"The actual roof shingle replacement went well, they carried out the job on time, were professional, and cleaned up afterwards. The trouble we had came later. The replaced shingles in the front of the house started buckling, and despite several emails and a phone call, there was no response. We had given up, and then we found their ork crew at work on a neighbor's house. The person in charge of the work crew was very nice and came by when we asked to fix the problem. The real dissatisfaction we had was the lack of any response to repeated requests to address the buckled shingles. And the solution was rather simple - the foreman took out the covers of the gutters which were preventing the front shingles from adhering to the roof. <br /> <br />"

"I have used Randy's Handyman expertise 3 times beginning last fall.  I first had him come out to caulk around some skylights for me.  He was able to come out to my place within a week and provided efficient and quality service for a reasonable price.  Later in the fall I had him clean out my gutters and replace a piece of rotten fascia.  I didn't realize that companies that specialize in gutter work get booked up months in advance of when you really need them.  I would have had to book an appointment in the summer for this work but Randy was able to take care of it within a week or two of me calling him. Most recently in May of 2016 I had a problem with a squirrel that made a nest in my chimney.  Lucky for me the chimney only vents the water heater.  Again, Randy provided quick and quality service.  He cleaned out the squirrel nest and repaired the chimney cap.  I would have replaced the cap but it was much larger than any offered at Home Depot or Amazon.com.  He replaced the corroded part of the chimney cap.  This job cost $140.  I don't remember the exact cost of the previous jobs, but his prices seemed comparable or cheaper than other handyman service I have contracted in the past.  I will definitely use Randy again.   He is friendly, professional, efficient, and importantly he does a good job for a fair price.  Unlike other handymen who want to talk your ear off and sell you everything they can, Randy is focused on the job at hand and makes efficient use of time.  "

"We received an ad for 5 yd mulch delivered and installed by this company for $249.  I had seen their trucks around the sub and envied my neighbors' clean yards.  I called, Mike came out, we talked and added a cleanup to the bill.  He had hoped to get out that week, but things were iffy since we were expecting snow (which we did get).  I called him a week later and he said we were scheduled between 8-8:30 the next day.  No one arrived until late in the afternoon.  The guys were professional and worked with me as to what I wanted done and where to blow leaves (we live in the woods). They were very accommodating.  The mulch is beautiful and looks absolutely fabulous. They not only saved me tons of work, but now I can attend to jobs I haven't had the time to do in the yard.  I hope to make this a yearly event. <br /> My only complaint is that I would have liked more communication as to their schedule. <br />"

FAQs for lawn care aeration projects in Azalia, MI

Aeration is the best way to keep your lawn healthy and vibrant. Annual aeration makes your lawn more breathable and helps nutrients reach the roots, improving water absorption and reducing puddles where pests might breed. However, timing matters. It's best to avoid aerating during droughts, extreme heat, or if your lawn is battling weeds. A local pro can help you determine the ideal time for your yard.

Most lawns benefit from annual aeration to keep them healthy and thriving. If your lawn has a lot of thatch buildup—more than half an inch—you might need to aerate twice a year for a couple of years to get it under control. But if your soil isn't compacted and there's minimal thatch, you might be able to skip a year.

When you hire a professional lawn care company, a standard 10,000-square-foot lawn takes about 30 minutes to aerate. Uneven, sloped, or especially large lawns can take significantly more time. So, depending on your lawn's size and condition, the process can take anywhere from half an hour to several hours.

The best time to aerate your lawn is during the spring or fall when your grass is actively growing and the soil has enough moisture. Aerating once in the spring and once in the fall yields the best results. Avoid aerating when your lawn is dormant or right after heavy rain when the soil is too wet—that can make aeration less effective.

Even if your lawn looks healthy, aeration can still be beneficial. If you have good growth, proper drainage, and little thatch, you might not need to aerate right away. Regular aeration helps water and nutrients reach the roots, keeping your lawn strong over time. Keep an eye on your lawn's condition to decide when it might need aeration.
