"I lived in this house for 20+ years. The basement was always damp and at some points flooded. Since the work was done, the basement has been bone dry for 2+ months. I'm still trying to wrap my head around it as I'm so used to the basement being wet when it rains. I'd recommend them to anyone. The crew, headed by Philip, truly worked their butts off. It was heavy exhausting work to excavate and rebuild the basement walls, as well as jack hammering out the concrete basement floor to put in the French drain, pour the concrete, etc. But they took great care & did a fabulous job. They even came and worked on a weekend when we were being threatened with a tropical storm to make sure that the basement was properly secured enough to withstand the storm (which thankfully did not come)."

"Mike Normile is an outstanding contractor and I strongly recommend him. The concrete and landscaping work that Mike Normile did here at my home is excellent and has really changed and improved the exterior appearance of my home. He also did extra things free of charge. Everyone who has surveyed the completed job has remarked about its excellence. Mike and his crew showed up on time, worked hard, and were trustworthy and professional. The total project took longer than expected because of weather delays. Mike was always available in the evening to discuss the progress of the work. I was also able to contact Mike after the job was completed and paid for and he came back and did a few little things. This was a big project that I put off doing for at least ten years. It was expensive but well worth the money. I am glad that I finally went ahead and got this work done. Mike Normile is probably the best contractor I have ever contracted with in the 21 years that I have lived here."

"In March 2011, a rock pad was laid as a foundation for our large garage being delivered.  Excellent work performed.  As a result of the impressive, professional job done, we had Rock a Fellas redo our deck in July, 2011.  A re-decking took place with Timbertech decking materials with radiance rails.  This was not an easy job, but Rock was very helpful in offering important advice and opinions on where to select materials etc.  He also took care of ordering the dumpster to haul away debris, a detail which can be overlooked by an overwhelmed customer.  He also rectified any concerns/issues with a prompt, professional manner which ultimately led to our great satisfaction when job was completed. <br />"

"Wonderfully done work from very stand up guys. The crew is personable and works quickly. Everything that was needed was done and comes at a good cost. We are very happy with the results and would recommend anyone needing any excavation work to go with Brian. All piping looks great, and they did a lot of work in the time that they were here."

"I want to praise Bob Wiggins of Lay it Down Tile and Home Improvement for the work he did in my home, which was done timely and with precision.  His cost, after comparing it to others, was the best.  I completely trusted and felt comfortable with him being in my home when I was not present.  I would recommend Bob to anyone. <br />"

"The job went great. My wife loves Steve. As the job progressed, my wife was getting more and more excited. She kept asking Steve if He could do something different each time. We had looked at getting our kitchen done for a few years. We did have several contractors come out to give us estimates. When Steve came out, he gave us some great ideas on how to save some money, by buying certain products. He also gave us Ideas on design, and colors. Steve knows what he's talking about. My wife and I picked out our counter tops, Garbage disposal, Floor Tile, ceiling fan and back splash tile. He put in the Counter tops first. Once that was done, he started the back splash. My wife changed her mind with the type of tile she picked out. Steve took her to Lowes, and they picked out glass tile. She was very happy with that choice. Steve then did the kitchen floor tile, and it came out perfect. It was about 300 square feet of tile, and it has a design in the center. When it was all complete, Steve fixed a couple of small items around the house, and put in a ceiling fan, that we purchased. He didn't add the cost of the installation for the fan nor did he add any extra for taking time to pick out new tile. I offered to pay him, and he said, look, I love doing this. I love watching my customers faces light up, when I finish the job. That is better than anything. I would call Steve back anytime. I'm not a handy person. I love my home, and so does my wife. We want to keep our home looking beautiful. There is no other person I would trust to work on my home, than Steve's Company. His ad on his website says that he is your contractor, your neighbor and your friend. That is so true. look it up. www.stevewillfixit.com <br /> My wife and I Love Steve Gentile Home Repair and Remodeling. <br />"

"Expert House Movers brought a crew of 6-8 & came in late August 2013 to start the process of raising & moving the house.  My husband had done all the prep work of disconnecting the utilities & removing the furnace, etc. They dug access ramps to the old foundation/basement with bobcats.  They poked good sized holes around the foundation so they could put in steel beams and jack up the house.  Our foundation was from 1917 & built from old creek gravel cement, so it was pretty tough.  It took three & half days to jack the house & move it over the driveway.  It seemed really fast to me.  The only thing to fall in the house was a picture off the piano.  We still had access to the house through a tall ladder to get clothes, etc. that we needed. <br /> We took over the process of arranging excavation, concrete pouring, and carpenters with more local contractors.  Expert does have concrete people & others they use in the St Louis area that know exactly the requirements needed for the new foundation. <br /> After the basement was poured & cured (curing takes about 3-4 weeks), Expert returned in October 2013 to move & set the house.  They had been in contact with the concrete man for specifications, but there were no slots for the beams when setting the house down.  A concrete worker had to come & cut those slots.  We had a carpenter on hand to finish the sill installment & make sure the sills for the permanent beams was correct & set the support posts in the basement.  We also had a friend's tractor help Expert's bobcat pull the house back over the foundation.  While all this was going on, Expert was jacking and moving supports & placing slider beams & raising & lowering the house.  The process was complete in about 2 1/2 days with care & precision.  Some of the cracks in our house even disappeared.  Great job guys. <br /> Our carpenters returned to build a staircase & some other requirements.  We are working on re-connecting utilities & returning the furnace, water heater, etc. to the new basement.  We plan to move back into the house in the first week or so in November 2013.  It's been a long process, but well worth it.  Made possible by Expert House Movers! <br />"

FAQs for concrete flatwork repair & resurface projects in Arendtsville, PA

When evaluating whether patching can address your concrete blemishes, it’s important to assess the extent of the damage. Minor issues such as small cracks or chipped areas may be effectively repaired with patching techniques that restore the surface’s appearance. However, if you notice widespread deterioration, significant cracks, or structural weakening, resurfacing is recommended as a more durable, long‑term solution. A thorough evaluation by a concrete specialist can help determine the best course of action for restoring your concrete to its optimal condition.

The optimal time to resurface your concrete driveway is late spring. This period benefits from warm temperatures and softened ground conditions following winter’s freeze‑thaw cycles, ensuring that the new overlay bonds securely and matures to a durable finish. Resurfacing at this time also enhances your property's safety and curb appeal. Engage a concrete professional to schedule your project during this ideal season.
