"As usual, Marty and his crew were punctual and did a terrific job. I misunderstood and thought he was going to buy pre-cut stone squares from Lowe's for our walkway. Instead, he hand-cut stone and set it in cement - it looks like beautiful patio stone! And he did this for no more than the pre-cut stones would have cost at Lowe's! We were very happy with the quality of the workmanship, the timeliness, and the price."

"Average, they required a lot of direction and it took them several visits to complete a small job. They performed what was asked of them; however, I should have requested a firm price bid for the work since they took longer than expected.

"Everything went exceptionally well.  The job was done professionally and quickly.  He and his assistant kept at it til the job was done--I don't recall their even taking a break.  This was amazing since all the work was on the second floor and they both had to make innumerable trips up and down the stairs!!  He used the best equipment for the job and gave us a very reasonable price for all the work done.  Now our storage problems are solved, and we are very happy!  I would recommend Mr. Saylor to anyone for any kind of repair, remodeling, or whatever is needed.  He is honest and friendly and has the expertise to do whatever you need done.  We are very fortunate to have found him and his company to help us out and would not consider calling anyone else to do whatever we need done!

"We had obtained several quotes for replacing the roof on our garage. Chris's quote came in way below the other quotes and included several extras that the other contractors ignored. We are very pleased with the roof and look forward to CSN completing additional work on our home."

"He arrived promptly, on time and on short notice.  I had already figured out where the leak was located and he informed me that this was a "valley leak" -- a leak at the point where two roof planes intersect.  He needed to have a partner assist him with the job as the roof is high and steep but he stated that the seam/valley would need sealant applied.  He applied the sealant and informed me that the roof should not leak anymore (one-year warranty for repairs).  The whole job took about 30 minutes from start to finish, once he had agreed with my assessment of the source of the leak, called in his partner and got up on the roof.  He charged $400 for his repair which I though was high.  When I questioned him, he said that the sealant was $75 a gallon.  I still think $325 is still a lot for the rest of his time and labor (no more than 2 hours from the time I first spoke with him on the phone to when he drove off after completing the job), and when I checked prices on roof sealant at Lowe's the next weekend, I didn't see anything costing more than $48 a gallon...  I live in a large home in an upscale neighborhood and I have to believe that I got the "high-end rate" on his fee schedule.  To top it off, he suggested that I will need a new roof in another year or two, in spite of this roof being only 20 years into a 40 year shingle, and also having been checked out only a month previously by another roofer/repair man (who installed a couple of aluminum vent openings, and who was unavailable for this job on such short-notice) and being declared in "great shape" and not needing replacement for at least another 10 years.  The valley leak repair seems to have been done properly, but I would try to get an upfront cost if possible, and would also consider getting a second opinion if more work is recommended.

"Hunter is a very motivated, honest, hard-working individual. He's always communicates effectively his timelines and schedule as they develop, and I'm never left in the dark as to when he will be able to work my property. I've used him in the past as well for cutting trees down.

Tell him what you want. He's a multi-talented individual, and he won't just tell you an answer to tell you an answer that you want to hear if it's not realisitic. He'll put the time in to figure out what is feasible, and most importantly, what the truly right/best way is to tackle the task at hand. When I first moved into this area, too often I'd be burned by Good Ole' Boys doing shoddy work while being smothered in their BS. Hunter isn't like that, not one bit. He's all about doing a good job and getting you what you want for an affordable price.

He provides his own tools, uses quality equipment, and operates very quickly, efficiently, and professionally. With my busy schedule and the remoteness of the property, Hunter's timeliness and quality work is well worth the cost charged in my opinion to keep my property maintained."

FAQs for interlocking pavers for patios, walks & steps installation projects in Bristol, VA

The recommended interval for paver maintenance varies based on several factors, including climate conditions, usage patterns, and sealant type. Most surfaces benefit from resealing every two to five years, with more frequent attention needed in harsh environments or high-traffic areas.

Properties with significant tree coverage or water exposure may require more regular maintenance. Annual inspection allows homeowners to identify emerging issues before they require extensive intervention.

Professional service providers offer several advantages, including specialized equipment calibrated for optimal application rates, thorough preparation techniques, and experience identifying underlying issues that might affect sealant performance.

Technicians understand product compatibility with different paver materials and can recommend appropriate solutions for specific conditions. The efficiency and precision of professional application often results in more consistent coverage and potentially longer-lasting protection compared to first-time DIY efforts.

Optimal timing for paver sealing projects depends primarily on weather conditions rather than specific calendar dates. The application requires consistently dry conditions with moderate temperatures, between 50°F and 85°F.

Spring and fall often provide ideal conditions in many regions, avoiding both excessive heat that causes rapid drying and cold temperatures that inhibit proper curing. The surface must be completely dry before application, requiring several consecutive precipitation-free days beforehand.

Initial drying times vary by product type and environmental conditions. Most water-based sealants become touch-dry within two to four hours but require 24 to 48 hours before supporting normal foot traffic.

Solvent-based products need slightly longer initial drying periods but may develop full hardness more quickly. Factors like humidity, temperature, and air circulation significantly influence drying rates. For vehicle traffic or furniture placement, manufacturers recommend waiting at least 48 to 72 hours to ensure complete curing.
