"My next door neighbor had a laundry vent fire.  Thankfully, no one was hurt. Firefighters arrived around 9PM at night, hooked up to the nearest fire hydrant and sprayed lots of water into the house.  Was pretty ugly and the laundry room had to be gutted.   So that happened. <br /> And I thought... wow... my laundry vent hasn't ever been cleaned or inspected... but it's probably not that bad... <br /> Still, I was motivated to look up dryer vent cleaning services and was shocked that most services start at $100 or more per dryer vent.  Someone down the street paid $125 to get her dryer vent cleaned.  So I searched Angie's List, found Northstar and this great group rate deal.   There are no hidden charges... the pricing was upfront and did not change. <br /> I contact Northstar via email and Matt, the owner, very very responsive.  Communication and scheduling was excellent. <br /> Matt was prompt and professional.  He started by inspecting the duct work and was careful to take photos so he could more easily explain the repairs needed as well as document the before and after.  <br /> As it so happened, my ductwork needed some small repairs, so I was able to inspect an 8 foot long section of the duct.  I was very surprise to see my dryer vent was completely, 100% obstructed with lint. After Matt cleaned our dryer vents and ducts our dry time is back to 20 - 30 minutes per normal load. <br /> I will definitely use him again and highly recommend his services to others.  What a bargain!"

"<p>I called and asked what Jaycox would charge for repairing a Carrier A/C still under warranty and provided detail of the work required based on what a service tech with a competing company, Day and Night Air Conditioning, had described and quoted. I also confirmed that my home was in their usual service area. </p> <p>Jaycox said the service call would be $65 and an additional $120 to remove and replace the condenser fan motor and run capacitor. </p> <p>I knew when I got the quote from Day and Night I was being gouged, but didn't really have the option to go with another company at the time. Day and Night charged me $315 which is roughly 70% higher than what Jaycox quoted. Feel free to look up the detailed review I placed on Angie's for Day and Night Air Conditioning today 9/3/2015</p> <p>I expect to call Jaycox in the Spring and discuss an annual maintenance contract. I'm not trying to do business with the lowest priced company but do want to work with one that charges for services in a fair manner. Hopefully, my actual service experience with Jaycox will go as well as I anticipate, but I will continue writing detailed reviews to let everyone know. </p> <br />"
