"We hired Wow 1 Day for 2 separate projects and each one was high quality work with professional service and communications. The first was after we had a flood and needed to get our basement painted after water remediation. The second time we use the company to repaint our entire house. They were great helping with color consultations. We let our kids have some say over there rooms but the company was great in helping with that process. They also helped us be selective about trim and doors that didn't need to repainted to keep us on budget. I would recommend this company without reservation."

"Marvin and his team were true professionals through and through. We had a four day job that included repainting an entire interior of a house on three levels and exterior doors and shutters. Marvin was super willing to work with us on our colors, the actual painting team were all very friendly and spent the time to expertly apply the paint to all areas. At the end of everyday the team would walk through with us to show us the progress and see our thoughts on the quality. For an entire house there were almost no touch ups required and when we didn’t like a color of a certain room, they gladly repainted when we asked. "The three person team was a disaster. They appear to have been a subcontractor. Although they showed up with one day notice (great), the work went rapidly downhill. I recommend that Angie's List remove them from the Super Saver list. First they relocated all of the furniture to the unprotected porch despite a forecast of rain and snow. We moved some of the light furniture to the garage and had them move the rest to protect it. The real disaster came when they replaced the furniture. They gouged our newly refinished hardwood floors in several places, including the middle of the room where everyone can see. Moreover, when replacing the furniture, they got paint on the coffee table and piano because they moved the furniture through recently painted doors that had not dried. Second, we had contracted for a ceiling repair but dropped that since we could not clear the room for them to work. The original bid was for three days work time. But even after dropping this big piece of work, they took four days to complete the job and were so rushed on the last day that the quality totally fell apart. They took their time for the first three days, including long lunch periods (more than 1 hour) and short workdays (6-7 hours) and then did not have time to complete the work with any quality. The stair risers have drips where the paint ran down. Third, they painted an outside garage door without properly preparing the surface. As a result, the paint is already peeling. Also, they painted the door on the coldest day which didn't help adhesion. Fourth, the wallpaper removal was successful and they did a decent job of painting the walls, which is why they received a D not an F for quality. but there were paint drops on the floor and trim. In other areas, there were paint drops on the carpet. Fifth, they did a terrible job of cleaning up. They used our utility sink, but did not clean out the paint from the bottom. Since we use this sink for laundry, the paint residue is a big issue. They left the unused paint cans with the rollers in them. Imagine what that paint will look like after the rollers sit for several months or years. There was a big paint spot on the front porch, which wasn't even part of the paint job."

"If you want to work with someone condescending, rude, confrontational, unprofessional, and whose contractors workmanship is probably the worst I have ever encountered in my 30 years of working with contractors, THIS IS YOUR GUY. I can ramble on about the false promises, the horrible workmanship, the constant delays, the lack of communication, the rude and confrontational text messages. I guarantee Mr. Shank will in fact respond to this review and try to flip the script and blame it all on me somehow. He talks very poorly about all his customers well at least the ones he doesn't like. Not sure what that is based on although I do have some idea what is based on. But he never made anything explicit, so I can't make accusations that he is a racist. So I am definitely not saying he is a racist because he didn't do anything racist. But if he was a racist it would explain why he didn't give two poops about doing good work for multiple projects I provided him. I also have multiple properties and was hoping to make Mr. Shank a lifelong contractor. In a nutshell, he has done 2 projects for me at 2 properties. One was installing a threshold for a glass enclosed shower stall. His crappy sub contractor (they are not employees) despite him saying they are employees, did not install any grouting on the threshold. Fast forward 1 year, and mold is popping up all around the threshold. Rather than dealing with this individual, I hired another contractor to fix up his mess. Second job, and my second mistake, I hired him for a full scale home renovation for around 50K. That project was an absolute disaster. He took 3 months to do what he promised to me verbally would be a 3 week job. I don't really want to spend 1 hour writing down all the crap he did wrong. I'll try so sum up the highlights. Ripped out old flooring, promised to make new flooring level after installing new concrete by using lasers. New flooring is totally not level and as bumpy as walking on your local trail. The shoe moldings around the flooring look like a child installed them. I had to argue with him to get him to regrout the bathroom which was in his contract in the first place. I can go on and on. For sure if you are someone that Mr. Shank likes and match his criteria of what he likes, whatever that could be I have no idea definitely not race related. He may do a great job for you and that may explain the great reviews. I myself had a horrible experience with Mr. Shank and his group of sub contractors who just plain do terrible work. Ignore my review or take it seriously, frankly this guy will keep getting business cause he's a great salesman. Even has a LinkedIN profile to show how professional he is. Epic scammer and fraud. Stay away."
