During that time, I was falsely told I needed to pay an additional $133 city fee. I later created my own city account and confirmed that the only fee ever paid on the permit was $133, proving that information was incorrect. I was also told I needed to sign an affidavit for the permit. I signed it and left it with them, but they never submitted it to the city, forcing me to go myself and pay another $134 out of pocket just to move things forward. On top of that, I gave them a $3,000 rush check for fence materials, yet the permit still was not in place. Recently, they told me they would be coming to dig the fence holes after I clearly explained that a city inspector was scheduled to meet me on-site to sign off on the permit and inspect the holes.
