"Angel and his 8-person crew from Apex Roofing completed re-roofing my 4BR colonial in one day! My roof needed a lot of TLC and Apex provided it: fascia board and plywood replacement where needed, new ridge vents, skylights, and more. They even shingled my cat house at no additional charge! Professional, prompt, great communicators, excellent clean-up, fair price. Very highly recommended!"

"What I thought was going to be a painful process turned into a pleasant experience. Mr. Flynn was very timely in giving me a quote, supplying information about the materials, paperwork such as insurance certificate , and not subbing out the job. Mr. Flynn's crew was here at 7:50 AM. Stopped for lunch at 11:30 returned to work promptly at 12:30 and was finished with the job by 3. They were all very professional and courteous. The clean up was impeccable. Mr. Flynn and his crew know how to run a business. Kudos to Robyn too for all her help. Great Company!"

"We had a new roof put on our mobile home. The fair price quoted fit into our budget and the work performed was excellent. The crew was on time, the roof was replaced quickly and the clean up was very good. Shawn provided me with the information I needed to apply for the "Roofs For Troops" veterans discount. I would highly recommend Pyramid Roofing "

"We had a rough time with all weather exteriors. -non NH crew (subcontracted out of Massachusetts) -poor workmanship (flashing not done correctly) -a lot of “that’s the way roofs are done” type of gaslighting. When problems were pointed out. -items we asked to be avoided weren’t respected (asked our flat roof to not be walked on, soft spots, and they used it as staging ) Over all very disappointed with this company. Got told I didn’t know how flashing was supposed to look, and got gaslighted into just saying “ok” and paying because fixing items was a hassle. “It’s a 100 year old house” -yes we know. We’re trying to make it better but it definitely felt like we were judged on this aspect, and were treated as such."

"The job went as expected - High Quality in every aspect. Quoting was done by Dan and was prompt, informative and competitive. Dan was outstanding to work with. He is knowledgeable of the products and materials to be used. Dan was extremely responsive in all aspects - from detailed quoting to scheduling and delivery of services to communications and accessibility. The roofing materials was delivered the day before the job and the dumpster was dropped off that morning before work started. The roofers showed up on time and immediately started working. They are an extremely hard-working team; everyone knows what their part of the process and just does it. It was obvious that the installers are seasoned professionals, paying attention to details. It was clear that they take pride in their work. The job was done is a day which means that the driveway and yard was picked up and returned in the state that it was found in. Dan was there to check in and answer any questions during the install. Overall, extremely pleased with the process and results. Thank you, Dan and the whole H&R Team. The roof looks great and I know it will be in place for many, many years to come."

"Recently bought a house on which EAW Roofing had done the roof 3 years ago. The roof had a leak and since the previous owner gave me the invoice, I decided to call them for the warranty. They went to take a look and blamed the chimney flue and after getting the chimney inspected and getting the report stating that it was the roof. EAW said that there was no warranty and they needed to charge if they were to inspect it and charge for any repairs needed. Just to get them to visit took months. I decided to check the roof myself and it’s the worst roof job that I had ever seen. They do not stand by their work. I would give them zero stars if possible. I would advise to use someone else as it’s ridiculous to have a roof that’s a few years old that’s leaking and in bad workmanship"

"? We had 4 skylights and part of the roof replaced 4/2024 for $17,000.00. The post construction clean up was exceptional. The roofing material they use is CertainTeed ( best product on the market). The new skylights started leaking after the first snowstorm. We needed buckets, and a plastic sled under multiple leaks in our kitchen and porch. We tried contacting them 3 times and got no response. The material and work is less than 2 years old and ALL of it needs to be replaced. Improving communication with customers would benefit everyone, especially since this happened to a senior citizen who is a veteran. This company is not part of the Better Business Bureau "

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Bow, NH

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
