"Kevin McCray and his team did a drive through the neighborhood and knocked on my door to ask if I wanted my trees trimmed. I have received several quotes in the past from professional arborist companies which were very high so we could not complete the work even though it was in serious need of being done. McCray's quote was very fair, and while it didn't cover the full extent of work our past quotes had, it covered the main areas of concern for me so I decided to move forward. <br />if you are looking for a place that will provide full written contract and such, this is probably not the service for you. However, if you are budget conscious and just want a job well done, then they are great. Very professional and courteous team, did work safely with no damage to our house or yard and cleaned up after themselves so you can't tell they were even here. Walked through the scope of work before and after to ensure we were on the same page about what was to be done and for what price. And no money exchanged hands until I was walked through and happy with the result. <br /> <br />I can't speak to their other landscaping work as I didn't have any done, but they do offer other landscaping services as well."

"Elmer designed our new stone patio and plantings to replace a wooden deck off of our screened in porch. Once we agreed on a design and price Elmer took me to choose the stone we would use, including accent stone and lighting. Once this was all done Elmer and his crew arrived and worked non-stop until the project was completed...about 2 weeks. Then in the spring he installed the agreed upon plantings. I must say dealing with Elmer is easy. He is professional, honest, hard working and a great designer. Work was completed on time and within budget...no surprises. I am hiring him again this fall for more planting...he has a great eye for what will work in the yard. Also just a very nice man."

"Overall, service was good. We needed gutter cleaning on our 2 story, 2500 sq ft home. A friend currently uses Atlanta's Best and recommended them to us. I got a quote online for $125, less a $20 discount for new customers. The crew had to reschedule our first appointment the day of due to getting delayed on a previous job, but their communication was good and kept us in the loop the whole time. The office rescheduled us and got a crew out within a week of the initial appointment. I wasn't home when the guys arrived, but I came home to not only clean gutters but a clean driveway, walkway, porch, etc.. "<p>The firm's president, Randy Alverson, arrived promptly, assessed our damp basement situation, and explained in great detail the various steps of the waterproofing process.  He answered all of my questions and was so professional and reassuring that I broke my usual rule of getting at least 3 proposals for any home project, and decided to hire Chamberlin-Washington immediately.  Of course, I had done my homework and read the firm's excellent reviews on numerous websites including Angle's List, which added to my confidence in my choice.  </p> <p>The Chamberlin-Washington crew was terrific and worked so hard under very chilly and damp conditions. They first removed all of the plants/shrubs from our front borders, carefully wrapping the roots in order to preserve them.   An 8 + -foot trench then had to be dug along the front of our house, to the bottom of the foundation, in order to begin the waterproofing process.  They worked very carefully, addressing one half of the foundation at a time (including under our front porch, which was undisturbed). The crew realized that our home's exterior foundation was very rough and uneven, which meant that it wouldn't be a receptive surface for the waterproofing membrane.  Mr. Alverson came back to our house to explain the additional steps that were needed to smooth the foundation out before the waterproof membrane could be applied: grind down the rough foundation, install stainless steel wall ties, install wood forms and pour a 4" thick concrete layer to even up and consolidate the foundation.  He made sure that we understood what was going to happen, and explained that though this was an unusual step to have to take, they had done it before for with some older homes such as ours (built circa 1925).  This extra step of preparation added an additional 50% to the original fee, but it had to be done. Once the waterproofing layer was finally in place, they tested it by spraying water onto the foundation for an hour, with one person carefully monitoring the process inside our basement to make sure that no water was leaking through.</p> <p>Ultimately, Chamberlin-Washington was able to thoroughly waterproof the front foundation of our home, and we have had no further water problems whatsoever.  We were extremely impressed with Mr. Alverson and his crew -- very professional, punctual and thorough.  I highly recommend this firm to anyone whose home needs similar waterproofing work.  I should also add that Chamberlin-Washington honored the 10% discount for Angie's List members -- a nice touch.</p> <br />"
