About Us When you turn to BCB for your flooring needs, you’re gaining the personal approach of Camelia and Claudiu Bob. The newlyweds launched BCB to serve Southern California, but the company’s beginnings go back to Claudiu’s early years in Romania. “I started working with my father from the age of 14, back in Romania,” explains Claudiu Bob. “He was a contractor and he would take me with him to his job sites. He taught me how to install wood flooring and every step in the process: sanding, buffing and staining. I learned many things pertaining to construction, but I wanted to focus mainly on flooring, because that's what I liked to work with the most.” Experience After learning from his father for many years, Claudiu moved to America at the age of 19, and settled in Chicago, Illinois. There he broadened his abilities and increased his mastery in the craft of flooring design and installation. Claudiu lived with his uncle, who helped him hone his skills, showing him how to increase his speed while maintaining the highest quality. “After seeing that this was something I could do and handle on my own, I decided to open my own business,” Claudiu says. “I named it BCB Flooring, which stands for Bob, Claudiu & Bogdan.” In Chicago, Claudiu worked with individual clients, as well as contractors, which is still the company’s calling. "I had a kitchen floor with 20 year old linoleum that had water damage on it. When the flooring was replaced after the leak, the wood subfloor beneath it was not repaired, and so it rotted away. It had become so soft I actually was able to push my finger through it at one point and make a hole through the linoleum on the floor and the wood below. I explained this to Juan who came to give me an estimate and he said it would be no problem to repair the floor. I also wanted to replace the old white linoleum with woodgrain vinyl plank flooring. He showed me some samples and we landed on one that I liked. He quoted me a very decent price for the kitchen, and later I decided to do the bathroom as well, so it would match the kitchen. The day of the installation, his crew arrived within five minutes of the time quoted. They were friendly fast and knowledgeable as they replaced the rotted wood and fixed some squeaks that were in the joists. They were careful and accurate in laying the new plank flooring in both the kitchen and the bathroom. After the job was done, I looked at it and I couldn’t be happier with the result. It makes the house look new again! Thanks again to Juan and his team of installers! I would highly recommend them to anyone."

Yes, you can repair damaged laminate flooring yourself, especially for minor scratches and gouges on the surface. If you're considering a DIY repair, make sure you have extra matching boards to replace any that get damaged during the process. This method requires precise handling and the right tools to ensure a smooth, lasting fix that maintains your floor's functionality and appearance.
Replacing one or two pieces of laminate flooring involves removing the damaged boards and installing a new one. The best method for this starts at the closest wall. Remove the trim and pull up boards until you reach the damaged one. Then, replace that board and reinstall any planks you took out to get to that board.
Swollen laminate flooring indicates that excess moisture has permanently compromised the board’s structure. Repairing the swollen area is not possible because the integrity of the laminate is lost.
