 times). We were so appreciative of this, as well has relieved that we didnt have to rip up the drywall, that we added a 10% gratuity."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Allentown, PA

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
