"Unethical and Retaliatory business. Wow. What a horrible experience. Quick recap (yes, this drama is still going). *Typical is to replace electrical. $350. Same repairs for 40 years. *This guy does a repair stating not sure how the pump runs without his fix. $950. *Call to talk about the high price and see what happened. Always makes excuses - his repairs, the cost, what was done. *I left this poor review below. HE THEN REPORTS AN UNKNOWN DEFECT TO THE DNR AS A UNCOMPLIANT WELL! Clear and unethical retaliation! I now have a huge fix and repair bill that I am required to make due to this company's actions. *After this, I have filed a BBB Complaint, and reported this behavior to the licensing bureau of WI. Copies can be found online or I can send the evidence and dialog. In summary - Poor Customer service, Retaliatory and Unethical, and if things go well for your repairs you may be OK other than paying high prices. If not, you had better hope your system is fully up to code - this company will go after you. There are much better choices for these services. Original post below. Second time out to the well pit. First time, he looked at the well and replaced the electrical and said that’s why the pump was running – a couple years ago. Reasonable. It’s been a couple years. I left a message when he was on vacation – no response when he returned. I called again – no response. I texted Kurt and then he said he would come over. This time, he comes out with his $250,000 truck and lifts the well up 3 times and says that there are no bleeder valves which was the problem: Why wasn’t this brought up the first visit? He lifts the well and lowers it – too long. Repeat – still too long ($$$). One more time – that fixed it. (Not sure – his story changed from the first time he was out to the well) 2.5 hours later at $200 per hour (!!!), he says we won’t have any more problems. I asked if he checked the electrical and he said no. (Full disclosure: There was a snake down in the well pit – he didn’t want to go down, so he decided to fix it using my wallet!). I wish he would have asked if we wanted this VERY EXPENSIVE service before he spent so much time and my money on routine maintenance! I called to discuss the bill – no response. I called again and the receptionist was rude and abusive. Kurt called finally after my two calls and basically said that I could divide the cost up among others and his prices were needed to keep his truck and business running. He is looking after himself and not the customer. Poor customer service, poor communications, and a poor experience. Avoid"

FAQs for appliance (microwave oven) installation and replacement projects in Balsam Lake, WI

A pro can finish the job in one to three hours. Countertop models are the quickest, but built-in, drawer, and over-the-range units take longer because the installer may need to run a new outlet, modify cabinets, or add venting. Any add-ons can push the timeline closer to the three-hour mark. Hiring a licensed installer ensures the wiring is safe and the appliance operates at peak performance.

Because an over-the-range microwave doubles as a range hood, it needs proper venting. You can opt for a recirculating model that filters and recirculates air back into the kitchen, or a ducted unit that exhausts outdoors. Are you unsure which route suits your cooking style? Ask your installer for guidance before making a purchase.

Only microwaves labeled “over-the-range” have the built-in venting and lighting that’s necessary for safe, code-compliant use above a stove. Countertop models don’t have those safeguards. Before you swipe your card, have a licensed microwave installer confirm you’re choosing the right unit for the space and ensure compliance with local codes.

It’s best not to install a countertop microwave in your cabinets. Countertop models aren’t designed for use in an enclosed cabinet, and blocking those vents can trap moisture or even create a fire hazard. A built-in or drawer microwave is designed for tight spaces. Run your plans by an installer to make sure you’re buying the right style for the spot.

You don’t need an electrician if the outlet already meets the microwave’s power needs and sits in the right spot. In that case, you’re good to go ahead with the installation. If the outlet is undersized, outdated, or too far away, hire a licensed electrician to install a new one and ensure everything is code-compliant.

With routine care, most microwaves last between five and 10 years. To help them reach their maximum lifespan, wipe up spills immediately, wash the grease filter periodically, avoid using metal dishware, and close the door gently. Those simple habits reduce malfunctions and keep the appliance running smoothly for the long haul.
