Vivid Outdoor Living focuses on providing high quality outdoor living products and services to our clients. Our products range from Pergola, Patio Covers, Retractable Screens, Outdoor Kitchens and more! We service the entire Mid-Atlantic Region.
"George did an excellent job screening in our large back porch. It wasn't an easy task – he and his team were working with multiple surfaces and materials, unusually large window openings, and some unexpected shortages of supplies due to the pandemic. Nevertheless, George consistently communicated to ask our opinion on several aspects of the project to ensure it met our expectations, including when a screen door was unworkable (due to no fault of his), he quickly procured an alternative and installed the next day. George brought levity and attention to detail to the project, working to make sure everything was accomplished for maximum function and beauty. All this, and the project was completed for a very reasonable price. I would recommend George to anyone looking for a creative, affordable solution to summer mosquitos and maximizing your enjoyment of your outdoor space."

We are proud to have won more than 50 Angie's List Super Service Awards! We do everything on the honey-do list that honey doesn't do! Individually owned & operated franchise of the largest Handyman companies in the country. We are licensed, bonded and insured. All of our technicians have a minimum of 10 years experience and are full-time employees of the company. All work guaranteed for at least one year (any exceptions are discussed and noted on the invoice). And it's not just the small jobs! We have years of experience doing larger projects, especially bathroom remodeling! MHIC # 102097
"James McCarron came to evaluate the restructure of our outdoor stairs to allow us to access the water spigot on the side of our house but inaccessible because of the stairs. While he gave us the estimate for the approach for the stairs, he recognized that the best solution was not a carpentry solution but a plumbing solution which we supported. He could have pushed the carpentry option, but he gave us a solution that would save us money, time, and resolved our spigot access situation at the same time. His honesty went a long way to the credibility of the company."

NLT Construction has been serving the Baltimore area since 1986. We are licensed and fully insured. We are very proud of the fact that in 33 years of operation we have never had a single complaint filed with the MHIC. As an experienced design/build company we can provide you with the ideas and plans to complete your next project (over 95% of the remodeling projects we do are designed by us), or we can work from yours. We are very proud of the fact that over 75% of our current business comes from referrals and repeat customers. We do very little advertising and let our work speak for us. Our goal is to build lifetime relationships with our customers. We employ our own full time carpenters (do not subcontract carpentry work). This allows us to concentrate on high quality workmanship and pay attention to the small details. You can see the results in our work. Let us show you why our customers keep coming back. "DAVE AND HIS CREW. Dave of NLT Construction is that rare contractor who follows through on everything he promises, who can always be reached by phone or text, who responds immediately, and who is a pleasure to deal with. If he tells you he’ll show up at a given time, he’s five minutes early. Everyone on his team -- crew and subcontractors -- were personable and professional. THE JOB. This was no small job. Our deck was destroyed by a massive tree, requiring its complete demolition, the installation of 16 new code-compliant concrete footers, and the building of a new 2-section deck measuring 27’ x 16’ and 21’ x 20’. Duplicating our old design, the new deck had a grand 12-step staircase leading down to a pool, together with two additional staircases. Beneath the deck, Dave built an 18’ x 6’ shed with two wide 6-panel double doors to replace what had been sliding barn doors. He also did repair work on our wooden fence. THE CONTRACT. Dave ultimately presented us with a cost-plus contract which our insurance company readily accepted. His price was well below the insurance estimate. On the largest item (deck materials and wood), we paid the lumber company directly. We also paid Dave’s subcontractors directly. On everything else (small as-need items) Dave presented receipts each week for reimbursement. Dave’s overhead and fee was a totally separate contract item. The contract was therefore 100% transparent, with no markups, and no surprises. In fact, Dave came in under his estimate. THE SCHEDULE AND PRODUCT. Dave finished the projected 6-week job in 4 ½ weeks. He also recommended that he do additional work, at no cost, on a few items that he correctly indicated would improve the final result. The deck itself: sturdy, beautiful, delivered ahead of schedule, and everything we hoped it would be."

"Initial rep was great and informative. Felt comfortable with initial sale. Hardly had any contact from customer service except for the payments. There were several delays that we were not informed about unless we called to ask. Took 7 months before they showed up to begin project. Only 1 person was sent to build steps. Took a week. Hard worked, hardly took a break. Had to call again to see when they would come to pour patio. Never knew when they were coming, they just showed up. Hardly spoke with the homeowners. Inspection paperwork was just left on porch. Additional paperwork that is "required by the County" had to be completed by homeowner and taken to Court house to be notarized and filed and also provide a copy back to Long Fence. Time sensitive materials which added to homeowners to-do list. Gave this contract to LF on the surface of their history and appearance of a 'good local company' but should have stayed with original contactors in VA. Puddle of water forms when it rains"

Yes, you can paint your metal awning using oil-based paints to give it a fresh new look and protect it from corrosion. Oil-based paints are durable and help preserve the awning's structural integrity. Keep in mind that painting an aluminum awning costs $2.50 to $3.50 per square foot. Be sure to hire a painter who specializes in awning painting to get the best results.
Metal awnings are incredibly durable and offer excellent protection against the elements for your home. They resist sun, rain, and snow, keeping your space safe and comfortable. Stainless steel and copper awnings provide outstanding longevity and structural integrity, while aluminum awnings are more affordable without sacrificing performance. Plus, their sturdy construction can improve energy efficiency and boost your home's curb appeal.
While metal awnings are durable, they can be more expensive than other types, so they might not be ideal if you're on a tight budget. They also offer fewer customization options compared to fabric awnings, so you might have limited choices in style or color. Additionally, metal awnings are fixed in place and harder to adjust, so you won't be able to raise or lower them easily based on the weather.
Yes, metal awnings can increase your home's value by enhancing its curb appeal and providing more usable outdoor space. Their sturdy design not only improves the look of your home but can also contribute to energy savings. If you opt for motorized awnings, they add a touch of sophistication that can be especially appealing to potential buyers when you're ready to sell.
Metal awnings can last 20 to 30 years with proper maintenance. To keep them in good shape, regularly clean them with a vinegar and water solution a few times each season to prevent buildup and corrosion. If your awning has electronic components, be sure to service them routinely. Taking care of any damage promptly will help your awning perform its best and extend its lifespan.
