"The company had repaired leaks in my 1996 barrel tile roof after the 2005 hurricane season. Other leaks occurred with the recent hurricane, so I decided to go with a metal roof. I knew that barrel tile roofs do not prevent rain infiltration onto the underlayment, allowing water flows into valleys to erode the underlayment, causing the leaks and rot. The code underlayment quoted (2 separate layers) is more robust now, but I ordered at extra cost an even more robust underlayment. The company contact was more than helpful in arranging for "custom" installation. The installation team was meticulous in doing the custom work, very professional, the company contact checked in every day, my property was cleaner when they left, the office answered all my inquiries within 24 hours, a real homeowner-friendly contractor. If I lived further inland, I have no doubt I would have been equally happy with the standard installation."

"I just had my roof replaced from shingles to Metal panels. I decided to go with a new metal roof due to a longer life and Hurricane resistance. I contacted a couple of local metal roofers, and Triple Crown Roofing (813-715-4617). I went with Triple Crown due to their many years of experience with installing metal roofs, and their value-oriented pricing. I got the most bang for my buck with them.... a better roof for a lower price. Their workers were very hard-working and did a great job, The Crew-Leader Ramon was very knowledgeable, and assisted with repairing a "Dead Valley" area that had a previous leak. When it comes time for your shingle roof replacement (mine was 15 years old), I highly recommend that you go with a new metal roof installed by Triple Crown Roofing, Plus they have the longest workmanship guarantee -- 10 years."

"They came on time and found the roof in be in good condition except to the areas that were leaking due to the improper installation of the solar panels. They repaired the roof where required and notified me that we found the problem quickly and so the wet area in the attic just dried out without any permanent damage. They were on time and completed the work quickly."

"Excellent! I text messaged Jesus on a Sunday, he promptly returned my text and arrived the next day to provide an estimate for the job. We had lost some Spanish roof tiles due to Hurricane Irma. Jesus actually repaired our roof that day! I have already highly recommended him to two girlfriends and my husband referred him to two neighbors. Jesus was prompt, friendly and professional."

"It was a little rough at first due to weather.  Once the weather situation had improved, they were here every day, Including Saturday and Memorial Day, to get the roof finished.  I could not be happier.  The roof is wonderful and I am so glad I went with metal.  For the record. the roof is no louder when than a regular roof.   My neighbors are asking about my roof.  They are surprised how affordable the roof was and they agree with me when I say it looks great.  The only downside, is that the roof so good I had to pressure wash the house to bring it up to the roof's standards.  If you are thinking about getting a metal roof, use Hickman.  They are the best!!!! <br />"

"We had our roof pressure cleaned by Reef a few years ago and when I contacted them again for roof cleaning and painting Victor was nice from the beginning. Got a quote a few hours after I called. Scheduling and getting the work done was a breeze! We bought the paint ourselves and just paid for the paint labor. They did an awesome job and now our 20+ year old roof looks almost new!"

"The last time we painted our house was in 1993 after Hurricane Andrew. I received letters from the HOA in my community that I needed to paint the exterior of my house, do trim repair and clean the drive-way. Agramontes Painting was the first company that I checked out. The reviews were so good that I decided to called Oscar ( the owner ). He came the same day in the afternoon to give me an estimate. I was really worried. The house was in bad shape, and I didn't know if he would take the job or how much it would cost. I gave him a tour of the exterior of the house and explained what needed to be done. He explained the process of what he and his workers could do and the price. The price was fair for a big house, in  need of a big paint job, and wood repair. <br /> I told him " the job is yours". Best decision ever! <br /> The workers were very nice, punctual, and professional! I am very detail oriented and pretty picky, but I must say that I had no issues at all, in fact I was impressed!!! <br /> They pressure cleaned the whole house, patio and driveway the first day, with a very powerful machine. After all was dry, all the wood trim was repaired and they went above and beyond to fill in all and any cracks around the house. They primed the house, drive-way, and fence and then added two coats of paint. The job took seven days but it was well worth the wait and every penny because it was a job well done that will last. It was a lot of work but they worked efficiently and professionally.  I highly recommend Agramotes Painting for any painting job big or small and will definitely use them again. <br />"

".They showed when they said they would and cleaned everything up.  It looks good.  I think they provide their customers with thicker/stronger boards to sit on while in the shelter.  I also think the shelters should come at least 5.5 to 6 feet tall.  Most families have at least one family member or friend that is over 5 feet tall.  If we have to stay in it for a hour to several hours, we need to be able to stand up.  They were careful with the equipment and quick.  I recommend you look for any cracks in your garage around where they will be installing the shelter and driveway, so if you see any cracks once they are finished you can have them fix it.  I also recommend that you tell your neighbors that you will be having a shelter installed and ask if they can move their vehicles out of the street.  Ground Zero has a very long trailer they pull their equipment on and they need room to turn around on/in the street. <br />"

"This job was done in February 2017. I just discovered I never finished writing the review. So here it is 3 years later. First, doing this review now lets me tell you that our new metal roof made it through Hurricane Michael with flying colors. We had other storm damage ($25,000 worth) but the roof did fine. The job was done on schedule though interrupted by two afternoon heavy rain events. First class installation by a team that showed up on-time each morning, worked hard and got along well together. They were proud of their work and and cleaned up the site when done even using a magnetic sweeper to lift any roofing nails that might have fallen. The roof we chose was white which made our house really stand out over the gray siding and white trim. Moreover, our HVAC bills were lowered (I track it). Last, I want to tell you that Guyson are more than just roofers after your money. They are fine local people. Recently, my 94 year-old neighbor climbed on his roof to do some repairs. He fell off the roof onto a concrete pad and spent 5 days in intensive care. 20-some staples in his head, boot on his left leg and badly bruised ribs but super lucky to be alive. Needless to say, he's not going to get on the roof anytime soon. I get "the cat claws" when I'm on a pitched roof. So I called Guyson and when they heard the story they came out and looked at the job. Although they are swamped and this is a small job they're gonna do finish the repair anyway. God love 'em. BTW, my neighbor's fall is how I found out I never finished this review I started in 2017."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Big Pine Key, FL

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
