First, I spoke with Kevin over the phone. He explained the two sides of their business, asked what we were looking for, and then recommended which side made the most sense based on what our needs and budget were. The first side of their business is to list out the project and solicit bids from several of the over 40 landscape and hardscape contractors they have a relationship with and have fully vetted. This way you don't have to solicit all the contractors yourself. The second side of their business, and the one in which was recommended to us and we therefore used, was to have the landscape and hardscape done by them. Once Kevin told us this is likely the avenue we would take, he had his business partner, Andrew, come out to our house to assess the backyard. Andrew was at our house within a few days and again took the time to explain the business models of the company. He was sure to actually provide recommendations on the backyard style and plants to use (something we did not get from other companies). I appreciated that because I don't believe to know everything about your business, just as you don't know everything about what I do. Recommendations are always welcomed and appreciated. Since Andrew agreed that this was a project for their company to do, he set up an appointment for Jesse to come to the house. Jesse was there within a few days, took measurements, and provided additional recommendations. At no point during Andrew's nor Jesse's meetings did we feel oversold to or pushed by them. They were helpful, answered our questions, and got back to us later if we had additional questions. Within a few more days, we had a bid on the project based on Jesse's measurements and our rough plan. We then scheduled the project out for their next available time, which was three weeks later. In the week before, I spoke with Jesse several times about the products we were going to purchase, where we could go look at pavers, and other questions I had. Jesse and his team worked from early morning until about 5pm for six days straight. They cleaned up after themselves at the end of every day. They were courteous, hard working, and very professional. Once done, Jesse walked us through everything that was planted, the mechanics of the sprinkler system, and the timeline for actually getting to use our new grass. We could not be more thrilled with the process from beginning to end. We felt that Andrew and Jesse were always there to answer our questions and follow through on their promises. "We've used Bartlett several times before and they are very professional. They don't use any spikes when climbing the tree, just ladders and ropes. They also used all hand tools (no chain saws) this time. We called twice before they called us back. Apparently their computer system was down. Kevin, an arborist, came and gave us a quote to prune two trees. While he was here, we asked for advice about a dwarf Satsuma that had some yellow curled leaves. He said it was planted too low in the ground and dug around the trunk on the spot to expose the root ball. He thought that, plus giving it some fertilizer, would likely solve the problem. Even though we've used Bartlett a few times before and been happy each time, we decided to get a quote from another arborist (from Angie's list). The other guy was a little more expensive on one tree and a little less on the other, so we decided to use one contractor for each tree, mainly to see how the other guy would do. We haven't yet scheduled the work for the second tree. The crew arrived on time the day we had scheduled them to come, but it was just after a big storm, and since some power lines run through the tree, they decided it was too wet to safely do the work and rescheduled for another day. The crew arrived on time on the second scheduled day, pruned the tree, cleaned everything up, and hauled away all the limbs. Now we get a lot more light both in the house and on the back porch."

"I have nothing but good things to say about Earthcare. <br /> Deva provided a design that I absolutely loved but couldn't quite afford. She willingly redesigned the back yard, meeting my budget requirements as well as meeting all my "wishes" throughout the yard: low water, easy maintenance, edible plants, bright colors, attraction for hummingbirds and butterflies, room for a vegetable garden, etc. She recommend installing an arbor, which I had never considered, but I love it and the swing hanging there where I have spent many relaxing hours. She is a delight to work with. <br /> I was pleased with all stages of the process. Deva and Ryan, the owner, are personable and customer oriented. The job took about the amount of time I was promised. One of the two (or later on the project manager) stopped by each day to check on the work being done. Any attempt to contact either of them got an immediate and satisfactory response. This "checking" process continued weekly for some time after the job was completed to ensure that the plants were thriving and the watering system was working properly. They will be back briefly in December to plant the dwarf persimmon I wanted, which needs to be bare root and was not available in the summer. I am also considering hiring their crew for occasional trimming and maintenance. <br />"

"We had a very tall Monterey pine tucked in the far back corner of our yard. They estimated two and one half days. It was about 30 inches in diameter at the base and maybe 100 ft. tall. With a crew of two they they assembled their necessary rope hoists, and cut off branches 10 ft at a time, carefully lowering the pieces to the ground where the other second guy sawed and piled them. At the end of the job, they used a bob-cat to remove the large logs to their truck. The less longer branches were dragged out and chipped. Afterwards they cleaned up all the chipped and smothed the surfaces when they left. Good as new except for the stump which they left (we decided it was not worth the effort and cost to try to get a stump chipper back to that location. This pine would have wrecked our house if it toppled in a strom (which pine tree often do), Cost was 2 - 3 thousand dollars. <br /> Other times they have done just a quick cleaning of dead oak branches high in the trees. 10 - 15 trees, half day, $350."

"Overall my experience was very positive. I called Ramon Rosas about coming over and giving me an estimate on lawn service for the front and back yards. We made an appointment for him to come right over. Ramon looked over the front and back yards, he checked out the sprinkler control box in the garage, as well as both boxes that contain the sprinkler valves in the front and back yards. Ramon concluded that both valves might need to be replaced. We discussed that the grass in the back really needed to be replaced. We also discussed that my three trees in the front and side of the house needed trimming and that he could also provide that service. <br /> <br /> I recalled from the profile that Ramon also provided handyman services, we spoke about this and I indicated that I would need that type of service within the landscape and that would be able work on other projects in the yard such as repairing the gate, replacing the mailbox, outside lighting, etc. <br /> <br /> Once Ramon finished his overall assessment he quoted a price for weekly and monthly lawn service for the front and back yards which I agreed to service for twice a month. The estiamte includes cutting the front and back lawns, weeding, repairing/replacing sprinklers as needed, trimming shrubs, and fertilizing. He also gave me additional estimates for trimming the trees, replacing the back lawn with sod, repairing the busted sprinkler system pipe along the back fence, and replacing the sprinkler valves in the front and back yards. Ramon also was very easy to speak to and had a pleasant personality. <br /> <br /> Once I agreed to Ramon's fee for the monthly lawn service I was very impressed when he repaired several of my broken sprinkler heads in the front lawn on the spot. Subsequently, I did call Ramon on the telephone to inform him that I was not ready to commit to the tree trimming service or replacing the sod in the back yard just yet and would let him know when I was ready. At this time I have only agreed to the front and back yards monthly lawn service; and informed Ramon that I would let him know when I was ready to proceed with the other projects. <br /> <br /> I am pleased so far, and think Ramon was very responsive, punctual, and professional, and I look forward to continuing to use his lawn service."

They will come out as many times as I need them to come out and there is no additional charge. I pay them once a month. They come out at least once a month. The price depends on what I have had done. I use them for pest control as well as for lawn work. If I call them for some work, like if I have ants or if I need them to come after the service, they come right away. Some times they come in the afternoon or the next day. They don?t fix an appointment for a week or two later. They have explained to me that different problems come up during different times of the year. They have to service these problems and there is no additional charge when I call them. They are very professional and that is why I have been using them for over 20 years."
