"Absolutely wonderful! Stretched and repaired our carpet in three rooms. He worked so hard to find the best and least expensive solutions for us knowing we were on a budget because we were selling the house. HIGHLY recommend this company. Truly honest and A work!"

Customers say: Quick response

"We used Samâ s Home Improvement to create our backsplash. He had a good price, and we were very impressed with his subcontractor, Luis Quispe, who actually did the tile work. He understood our plans, gave some suggestions, and was flexible with changes. The end result is fabulous."

"Pablo is the ultimate professional. He guided me through the tile selection process to ensure I purchased products appropriate for my needs. He followed up with a pre-installation visit to ensure there were no unforeseen issues that could negatively impact the installation schedule. The job was completed on time and on budget! Additionally, he was able to offer advice regarding another tiling project; advice that will save me both time and money. I could not have asked for a better experience. I highly recommend Dream Tile! I will 100% use Dream Tile again."

"Awesome experience. We had the run around from other companies, but Jose was very honest and clear on what we could do. He instantly understood what we wanted and put together a great plan for install of closet doors and interior doors. He found the perfect doors for us, ordered them, and kept us updated on the status of the order (things take longer during covid!). He and Mario worked quickly to install all the of doors, and cleaned as they worked. We were so impressed by how quickly the project was done and the quality of their work. Plus, they kept masks on the entire time, which we greatly appreciated! We will definately be hiring Jose and J&M Contruction and Remodeling again. Highly recommend!"

FAQs for tile: ceramic and porcelain repair projects in Arlington, VA

People use the terms refinishing, resurfacing, and reglazing interchangeably. Refinishing is a process that repairs old tiles and gives them a fresh new coat of finish. This is also called tile resurfacing or reglazing.

Yes, you can refinish tiles as a DIY project, but it’s important to follow all the steps involved. These include the following:

  1. Clean the tiles or hire a local tile cleaning service to remove all the residue (soap film, oil, grease, and dirt).

  2. Etch the tile to ensure the refinishing solution adheres properly.

  3. Fill in any cracks or chips in the tile.

  4. Recoat the grout.

  5. Repair any missing or damaged caulking where applicable.

  6. Apply the refinishing product, primer, and enamel.

Your newly reglazed tile should last between 10 and 15 years with proper installation. However, higher-traffic areas and moisture may result in a reduced life span. Explore the cost of different tile types to determine which material works best for your home and needs.

Your bathtub and tile refinishing cost will likely seem like a small price to pay for the transformation it offers. Provided your tile and grout are both intact, refinishing will bring a brand-new style at a fraction of the cost.

Yes, most ceramic tile is paintable with specific epoxy or tile paints. However, you’ll want to avoid areas of heavy use or moisture, such as countertops, showers, and bathtubs. Paint can crack, bubble, or wear away over time, especially on floors.
