"The equipment was delivered promptly, and the installers arrived shortly after. Chris Hardin and Anthony were the installers. They were very experienced, well trained, knowledgeable, and did top quality work. Both were polite, personable, and treated me with respect. I tend to be a perfectionist and must say if I would have had the skills to do this job myself, I could not have done any better. I have never seen such good quality for any heating and air conditioner replacement in other homes I have owned. In addition to replacing the furnace and air conditioner units, some other items that were replaced were: suction and liquid lines, the exterior breaker box, condenser pad, furnace vent, insert in the vent going up the chimney, and the condensation pump and hose. The old furnace was situated such that there was not much room to change the air filter and perform maintenance. The new furnace was repositioned to eliminate that problem. This involved rerouting the electrical cable to the furnace switch and partially extending the gas line. My previous coil was never a tight fit over the furnace and therefore, cool and warm air escaped. Special care was taken to tightly mount the new coil and thoroughly seal it with silicone. Some insulation was even used around ducts nearby. All the old equipment, including the condenser pad, was hauled away. The work area was cleaned up well after completion."

"They come once a year. We've got a life-long contract that they come once a year and do an inspection for us. They're very thorough. They offer suggestions. Well, they fixed it. It's fixed. They're very good at fixing the problem and it doesn't break. So, the quality of their work is very, very good. As I said, they offer suggestions. If they say that in the next year, you're going to have to look into replacing this faucet, and here's your options. It's nice to be presented with the options. And they're very knowledgeable, all of them, they're very knowledgeable for their business."

"They are pretty expensive just to walk into the door. I had a water leak, they had to find a water leak. I saw where it was leaking, there was a leak up there and they didn't know how you could find it. They didn't try to find it. So I got to get a handyman or something in to take care of that where it's leaked trough my ceiling from underneath my upstairs bathroom. And they didn't show any concern for that or try to check it they just; they found where my leak was coming from and they had been here, that was the 2nd time they had been here and they couldn't find the leak before. And then finally they found it that day. It was nothing it was my water softener that was leaking. And I had to call the water softener people in. They dug in my yard before, I was paying these high water bills and they couldn't find the leak outside. Come to find out the city water company could have checked for a leak, yeah I found that out after I paid them a few hundred dollars. But I have used them for years. It's hard to find somebody that's reliable. They charge like a trip fee and then a service call and then so much and hour and all that. So I try to use a handyman when I can. Like for this leak since they didn't even say how I could check it you know they wouldn't even know where it was coming from. And they just got their money from telling me it was my water softener and went on. They didn't help me with that leak."

"I called Guelda on June 2. I decided to ask them to do the work because they had replaced water meters in my neighborhood and the work seemed to go well. I was scheduled for a technician to come out on June 6 between 8:30-9:30 AM. At 9:30 no one had shown up so I called to confirm my appointment. I was told there had been an oversight of the work order and the representative apologized for the mistake. I rescheduled the work for 10:00-11:00 AM on June 6. At 11:09, I called Guelda and told the representative that my appointment could be cancelled because no one had shown up as rescheduled. I called another plumbing company. At about 11:30-11:40AM, the Guelda technician showed up. He had looked at the faucet on the side of my house and said that it was a frozen pipe split. I told him that the problem faucet was in the back and that I had already schedule another company to come out and resolve the problem. At no time with either schedule was I called to let me know (1) there was an oversight with my original schedule or (2) that the technician was delayed for the reschedule."

"Six years ago I had 15 members of our family scheduled here for Thanksgiving dinner. It was the day before they were to arrive, and...the toilet stopped up. What to do?? I got out the Yellow Pages and started calling. Venhoff was the only plumber that answered. They came right out and the toilet was fixed in 30 minutes. I thought, well now, they will really charge me a high price because of the holiday. Not at all. They only charged me for the time they were here. I kept the bill, and when we needed a plumber here again today, I called them and they came right out. Again, the charges were really reasonable. What a find! A plumber who takes pride in their work and does a great job! <br>"

"Initially I was not happy with a salesman showing up to give me a quote for the installation of a new HVAC system for a rental property/condo. I just do not care for the salesman's pitch and promises/some that did not happen. Regardless hired Allgeier, based on a recommendation of a highly respected friend and was very happy with Matt, the thought he put into what should be done, and the installation (May 2020). Hard for me to gauge how well the new system is working since I rent the condo to a man of few words, that rarely tells me when there is an issue. My main complaint is I never get ANY booklets on the system installed or the warranty information. I have called David Shipley/sales several times. Talked to Chris (June 2020) who said they were behind on getting that info out and working on it, but, I would have it soon. Then I talked to( I think, her name was) Jennifer (July2020) who said she had the warranty information, on her desk and would mail it to me. She suggested I could down load the service manuals off the internet. I told her I paid $12000 for this system and did not think I should have to download the manuals. I have own several properties over the years and the warranty and manuals have always been supplied with the many many HVAC systems I have had installed. As of today Aug 13th, I have not received the information I requested from Allgeier."

"I have used Graham's Plumbing for several years and they provide consistently high quality service at a reasonable price. On this particular job, I needed a toilet installed. I had not replaced shut-off valves in the eight years that I have owned the property and know that over time they calcify and deteriorate; so I had them change out the valves before they went bad. Two of Sam's crew came out and completed the job in a couple of hours. They were courteous, as always, and cleaned up after themselves upon completion of the work. Graham's Plumbing has replaced a water heater for me on a rental property and shut-off valves at that property as well. They give you the option of getting the water heater or toilet from them or they will install one that you provide. <br />"

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Borden, IN

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
