"I put in a request to replace my mailbox. I was quoted a price of $ 450. Prior to agreeing to pay for the job, I asked the business to give me a breakdown of what I would be paying for the work (I.e. replace the post, pick up materials, disposal of old mailbox, etc.) I did not receive a response after that. I make it a practice not to pay anyone until I see a breakdown of what I’m paying for. While I cannot accuse him of doing so, I did not want a situation in which someone would go out, pick out a mailbox for me, take off the old one, put the new one on the old post and leaving me to deal with the disposal of the old one for $450.
