"We hired Builderzz for our major remodeling project because of Joe's detailed explanations of the works to be performed during the initial walkthrough, as well as the competitive pricing (among the four companies we interviewed). Joe has been very accommodating and responsive to our needs, and we are very impressed with his attention to details throughout the project. Our project is now about 98% finished and we have been very happy with the quality of work performed by the crew."

"<p>Somehow my laptop corrupted the operating system and would not even boot up. Alexander Technical Resources (Spencer) came to my house to try to repair my computer. We decided that my computer needed to go to their repair facility for some serious work. They were able to save all my data, ran thorough diagnostics and repaired my computer. It was such a relief that I did not loose and data.</p> <p>This is the second time I have used them. The first was to set up this very laptop and transfer all the data from my old PC.</p> <p>I would recommend Alexander Technical Resources and will use them for any other computer repairs. </p> <p><br /></p> <br /> <br /> <br />"

"Walter did an exceptionally good job on a long list of repairs, which we had deferred because we didn't know who could possibly know how to fix them all.  Thanks to Angie's List, we found Handyman Unlimited and Walter.  The experience was even better than all the rave reviews on Angie's List!  Of note the $830 included both parts and labor.  He actually went shopping for the needed items (door knobs, sockets, specialty light bulbs, cabinet hardware, etc.) beforehand. <br /> Walter first came out to look at all the items that needed repair and then gave us a bid. While the bid was a bit higher than we would have liked, by the end of the project, we knew that it had been worth every penny.  After the bid, he returned another day and spent a full 8 hours completing the work on our list and a few more items that we discovered along the way. <br /> His expertise was impressive, and the quality of work was excellent--which is saying a lot because we are considered to be perfectionists. He was friendly and professional as well as highly skilled.  One of the best surprises was that he is NOT afraid of heights and brings a giant ladder so he can reach the vaulted ceiling chandeliers, which are very, very high.   <br /> In addition to his high level of expertise, he is a creative problem solver as we discovered on several occasions. <br /> We definitely will use Walter of Handyman Unlimited again. <br />"

"We received the phone number of this company from a friend that hired them and he was able to reduce his utilities bills by doing an efficiency audit that includes covering all the openings at the house (windows, HVAC, Doors etc.?.) and then with a machine, running the test and to see from where the house is losing most of the energy and to perform a repair that will prevent that in the future. Ezra and his team of workers came to perform the test and to see what need to be repaired or improved. The audit took close to 5 hours and then the machine that they used worked for additional 2 plus hours. After that was completed, we saw clearly that the problem was the windows and the HVAC. Ezra recommended us to perform a repair to both of them and then to run the test again. After the workers of them finished the repair, Ezra came once again and did the test. He was pleased with the results and so as we. During all the work, we saw how it was before and how it was after. We do recommend this company for that type of work! They are professional and honest people to hire and they carry all the relevant licenses as well."

"The person performing the service had to make several trips because one of the "new" parts turned out to be faulty. I found both Complete Protection and their local repair contractor to be both very responsive and totally professional at every stage of the repair process."

"He came over to assess the problem, told me what I needed, and -despite his busy schedule-  fit me in and solved my problems in very short order.  I was afraid that my freezer would go out (again... it had happened before) and all of the food would spoil.  He pointed out that it was on the wrong kind of outlet .  Within 48 hours, he ran conduit, installed a new  outlet and corrected my broken sprinkler valve problems.  Everything was taken care of.  <br /> He clearly spelled out what I needed for the lawn system so that I could pick out the parts myself.  I probably saved a bit that way, as well. <br /> Justin is a master at his craft: he seems to enjoy what he does and even teaches electrical work at the AV College.  I don't see that I will ever need to look for another electrician. <br />"

"I have used this contractor twice and the work rates a "C" overall. The <br /> work of pouring and shaping concrete is only one part of a job, and at <br /> that part they do ok and would probably rate an "A" for that part but <br /> the other part of a job is leave a clean work area just as one finds it. <br /> In that part of the job this company receives a "D-" at best hence the <br /> overall "C" rating. Leaving a mess on the yard and killing a portion of <br /> it with the concrete tailings is not really acceptable. As well, <br /> staining previous concrete work - done by this own company no less! - is <br /> not acceptable either. Last, showing up on the wrong day and working <br /> when the owner of the house is not around - without prior approval - is <br /> not acceptable. I would like to give them a higher rating but as I <br /> stated - pouring an shaping concrete is only one part of the job. <br />"

FAQs for generator repair projects in Amboy, CA

There is often some confusion about the type of work these professionals do. They only work on electrical systems such as outlets, lighting fixtures and electrical panels – they aren’t appliance repairmen.

There are three types of electricians: Master, Journeyman and Apprentice. Electrical licensing varies quite a bit by state. Some have licenses for apprentices and some do not. Some have a master’s rank while others stop at journeyman. Despite the differences, they all require a minimum amount of experience and usually classroom time.

  • Apprentice electricians aren’t usually licensed and spend 4 years learning the trade. Throughout that time, they work on a wide range of projects to learn to become a Journeyman. They’ll do basic work like installing fixtures and replacing outlets all the way to assisting in wiring a home. Regardless of the type of project, they must always be supervised by a Journeyman or Master electrician.

  • Journeymen work without supervision. In a few states, this is the highest level available and they can do all levels of work from wiring a new home to installing a light. In some states, they need a separate electrical contractor license to run a business. In places with a master’s level, a journeyman can do all work besides design new electrical systems.

  • Master electricians usually manage a shop, design new electrical systems in new construction and oversee both Journeyman and Apprentices. They typically bid new projects. Though they focus on larger projects, it’s not unheard of for a homeowner to request a Master Electrician for a house call. If you do, expect to spend up to 25% more for the visit.

Generally, you don’t tip electricians, but that’s not to say they don’t appreciate it if you do. You can offer them something to drink or eat, like coffee and donuts. Most will appreciate it if you do.

The education and certifications required to become an electrician vary by state, though they generally follow this list:

  1. Apprentice

    • Does not always require a license depending on the state.

    • Learns on the job under Journeyman and Master Electricians.

    • Usually needs 4 years on-the-job training before they can test for a Journeyman license. Many states also require a technical degree to advance.

    • Always require supervision.

  2. Journeyman

    • Needs between 8,000 to 10,000 hours of on-the-job training and usually 500 to 1,000 hours of classroom experience.

    • Can usually supervise apprentices.

    • They can diagnose and repair electrical problems.

  3. Master

    • Achieved after an additional two years (4,000 hours) working as a Journeyman and taking the Master Electrician Exam.

    • Besides diagnosing and repairing electrical systems, they also design them. In most places they run shops and inspect Journeyman and Apprentice work.

    • Not a recognized rank in all states.

  4. Electrical Contractor License is an optional license in some states for a Master Electrician to run a business. Some states have this instead of the Master license.

Electricians make an average of $26 per hour but it ranges with experience and licensing. An apprentice may make about half that while a Master Electrician may hit closer to $40 per hour. This figure represents how much they make; not how much they bill. Their salary is only one component of their costs. They must also figure in overhead, taxes, equipment, insurance and several other expenses.

Leave electrical work to the professionals. Electrical systems are complex and potentially hazardous when not handled and installed correctly. If it were easy, it wouldn’t take 4 years to become a journeyman or 6 years for a master’s license. If you are determined to forge ahead yourself, understand home electrical safety before beginning any project.Even for simple common electrical projects, a licensed pro is best. Not only is it safer, but contractors guarantee and insure their work. Hire a professional to keep your home’s electrical systems functioning properly and safely.
