"Mark Brand asked all of the right questions and worked tirelessly with the city permit department to make sure everything we wanted to do would be approved. Beyond being amazing on the phone with the city, his design fit with our mid-century home and anyone who has seen it is amazed at the transformation of our small back yard. We started this project with Mark in 2019, long before COVID-19, and completed the major construction in October of 2020. The actual construction began in May 2020 with demo, to completion in October 2020. Mark and his staff were with us through the entire process, communicating with our Contractor and Pool installer and keeping everyone in the loop and on track. I had never worked with an architect before, and feel grateful that my first experience was with Mark Brand and his team. Fees are explained up front, and although the fees were a healthy part of our budget, I know I got what I paid for! Communication with email and phone calls, as well as site visits were always timely, with any issues explained and problems worked through and resolved to avoid delays."

"Shilpa did an amazing job designing an addition to a home we bought. It included remodeling an extra framed garage into a master bedroom suite, laundry room and powder room plus adding to its size . The project also included doubling a great room to blend into the house with the new suite as well as opening up the kitchen to this great room and raising the ceiling . The design blends really well and will provide a nice open plan for living and entertaining I was impressed with how well Shilpa understood what we wanted and executed the plans in the time frame promised if not earlier. She also pushed it thru the planning dept. with minimal need for changes. The project is on going and is moving along well Shilpa is always available to answer questions as things progress. The contractor feels she is easy to work with as well. I really enjoyed working with Shilpa and easy her demeanor ."

"We chose Sami and Sons over 3 other contractors we interviewed with to remodel our bathroom, and we couldn't be happier. After meeting with Abel and Sami himself we discussed a very reasonable cost estimate for the work that needed to be done. Abel even took us out shopping to several tile and home improvement stores to fan our imaginations of what could be possible for our new bathroom. Throughout the entire process the staff from their front office to their onsite project manager Paul were always very responsive and helpful. This was our first major remodel and laborers were very knowledgeable about creating the bathroom we wanted to achieve while keeping up to date with building codes and city permits. Mario and Erick always asked us questions on how we wanted details in the bathroom to turn out. Always gave us suggestions when we were clueless, and always advised us properly when choosing fixtures and other materials for the build. It was very helpful and reassuring that the managers used the BuilderTrend scheduling app so we knew what tasks were to be completed and on what days so my wife and I could plan things ahead of time. There was a miscommunication about the work at one point, but once we were able to talk to the project manager and other managers on the job they were able to resolve the issue very quickly and to our satisfaction. Scheduling work per day could've been more efficient, but overall we loved the results and our bathroom turned out exactly the way we envisioned and we've been loving it ever since it's completion. "We met Mike at the San Jose homeshow.  He seemed like he had a lot of experience.  We liked the idea that everything was handled in house, from design and engineering to building. 
Mike was great at returning calls, follow-up and making an appointment.  My husband and I had basic plans we had created showing the idea of our project and were trying to get an idea of if we could afford to start the project.
We made an appointment for Mike to come by.  He called when he was supposed to arrive to let us know he was running late but would be there.  When he arrived, he seemed like he was already off to his next appointment.  He was very much in a hurry.  He did a lot of talking about his ideas, but not a lot of listening as to what we were thinking.  He did have some great ideas as to what he would do with the project.  He dismissed the research we had already done on the project.
After this brief meeting, he took the drawings we had prepared and told us he'd get back to us with an estimate for architectural and structural engineering services.   He never got back to us.  We didn't follow-up with him because we didn't feel like we would be a good fit.

Mike gave me a call after seeing my review on Yelp and on Angie's List.  He apologized for my experience and explained that his mother passed away shortly after our meeting.  Due to his mother's passing he needed to take care of many of her affairs and deal with family matters.  I hadn't contacted him again as I decided we wouldn't be a good fit so knew nothing of his family circumstances.  He had misplaced my contact information.  Once he saw this review he could find me again and called me to apologize for this experience.  He offered some services with reduced rates to make up for my experience.  He also asked me to update this review.

"I enjoy it every day. Thank you. They remodeled 2.5 bathrooms. Best Construction were able to install all the materials bought, saved pieces that i wanted and perfectly match the style. I saved money on the glass doors and mirrors. Items in my home were covered during the remodeling, so we didn't have much dust."
