"This tree was not only tall, but also very wide. It was rotting and due to its close vicinity to lots of buildings, removal needed to be done carefully. Daryl North and his crew did a fantastic job, ensuring that no property or vehicles were damaged in the process. The yard was too small to bring any large equipment back there, so they had to take small pieces of the tree down one piece at a time due to its enormous size by actually climbing the tree, but were able to take the entire tree down in one day with complete safety in mind. They came back a second day to grind the huge stump and hauled away the debris and left the yard so clean, that I could hardly believe that the 100-year-old tree had ever been there! I have the highest respect for Daryl and his crew for making this dangerous job look like a piece of cake. They were professional, polite, and very friendly and kept me informed every step of the way. All of this was done for an incredibly reasonable price. Also, since the city required me to plant a new tree to replace the one I removed, Daryl referred me to someone who helped me purchase and plant a lovely replacement. I highly recommend North Woods Tree Service if you want the job done right!"

"I have used Pacific NW Arborist's twice now. The first time, they removed two large fir trees, a maple tree, and a willow tree. The fir trees required the use of a crane. They spent one day delimbing the fir trees and removing the maple and willow. They returned with a crane to remove the remainder of the fir trees. All went very well and they did an excellent job of cleaning up the mess. The second time I used their services, they removed a large pine tree that had begun to lean and posed a threat of falling over. It took them about an hour to climb, delimb, remove, and clean up. Very pleased with their effort. All in all, I would highly recommend Pacific NW Arborists; very professional and reliable."

"Our tree was audibly cracking along the length of the trunk.  Our neighbor recommended Stumps Be Gone and they came out that day. We were told to call them when we received the city permit to remove the tree.  We called and they came out that day to do the work.
Excellent service.  All employees are friendly and did excellent, professional work. The branches were chipped, the trunk was cut into firewood lengths and the area was cleaned up before they left.
The stump removal was done swiftly on a following day and another neighbor came down to have them do some work on his trees also.  Wonderful experience."

"Our house has a very steeply pitched roof. It's a 1904 farmhouse and we have struggled with keeping the valleys of the roof free of moss, leafs and tree matter. Found Diimitri at PDX Roof Care on Angies List and we're very pleased with the work he did and his professionalism. I have a rather large garden area around the house and wanted moss removal that would not damage my shrubs and flowers. His guarantee of the moss staying off the roofs (garage and house) for 2 years sold us! After cleaning the roof of moss, treating the roof, and cleaning the gutters, Diimitri soft sprayed the house so there wasn't bits from the cleaning everywhere. Everything looked nice when he was finished."

"They did a wonderful job, and even cleaned up the mess my husband left when he attempted to take down one of the trees himself.  Great communication, very fast service and extremely affordable.  I have been recommending them to everyone I know that needs any kind of tree service."

"
After 5 years our trees had grown tall enough that we were losing our spectacular view,. Our property sits 950 feet above the street below and the back of our entire house is glass. Obviously maintaining the view is important, but we also love the nature like setting. that the trees provide. For us, although most of the trees were cotton wood, topping or removing them was not an option. Dilemma. In addition, we learned that Lake Oswego is very, very strict regarding tree codes, so we needed someone that was responsible enough to stay within those codes. Bigger Dilemma. Although we interviewed 3 arborists, it didn't take long before all roads led us to R and B Tree Service. The moment we met Ray, the owner, we knew we had the right person. He showed up exactly on time, and looked very professional He listened to what we were wanting to accomplish, AND it turned out that he is 1 of 2 arborists that Lake Oswego contracts with, so obviously he knew how to stay within their guidelines. He gave us an excellent bid, his crew showed up at the appointed time and immediately began working, climbing trees and cutting and removing the branches. Each day Ray stopped by to make sure that we were happy with the progress and in fact saw that some additional branches needed to be trimmed which he included in the original bid. Once again the view is spectacular and the trees look healthy.. Dilemmas solved! I highly recommend that you contact Ray at R and B Tree Service. We are more than happy with his service, price, communication, knowledge and professionalism. You will be too"

FAQs for tree stump removal projects in Brightwood, OR

Always transport chainsaws with the engine off and chain brake engaged. Use the protective bar cover provided by the rental company to prevent accidental contact with the cutting chain. Position the chainsaw securely in your vehicle to prevent movement during transit, ideally in a truck bed or trunk rather than the passenger compartment.

For gas models, ensure the fuel cap is tight and position the saw to minimize potential leakage. Keep the chainsaw away from passengers and other items that could be damaged.

Proper safety equipment is essential when operating any chainsaw. At minimum, you should have eye protection (safety glasses or a face shield), hearing protection (earplugs or earmuffs), cut-resistant gloves, chainsaw chaps or pants, and sturdy boots with good traction.

Many rental facilities offer basic safety kits alongside chainsaw rentals. If you'll be using chainsaws regularly, investing in quality personal safety gear is advisable. Never operate a chainsaw without appropriate protective equipment, regardless of the job size.

While rental companies will rent chainsaws to beginners, inexperience significantly increases safety risks. If you've never used a chainsaw before, request a demonstration from the rental staff and thoroughly review the operator's manual before starting. Begin with smaller, more manageable cutting tasks to build comfort with the tool's operation.

For significant cutting jobs, consider either taking a chainsaw safety course first or hiring professionals instead. The learning curve for safe chainsaw operation is steep, and caution is paramount.

If mechanical problems develop during your rental, immediately cease operation and contact the rental company. Most reputable rental businesses will either provide a replacement chainsaw or repair the equipment if the breakdown resulted from normal use rather than misuse. Document the issue with photographs when possible and maintain records of when you reported the problem.

Having your rental agreement readily available when you call will expedite the resolution process. The rental company should adjust your rental period to account for any downtime.
