"Last night we hired Redo Cabinets to do a kitchen remodel. We chose them because of their excellent reviews and ratings from Google, Home Advisor and Better Business Bureau. We were very happy with the professionalism of their sales team and the thoroughness of their presentation. We look forward to the project starting in late July and we will post another review after they complete the installation. We are confident that it will go well because of the excellent follow up already received 12 hours later from Alex in their production department. Thanks to Brad, Thomas and to Chris for walking us through the front end of this process."

"I was remodeling my bathroom and didn't want to have to replace an almond tub and surround that was in good shape. John came out and in less than 24 hours, changed the color to a more contemporary white. Great guy to work with. Very happy with the results."

"Wade was wonderful to work with. He was very responsive to all our communications and flexible with the timing of the job. Jose and Mario were great!!! Their attention to detail, the quality of their work was amazing! We had a lot of white woodwork that needed trimming in, and they did excellent work! And when the job was done, clean up was all I could ask for. We will definitely ask all these gentlemen back for any future jobs!!"

"1st of all, we went with his company for the reputation they have. However, what a disaster. The original project was simply to paint the house. the paint was peeling off, so primer was to be used. The 1st team that came out to our house, had no idea we were suppose to have primer on the house. They looked confused on the concept of primer. I’ll cut a long story short. We expected the job to done right the 1st time by a team of professionals that communicated what they were doing. We asked lots of questions and even went to the higher ups to question the 1st teams workmanship. Communication was simply poor and the house was terribly painted. Our siding is and will never be the same as they put a bondo agent on our house and ruined the look of the siding. Their thought of fixing the peeling paint and never told us or asked permission to do so. I also don’t think they originally did 2 coats of paint, if they did, all the spots that were missed originally, would not have been missed, but covered up. In conclusion, after having a discussion with the next level ups and them coming to our house several times. we had 4 different teams come to our house trying to fix what the 1st team did. Also, 2 different teams come and clean up the over spray that was on our new deck! We do appreciate the effort from Amber and Joe, for what they had done for us, they were considerate and agreed with the poor quality of work. We are disappointed with the end game of basically telling them we are out and breaking our contract with still paying 50%. I would not recommend, our story has been passed along and many already know not to use them."

"After pricing at many local places from big box stores to specialty builders Dan offered the best quality for about the same cost. Other places upcharged for all the extra details that Dan included. The quality of his work is high. It is a beautiful vanity that is very well made."

FAQs for cabinets refinish projects in Ashippun, WI

To find the best cabinet refinishing expert for your project, start by researching local pros and reading reviews from previous customers. Reach out to a few contractors to discuss your cabinets' size, condition, and the look you're aiming for. Don't hesitate to ask for references or examples of their past work. Speaking with previous clients can give you valuable insights into the pro's workmanship and reliability.

When speaking with potential cabinet refinishing pros, consider asking them several questions to gauge their experience and professionalism. These questions can help you gauge the pro's experience and determine if they align with your needs.

  • Do you offer a guarantee on your work?

  • Can you create custom finishes or colors?

  • Do you have examples or samples of your past projects?

  • Are you able to match the finish to other cabinets in my home?

  • How long will the project take from start to finish?

Regular care will help maintain the beauty of your cabinets for years to come. To keep your refinished cabinets looking their best, follow these steps:

  • Use gentle cleaners: Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that can damage the finish. A simple mixture of warm water and mild dish soap works well.

  • Clean carefully: Instead of spraying solutions directly onto the cabinets, apply them to a soft microfiber cloth and wipe gently.

  • Protect from heat and moisture: Try to minimize exposure to excessive heat or moisture, which can affect the finish over time.

It's usually less costly to refinish cabinets than to replace them, depending on the cabinet condition. Refinishing cabinets cost an average of $3,114 while replacing cabinets is about $5,000 or more. When deciding to refinish or replace cabinets, consider several factors, including how old your cabinets are, your budget, and whether you need to complete any other renovation projects at the same time.

It may be worth resurfacing (also known as refacing) your cabinets if they’re in good shape but you’re interested in a different look. This is often less expensive than replacing cabinets outright and can allow you to update the look of your cabinets to reflect your kitchen’s current style without having to get rid of them entirely. The cost to reface cabinets is around $4,300 to $10,000, and you can hire a local cabinet refacing pro to handle this work.

Refinishing cabinets takes about two to three days to complete. The process begins with removing cabinet doors, drawers, and hardware, followed by cleaning, stripping, and sanding the surfaces. Any chips, stains, or splits are repaired before applying paint or stain. After applying the finish, the cabinets are reassembled, and the workspace is cleaned up, leaving your cabinets refreshed and renewed.
