Steve happened to be free due to inclement weather & came by within 30 minutes. He spent a lot of time with me & is extremely personable, knowledgeable, & professional. "He has been doing my yard for 11 years. I had massive trimming done, and it cost $400. I had lots of shrubs, and it had to be hauled off and cut. It took two of them all day long. I can leave home and be gone for months, and he will take care of it. They are very dependable and honest. One time he accidentally cut my hose, and he went and bought the piece and fixed it."

"We have used Heartwood for years as our tree company, whether to remove a big dead oak or fertilize living trees that needed help. Today we had them come out for just under three hours. A crew of two men (and briefly a third, I think) cut dead branches out of two tall, large oaks, trimmed tall bushes to keep them away from the exterior walls of the house and removed low-hanging limbs from a healthy elm in the back yard. They also cut away a large dead portion of a two-forked redbud and thinned out the healthy side. As usual, they arrived on time precisely (8 a.m.), briefly discussed the work with us, did it efficiently and cleaned up afterward. We will continue to use them for all our tree-related needs."

"The guy was really nice. He hasn’t done any work for us yet. We haven't even decided whether we are going to let him have the bid.  I thought that the recommendation he made was reasonable.  I think it's probably more than we are going to be willing to pay. I think the quote is high, but I don’t know if that's because he is expensive. I don’t have enough information yet to make a judgment about whether that's just a reasonable amount for the amount of work he would be doing or if it's a little high for the kind of work that we are asking him to do. At this point time, that's all the information I have about him. I picked him because of Angie's List and because his recommendations were good on Angie's List. I'm sure he does good work. Just from meeting him and interacting with him, I think the quality of his work will be good. But I'm not sure we are willing to pay that much money to have that work done if there's some alternative to doing it that way. I don’t think his quote is probably unreasonable for what he is offering to do. We may just have to not have such a good job done because we can't afford it. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about him. I think what he recommended to do was reasonable to do. I think the quote is probably reasonable for what he is offering to do. He was very professional.  He was there right when he said he would be. He was very professional in the way he interacted with me. He took a very careful look at what our situation was to see what needed to be done. His recommendation was reasonable. He got back to us with the quote in a very reasonable amount of time. The price feels high to me, but I don’t know because he is the only person I've gotten a quote from. So in order to have some sense of whether that's too high or too low, I have to have some other information and research. With regard to quality, I haven't seen his work.  I think based on my judgment of him that it would be good. He was very responsive. He was there within a day after I called him. We made an appointment right away, and he came right away. He was right on time. In fact, he was early; he got there before I did."
