"I am always weary when hiring someone for a service-related need. I recently purchased a new home that needed a fair amount of work prior to move in. I also was not in a position to take off work to address these issues. Jesse was able to conduct a walkthrough the day after closing and began work the next business day. What I appreciated most about working with Root?s was the level of communication and transparency. Jesse was always very responsive and kept me in the loop. Hell of a nice guy that I didn?t have any concerns about handing my keys over to as well."

"Thomas is an excellent painter. He pays attention to details and makes sure the wall is in perfect condition prior to painting. He did a great job on a two story stairwell. He arrived on time, put in several long days, and finished the job ahead of schedule. He is professional and friendly and has an outstanding work ethic! I highly recommend Start Painting!"

"Tony came thru and had all of the outdoor projects finished on time. We did have some weather issues but he & his staff managed to work around them. Very professional staff included. He power washed shed/house/and a two story deck. Then stained the deck all before the holiday."

"Tony was professional, honest, and knowledgeable and did a great job for us painting 3 bedrooms, a hallway, and ceilings, even though we were out of town as he did the work. I plan to hire him again once we figure out the next project."

FAQs for small projects painting or staining projects in Boon, MI

You'll need about two gallons of paint to fully cover your kitchen cabinets with two coats. Since each gallon covers around 350 square feet, it's a good idea to measure your cabinets or use a paint calculator to determine exactly how much you'll need. Starting with one or two coats of primer and then applying two to three layers of paint will give you a flawless, durable finish. Using high-quality paint can reduce the number of coats needed and provide a long-lasting finish.

The best type of paint for your kitchen cabinets is latex paint because it applies evenly and creates a durable finish. If you're painting wood surfaces and need extra adhesion, acrylic paint is a great alternative. We don't recommend oil-based paint for residential use due to its VOC emissions. For finishes, go with eggshell, semi-gloss, gloss, or satin, as matte finishes aren't as durable or as easy to clean.

The best method for painting kitchen cabinets is spray painting because it gives you a smooth, even finish without brush strokes. While brushes and rollers can work, they often leave marks and require more effort. If you're aiming for a professional look, spray painting is your best bet to enhance the beauty and durability of your cabinets.
