"This company arrived late within weeks. They completed the job within a week and made my backyard look beautiful. Pulled a few hairs and teeth coming to an agreement about the price. A few spots were not done to best of there ability. Part of the turf is growing loads of weeds. They did not cut a root from my nearby tree so some of my pavers rose up and broke approximately 4months later. The company no longer answers my messages/texts even when there?s a supposed 1 year warranty and the warranty is still not up as I write this 8 months later. They also took the reaming pavers and turf they bough for my home ?for the warranty? but have not returned a text?. To summarize, this is a one and done big job company. "

"This was our second job with Outdoor Xcapes. 1st one in 2011 with Bret as our Salesman. Went fairly smoother with only a few glitches. This job consisted of a seat wall with small patio, step pads and artificial turf with Steve as our Salesman. Steve was very nice and eager to please during the bidding process. Very responsive to phone calls during the job. However, as the job progressed It was apparent that while it was important to Steve that the job was done correctly there was no give or take on money. At a Home Show an Outdoor Xscapes representative (not Steve) told us that repeat customers would get a discount. Steve would not honor that discount until it was to his advantage. There was a hole in their work schedule and they needed a job to fill it. At that point a discount was offered. The tree we wanted was 20% off, Steve would not give or share the shavings. Didn’t seem like there was any interest in building any relationship for return business or referrals. Crew did a great job including clean-up. Jesse, the foreman, was pleasant to work with. However, he was the only one who spoke English and stayed on the job for only a short time. Any communication had to be done by phone to Steve who would contact Jesse. It was a little cumbersome to communicate. We are very happy with the concrete seat wall and step pads. There were a few hiccups during the process, nothing major. The turf was not acceptable. It had discoloration, lines about every 10” and two visible seams. Megan was our contact for warranty issues. She was very responsive and easy to work with. I had to work directly with the representative for the turf which was Synthetic Grass. It took six weeks but the grass was replaced and installed by Outdoor Xscapes at no cost to us. Adam was in charge of the installation and worked with us to make it right. In hind sight my husband and I were too complacent in going with the same landscaping company. We assumed they would treat us right because we were a return customer. Because of this we didn’t get any other bids and when it became obvious that there was no loyalty to a return customer felt it was too late in the process to start over. It was a mistake. Outdoor Xcapes as a whole, is a good company and gets the job done quickly. Be sure to negotiate payment terms and dollars up front."

"Avoid at all costs! Incompetent workmanship from start to finish. Took over a month to reinstall correctly. Tried to tell me that "panels working properly upon reinstall" was not in his contract. Extremely unpleasant to work with. Used all my spare roof tiles without asking. Honestly looked like he was figuring it out as he went. Hire someone else."

"The septic was redone by Ducks Septic at the end of 2020. While it was being redone, there were a variety of things that were dissatisfactory, but which I ignored as I figured I would deal with it later and was just happy to be able to use the toilet and shower again. The real trouble began in 2023 when I received a notice from the county stating that the septic tanks lacked proper permits. I reached out to Ducks immediately and asked for them to rectify it. I didn't make a fuss, in fact, I just asked for a resolution and them to fix this since they were paid for this initially. My interaction with Tania, a representative from Ducks, further exacerbated the situation. Initially, she insisted I pay for the permit fees, despite my previous payment for the entire job. After a back-and-forth, she claimed she would resolve the issue at no extra cost. However, this marked the beginning of a gaslighting process. Tania purportedly communicated with the county, but as I followed up every two weeks, she provided continuous assurances without any tangible progress. Eventually, she ceased responding altogether, leaving me ignored and frustrated. I expected to have my septic completed in a timely manner, for it to done as paid, which included all permits, and for my landscape to be intact and as it started, but what I got was anything but. First off, the job took forever, the brother of the owner said he was doing it, ‘on the side’, despite not getting a discount? So we were always taken care of at night or when their employees were available. The septic took months to install, not including the time the permit wait was happening, as I understand that’s beyond their control. Secondly, our entire landscape was destroyed, causing thousands in damages. The smallest things being the very large piles of dirt left on the property and the dirt being pushed into our rocks along the inside smaller fenced portion, destroying the foundation of our fencing there. Then the major destruction being our irrigation system was moved, cut, and no longer in working condition as well as moving our entire *newly installed* fence line so it is now crooked. To add insult to injury, the permits. I now have threats from county about my septic not being permitted and thus, am apparently not allowed to use….. I guess a portapotty will work? Maybe I should have thrown a major fit from the get go? Oh, I know, maybe hired a real septic expert. This is the start. I am contemplating seeking recompense for the landscape damage, rectification of the permits, and compensation for the extensive difficulties this ordeal has caused."
