"We are 100% delighted with what we call our new "living area" and the work completed by Rotten Rock.  Our initial inquiry in the dead of winter was replied to the same day and a site visit almost immediately.  Henry from Rotten Rock listened to our ideas (a lot of the inspiration came from other work Rotten Rock highlighted on their Facebook page) and helped us see how a natural bluestone patio would fit into our rustic country setting.  The quote arrived promptly and we contracted the work, which began in earnest in the Spring of 2015.  The job lasted about 3 weeks and the team performing the work were prompt, courteous, hard working and always did what they could to clean up at the end of each day...we could see the progress because they did so.  They took any suggestions we had along the way (which weren't many) and answered all our questions.  They were accommodating of the other contractors - and even installed all the underground conduit for the electrician - and offered to help with the hot tub installation.  The attention to detail of the stone work is impressive and we are pleased to know that unlike the ugly old deck that we never used, we'll have an area that will last a lifetime (we have already spent more time in our backyard in the past two months than we did the previous 5 years we owned the house!).  We were away for part of the installation but was kept informed via email from the office, which again, was always responsive.  We would highly recommend Rotten Rock for any hardscaping and/or tree work (they removed a few trees for us a few years ago too) and would use them again without hesitation. <br />"

"Ken and Marcie were wonderful to work with from the initial inquiry to setting the appointment to the services performed.  Ken and his crew were prompt, efficient and courteous.  They carefully removed the stains and etching on my marble floors as well as suggesting an enhancer on the travertine floor in my mud room that brought life back into the stone and brightened up the whole area.  Ken was constantly checking on all the work to make sure that the crew was meeting his obviously high expectations.  He taught me how to properly care for all the stone to keep it looking beautiful for many years.  He even caulked an area that had been forgotten by my contractor that I never noticed.  I would highly recommend Marble perfect to any one looking to care for their natural stone. <br />"

"The basement floor had water damage from a very heavy rainstorm.  My husband and I removed the carpeting.  The area is over 1000 sq. ft.  We got several prices for this job. Most companies tried to over sell us products and services we did not want.  Jason gave us a fair price and did the job as quickly as possible. He understood exactly what we wanted and delivered.  It is a beautiful floor.  This can be a messy job but they moved fast and cleaned up after themselves each day. He returned our calls and emails quickly. We had lots of questions and he took them time to answer them all.  The job took about 4 days from start to finish. Had we tackled this ourselves it would have taken us a month! <br /> We had other issues with our bulkhead walls. They repaired them without costing us much more in materials.  I would definitely use Woods again.  Maybe when we redo the pool decking? <br /> <br />"

"Great job done. The reason for the low mark is this: the walkway would run parallel to our driveway which is asphalt. My husband spoke with Bernard and specifically requested that they use a concrete saw to cut the edge of the asphalt which was about 5 feet long, so it would look neat up against the new concrete. Bernard was not on site the day this was done, and one of his helpers dug it out with a shovel. It looked awful. Bernard responded right away and the asphalt was cut with a special saw, but the edge of the asphalt was now farther over than we wanted it. |     We did check 3 references that were very happy with Bernard's work. The patio and walkway look very nice, but that issue with the way the asphalt was cut really turned us off. I would recommend that you hire him only if he is on-site only for the whole job. | |"

"I moved into my current home in late 2016 and discovered that Southshore Gunite built the pool and spa back in 1986 when they were located in Hanover, MA, so I got in touch with them when I needed help with the pool in the summer of 2017. We discussed a pool cover, which I ordered, and resurfacing the pool, which I didn't order right away. While waiting for the cover, I realized that I had a sizeable leak (300 gal/day) in the underground pool plumbing and arranged for SSG to come find the leak and fix it. After they didn't confirm I called and was told that they just had too many pools to close, and they couldn't fix my leak this year. They did eventually come and close the pool and install the cover. The cover seems to work; see attached photo. This spring (2018) I wanted to avoid the pool-opening rush, so I called SSG to see when would be the best time to open the pool and find the leaks. The kind woman who spoke to me got back later that afternoon, having talked to her boss, to tell me that (1) they had not built my pool (according to the building permit, Southshore Gunite did build the pool, but probably before records were computerized) (2) they only closed my pool because they expected me to resurface my pool (I guess the $6500 cover does not make me a valuable customer), and (3) they would neither open my pool this year nor help find and fix the leaks. So, I'm looking on Angie's list for pool services. I can only conclude that SSG really only wants to build new pools or resurface old ones and that anything else is a distraction. I'm guessing that they service pools they build because the owners expect it after spending several 10's of thousands of dollars. I may resurface my pool this year or next, but it won't be done by SSG."
