"Stretched our carpeting in both the front room and dining room (large rooms). The carpet was damp in the dining room so they brought over a big fan to dry it out. They also had to apply latex to part of the backing to assure it would be strong enough to stretch in one section. The individual they sent was extremely knowledgeable and did everything to save the carpeting for the time being. He did a wonderful job.

"Very well! The guys that came to do the work were friendly, professional, explained everything they were doing and informed me of other services that I didn't realize they did. They also did a complimentary cleaning of the doorway area rugs which was awesome. The owner Keith...AMAZING RESPONSE TIME. He communicates through text or email which is so convenient and literally never had to wait more than a few minutes at the most to hear back. He was also very flexible and accommodating to MY schedule! Thanks guys!!! They are scheduled to come back for some grout repair work!"

We had our floor replaced from carpet/title/vinyl to hardwood by Igor and his team (Simple Flooring). We have been very much impressed by their professionalism with positive attitude/diligence/creatives. The hardwood floor came out beautifully.

First we were impressed by his out front openness and honesty.  He went beyond verifying our choice of product.  He made a point to open up a box of flooring materials that we chose and lay them out as it would be installed and showed us how it would appear. Right there and then we knew that not what we would like.  The larger area of display from a box showed quite different than our choice from the small sample during the sales presentation.  Igor let us see the problem by ourselves and allowed us to ask questions and answer technical/installation issues.  To the end, we choose a totally different materials as well as different installation process.  It would be a disaster, if Igor did not take that extra steps to let us discover what we did not see during our choice process.  We were so delighted and thankful.

During the installation, Igor would discuss with us on many details and asked our feedback frequently.  Once we did not like the outcome, he would go ahead and redo it over. Cases and points, problems from un-even flooring, curving wall, matching the coloring of the hardwood, covering the cabling through the floor, etc. Igor has been very creative and willing to try different ways for the best results with positive attitude. We are very much appreciated.

Every night when they done with the day, not matter how late, they would clean the floor before their departure.  Some days, they left around midnight. Before that they would ask our permission for working late.

We strongly recommend Igor and his team (Vadim, George, etc.) of their professionalism, honesty, positive attitude, diligence as well as creativities with beautiful results.  Thank you all!!

FAQs for carpet repair, refasten, or stretch projects in Arlington Heights, IL

Removing a rug costs around $0.40 to $0.50 per square foot. This includes the fee for a contractor to roll up the rug and haul it away in a vehicle for disposal or recycling. If they need to move furniture, they might charge an additional $0.25 to $0.30 per square foot of furniture.

If your carpet has minor damage—like a single area that requires stretching, patching, or cleaning—it might be less expensive to pay for carpet repair than remove and replace it. Repairing carpet costs around $210 per project.

The cost of carpet cleaning is about $190 for a three-bedroom home, so it’s a good idea to have your carpet cleaned at least once a year. But most carpeting only lasts 10 years. If your carpet is nearing the end of its life span, it might be more cost-effective to remove and replace your carpet than to clean and repair it. The average cost to install a new carpet is about $1,800.

Search our directory of carpet removal companies and services to find an affordable, screened contractor near you. All HomeAdvisor listings are vetted, reviewed, and rated by homeowners, so you can be sure to find a local pro qualified for your project. Get at least three quotes to compare prices and the timeline for your project.

Commercial carpet removal usually costs on the lower end of the carpet removal price range, around $1.10 per square foot or even less. Carpet installation contractors often offer discounted rates for larger projects, like commercial carpet removal and installation. Similarly, you might be able to negotiate a lower residential carpet removal cost if the carpet is pulled up throughout your entire home.

Most cities accept old carpets as bulk trash, but you may need to schedule a special pickup and prepare the carpet properly. Remove any nails or glue residue, cut the carpet into manageable pieces, and roll and secure them. Alternatively, you can take your old carpet to a local recycling center for a small fee, where it can be processed and repurposed.

Yes, you can remove carpet yourself if you're ready for a labor-intensive task. DIY carpet removal requires heavy lifting and tools like utility knives, pliers, and pry bars. The process is generally straightforward but time-consuming for stapled-down carpet. If your carpet is glued down or you're worried about damaging the subfloor, hiring a professional is best to ensure the job is done safely and efficiently.
