"NIGHTMARE!! Buyer beware!! Do not use Bath Planet St. Charles, MO or Peoria, IL same owner. Believe me, I’m doing you a favor and saving you time and money. Where do I even start? First of all, they will say anything to get you to sign the paperwork. And I mean anything, including guaranteeing it to be done by a certain date if you sign today. We were not going to get it done this early but due to my upcoming hip replacement and their guarantee that it would be done before that surgery date, we signed. UGH! Well, mistakes started right away, including getting our phone number wrong and even though we called the office several times to correct, told everyone person that came out, they continued to get it wrong. I thought, it’s ok people makes mistakes but little did I know it was just the beginning. Starting with the guys leaving my gate open and my dog getting out and having to pay $85 to get her from animal control. She was missing for hours!!!! Now I have to say, they felt bad and tried looking for her and due to me not able to drive, gave me a ride to animal control to pick her up and even offered to pay half. So I thought ok, this is a mess but they are trying to make it right. Little did I know this was just the beginning. From making a mess, breaking a yard sign, the worker having long arguments with their significant other on the phone while working (awkward) they began their work promising to be done in two days. Well, first day looked promising although the guy told me that what I was told about covering the tile behind my toilet was not going to happen. I was bothered and when I said I cancelled my drywall guy, he offered to do it for me “on the side” while the toilet was out. He seemed to want to help and said he would take care of it. Against my better judgement I agreed. I also found out that first day that this guy had a family emergency and that he would have to finish the next day because he would be gone the rest of the week. Ok understandable. The second day, I get a text that some parts are not in. After no one coming by 1pm, I started to get concerned so I called the office and I asked what time the parts will be coming in. The woman stated that the parts probably wouldn’t be until later. I asked if the guy doesn’t get done, could they guarantee someone else to come out the next day to finish. She stated absolutely not, we cannot guarantee and she stated they do not guarantee it done by my surgery. I was not happy and made it known and she started arguing with me. So the guy texts that he will be there and it will be done. He gets here like 430-500pm doesn’t leave until 930pm. And didn’t finish the shower and did a terrible job on the drywall. Oh, the shower worked but there were no shelves, the floor pan had no texture and one of the shower heads was installed in the middle of the wall. Yes the middle!!! I was furious. It was not done and my bathroom looked horrible!! Of course, the project manager was nice and listened and kept promising to make it right. It took weeks and several no shows and me and my husband calling and calling (and the whole time I’m recovering from TOTAL HIP REPLACEMENT) until finally a different guy came out and finished the shower but he would not touch the drywall. So it took a month of dealing with them to get it done AND I had to hire another guy to correct the drywall. When we asked for a small discount to cover drywall correction expense and the fact they were not finished with install by promised date, we were told, “no. The shower worked, didn’t it?” Seriously?!! I wasn’t promised that the water would be coming out of the shower (in the middle of the wall) I was promised that they would be done before my surgery or at least installed correctly! So if you like being strung along, hearing false promises, no return phone calls, unprofessional behavior from staff to installers, leaving your house messier than when they came in, breaking your yard stuff, losing your dog, then these are the guys for you."

"We were extremely pleased with the work they did when we had our master bathroom remodeled. The entire process was seamless from start to finish. They were so professional when they were in the house and kept the entire area contained. I always assumed a renovation would be stressful, but it was not at all. Picking out the materials and fixtures was even fun! The entire team was great and they were exactly on time to the week. They were very responsive to any questions. I highly recommend them, and hope to work with them again in the future."

"This is the second time we’ve hired GA Chott during the past 15 years. We hired Darryll and Angie and team to build out a bathroom from scratch (no plumbing) in our upstairs attic space, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. The quality of the work is unsurpassed. We had an inspector ask us about who did the work so that he could contact them for a job in his own home. The quality and attention to detail were incredible. James is purely a rockstar – he works quietly (considering it included demo and the like), cleanly and respectfully. He kept us in the know along the way and really brought the details together. He was always available when we had questions and did quality work from top to bottom. Most of all, James really treated our home as though it was his own. The coordination of the project (which included several required inspections) was all handled by Angie and team. She is a great communicator, and that can’t be overlooked in a project of this scale. Again, she was always available for any questions we may have, and made it feel like we were their only clients. Darryll helped us navigate decisions and brought the full plan together. When we encountered a couple of small issues, he was quick to address and correct them, and assured that things were properly handled. This was a large, 8-week project. We did our homework and acquired several bids. GA Chott wasn’t the cheapest (or the most expensive), but they were clearly the best choice. We give our highest recommendation. You’ll be pleased with both the quality of the work and how it’s handled throughout the process."

"Shawn and his guys do amazing work. From the first time I met him, I knew he was honest and professional in what he does. There was a problem with flooring issue during the job and he fixed it for me. Just today, I had an issue with my doors sticking and he came to fix it. He is a stand up guy for sure. I would recommend his work to anyone if you are looking for a high quality product at a great price!"

"Had a small bathroom that I wanted to put a lot of new things technology items in. He took the challenge on with no complaints and gave us a beautiful new bathroom. Communications was great. "We attempted to have our unfinished basement finished in 2020. The project started in June of 2020 and was terminated unfinished in January of 2021. Total cost of the partial project was $75,771. Several issues led to the termination of the project. The primary was lack of actual project management and ability to take responsibility for errors by the contractor, which, in addition to being frustrating, contributed to the unnecessarily long project time of 7 months while still not being finished. Examples include: - An I-Beam for a heavy-bag track was to be installed on the ceiling. It was installed in the incorrect location and extremely poorly, to the point where flanges were overlapping. When confronted, the contractor stated that it just "wasn't finished". However, the correction required the complete removal and re-installation. Then the contractor claimed the issue was due to insufficient instruction supplied, even though all required information was in fact supplied. The installation crew was simply not competent and failed to install as instructed. - Wood panels were put on a large portion of the ceiling. Several conversations in writing instructed that there was to be no more work done after the initial paint as we liked the look as is. When painters were on-site for the walls, it was confirmed with them verbally that the ceiling was complete and not to perform work on them. However, they caulked and painted it anyway. When confronted, the contractor stated it was always known that this work was to be done. He also said it was only painted and not caulked, which was clearly not the case. Additionally, when shown texts and emails where we explicitly requested no more work done to the ceiling and that he also stated it was complete, he simply ignored it. - When ordering a vanity, he sent us to a shop to select one. However, when it came time to need the vanity, we found it had never actually been ordered. The contractor blamed us for not ordering it while at the shop, however the person at the shop later confirmed the hold up was the contractor not confirming the order. These are some of the biggest examples, but there were communication issues throughout the project. The termination of the contact didn't go any better than the rest of the project. We were told up front, in writing, that we would be billed for all services each week for the prior week. However, when we were settling up after the contract was terminated, there were many costs he was back charging for, meaning they were not billed during the week of work as the original contract stated. One of the items had no reciept. One of the bigger issues here was the painting. The painting cost was much too high relative to the original bid price based on actual work performed. When asked for an itemized bill for painting, it included painting work that had not been performed. The contractor ultimately removed the item for which he didn't have a receipt and reduced the paint cost by some amount. It was still not correct, but we agreed to pay to end the situation."
