"This was a fairly big kitchen refurbish job that included Showplace Renew upgrades for part of the kitchen, then new cabinetry to match in some areas of the kitchen that were re-configured. For example, the previous kitchen layout included a large double wall oven and a 42-inch electric drop-in range top. Those appliances were removed and the wall oven location was then re-built to house a tall pantry cabinet. The 42-inch drop in range top was also removed and the cabinetry changed to allow a standard gas range which provided additional cabinet space for the base cabinets and the wall cabinets. New wall cabinets were also added to the end of the island to make the island much larger and provide even more storage space. The china cabinet area included re-finished cabinets with new door frames, drawer fronts, and hardware, as well as glass inserts. <br /> So first of all, I was not totally convinced, at first, that the Showplace Renew process could turn old light oak cabinets from the 1980s into a darker stained, brand new look with an entirely new style for the doors and drawer fronts. But when they started being installed, I was more than satisfied with the final product. The mix of the old renew cabinets with the new cabinets is seamless. It looks like an absolutely brand-new kitchen. The new pantry was fitted into the corner with perfection and everything was professionally trimmed out. The new quartz counter tops are incredibly beautiful and the installation was perfect, including the new under mount sink. <br /> Tony and his crew really did a great job. They are perfectionists, and no detail is too small to address. There were a couple minor items that needed adjusting at the end of the project, and Oscar came right over and took care of everything. We are very pleased with the end result; the cabinetry, counter tops, and hardware are excellent. And the workmanship and attention to detail by the Antix team is highly commendable. Our old beat-up and dated kitchen with the blue formica and the light oak stain cabinets and gold hardware has been fully transformed to a luxury home kitchen that you see on TV, or during the Parade of Homes open houses. Excellent work, great team of craftsmen, fantastic results. <br />"

"I wanted to add on to the outside of our house, making an office, large laundry room, and addition to our den. I had heard from another friend that Isaac did a great job on her roof. He came out, gave us a bid and started within just a few days. We have hired him to do the concrete work as well as dry walling it in. My husband will finish the interior. <br /> <br /> I was so impressed by the quality of work, dependability as well as the character of Isaac and his brother David. Very nice gentleman. They just go to work and don't waste any time standing around talking about it. <br /> <br /> One other thing I was very impressed with, I had stated I wanted a french door. They ordered the door and I kind of expected it to be a low budget door to cut corners. <strong>It was not</strong>. It is a beautiful top of the line door. These guys have integrity and I will certainly use them again. In fact, if my husband waits too long to finish inside, I will hire them again to finish the project after seeing the kind of work they do. My daughter and son - in - law will be calling them soon to do some exterior paint work for them."

"It is going well. Chuck is an artist in building custom made cabinets for my kitchen. The original kitchen was not laid out well and with Chuck's expertise, we have redesigned a kitchen that will work for me and increase the lay out to be in the modern world, 21st century. I know that Chuck does other refinishing of wood products, etc., but I did not use him for that. I used him totally to redo my kitchen making and installing brand new cabinets with pull out drawers, European door pulls. Beautiful work and craftsmanship. <br />"

"They were doing some canvasing, and we liked what they had to say. The price seemed right, and we had the work done. The job was excellent. I have heard people say we could get the same thing done for less, but we have done business with Reliant, and liked the way they handled themselves. We decided to go with them for the windows. We thought the quality was excellent. They did a good job, on a timely basis. We would use them again."

FAQs for cabinets refinish projects in Artesia, NM

To find the best cabinet refinishing expert for your project, start by researching local pros and reading reviews from previous customers. Reach out to a few contractors to discuss your cabinets' size, condition, and the look you're aiming for. Don't hesitate to ask for references or examples of their past work. Speaking with previous clients can give you valuable insights into the pro's workmanship and reliability.

When speaking with potential cabinet refinishing pros, consider asking them several questions to gauge their experience and professionalism. These questions can help you gauge the pro's experience and determine if they align with your needs.

  • Do you offer a guarantee on your work?

  • Can you create custom finishes or colors?

  • Do you have examples or samples of your past projects?

  • Are you able to match the finish to other cabinets in my home?

  • How long will the project take from start to finish?

Regular care will help maintain the beauty of your cabinets for years to come. To keep your refinished cabinets looking their best, follow these steps:

  • Use gentle cleaners: Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that can damage the finish. A simple mixture of warm water and mild dish soap works well.

  • Clean carefully: Instead of spraying solutions directly onto the cabinets, apply them to a soft microfiber cloth and wipe gently.

  • Protect from heat and moisture: Try to minimize exposure to excessive heat or moisture, which can affect the finish over time.

It's usually less costly to refinish cabinets than to replace them, depending on the cabinet condition. Refinishing cabinets cost an average of $3,114 while replacing cabinets is about $5,000 or more. When deciding to refinish or replace cabinets, consider several factors, including how old your cabinets are, your budget, and whether you need to complete any other renovation projects at the same time.

It may be worth resurfacing (also known as refacing) your cabinets if they’re in good shape but you’re interested in a different look. This is often less expensive than replacing cabinets outright and can allow you to update the look of your cabinets to reflect your kitchen’s current style without having to get rid of them entirely. The cost to reface cabinets is around $4,300 to $10,000, and you can hire a local cabinet refacing pro to handle this work.

Refinishing cabinets takes about two to three days to complete. The process begins with removing cabinet doors, drawers, and hardware, followed by cleaning, stripping, and sanding the surfaces. Any chips, stains, or splits are repaired before applying paint or stain. After applying the finish, the cabinets are reassembled, and the workspace is cleaned up, leaving your cabinets refreshed and renewed.
