"I wouldn?t recommend Montes Roofing for any work. They used improper installation techniques, tried to hide multiple flaws, and did work outside the scope of our contract damaging my roof. I hired them to do a siding/trim project using Hardie board panels and they used brad nails to secure them. Each panel weighs 76 pounds. Brad nails aren?t meant to bear weight and aren?t an approved fastener. Most nail heads are sticking out and he tried to cover them up with caulk/paint. The panels/trim rested on the shingles in many places. Most of the caulk pulled away and left large gaps. Without my permission, they installed a rain diverter on top of the roof shingles. I expressed my disappointment, and Manuel became belligerent/argumentative. He threatened to hire lawyers and put a lien on my house. He then tried to repair the roof but used the wrong shingles even after I told him which one was currently installed and caused more damage."
