"Dartez developments provided quality work. They were quick to respond, and extremely professional. I will be keeping them in my contacts for sure!"

"As usual, Marty and his crew were punctual and did a terrific job. I misunderstood and thought he was going to buy pre-cut stone squares from Lowe's for our walkway. Instead, he hand-cut stone and set it in cement - it looks like beautiful patio stone! And he did this for no more than the pre-cut stones would have cost at Lowe's! We were very happy with the quality of the workmanship, the timeliness, and the price."

"Average, they required a lot of direction and it took them several visits to complete a small job. They performed what was asked of them; however, I should have requested a firm price bid for the work since they took longer than expected.

"Everything went exceptionally well.  The job was done professionally and quickly.  He and his assistant kept at it til the job was done--I don't recall their even taking a break.  This was amazing since all the work was on the second floor and they both had to make innumerable trips up and down the stairs!!  He used the best equipment for the job and gave us a very reasonable price for all the work done.  Now our storage problems are solved, and we are very happy!  I would recommend Mr. Saylor to anyone for any kind of repair, remodeling, or whatever is needed.  He is honest and friendly and has the expertise to do whatever you need done.  We are very fortunate to have found him and his company to help us out and would not consider calling anyone else to do whatever we need done!

"We had obtained several quotes for replacing the roof on our garage. Chris's quote came in way below the other quotes and included several extras that the other contractors ignored. We are very pleased with the roof and look forward to CSN completing additional work on our home."

"Michael (owner) is a great guy to work with and works hard to make sure that everything is done well and to the satisfaction of the customer.
The job was pretty simple but my experience with contractors hasn't been the best since I moved to TN.  This project started out well, I could tell right away that he was very respectful of my home and family.  When we were walking around the house, I let him know that my 1 year old was sleeping inside and he immediately made his guys be quiet.  The funny thing was when we were leaving (I knew that the baby was awake but he didn't) I was talking at a normal volume near where she was sleeping and he reminded me that the baby was sleeping.  I really appreciated that he cared enough to do that and showed great respect for my family.
On to the job.  His guys came by and did the drywall in a reasonable amount of time and did a good job.  They also helped move a rug and some furniture out of the way for my wife while I was gone so it wouldn't get dirty.  The fireplace was adjusted and lined up with the wall prior to putting up the drywall.  This part of the job went well.
The tile portion did not go so smoothly although I don't blame Michael for this at all.  The normal tile guy was really sick and he didn't want to make me wait too long so he brought in another guy that he had worked with in the past.  This guy had many years of experience installing tile but he must have been having a bad day when he came to my house.  As my wife put it, "it looks like a 3 yr old did this" and "this is a tile job not an abstract art project".  The joints didn't line up and were all different sizes, tiles were cut at different widths on the ends.  It was so bad that I considered redoing it myself and even though I only have 1 tile job under my belt, it was much better than this mess.
I called Michael who immediately asked me how much I liked the tile, he was quite surprised that my wife and I weren't happy.  I could tell that he expected to find some small detail to fix but he was very surprised when he saw the work.  I brought my wife down to talk about it and he said that no explanation was necessary, it was obvious to him that it was all wrong.  The result was a very strong talking to and firing of the tile guy.  Michael also told me that he doesn't pay for a job that he hires out until he personally inspects it.
Michael came out the next day and personally ripped out the bad tile and completed the job himself.  It turned out perfect, he showed me what a properly done tile job looks like.
Michael is now my go-to guy for home repairs (as soon as this rain lets up, he's going to repair a leaky window seal).  We are selling our house and I have no problem putting him on the list of recommended businesses for the next owner.  Individual workers come and go and you can't always depend on them all to do good work but if they work for Michael Thompson, everything will be right in the end even if he has to do it himself.

"Hunter is a very motivated, honest, hard-working individual. He's always communicates effectively his timelines and schedule as they develop, and I'm never left in the dark as to when he will be able to work my property. I've used him in the past as well for cutting trees down.

Tell him what you want. He's a multi-talented individual, and he won't just tell you an answer to tell you an answer that you want to hear if it's not realisitic. He'll put the time in to figure out what is feasible, and most importantly, what the truly right/best way is to tackle the task at hand. When I first moved into this area, too often I'd be burned by Good Ole' Boys doing shoddy work while being smothered in their BS. Hunter isn't like that, not one bit. He's all about doing a good job and getting you what you want for an affordable price.

He provides his own tools, uses quality equipment, and operates very quickly, efficiently, and professionally. With my busy schedule and the remoteness of the property, Hunter's timeliness and quality work is well worth the cost charged in my opinion to keep my property maintained."

FAQs for interlocking pavers for patios, walks & steps installation projects in Bristol, VA

To calculate your paver needs:

  • Determine how many pavers cover a square foot.

  • Determine how many square feet you need.

  • Add an additional 10% to 20% for breakage and waste.

  • Consider your pavers’ sizes.

Or, you can hire a local pro who you know will get the right measurements the first time. This way, you get your weekend back instead of spending it measuring square footage.

A pallet of pavers costs $300 to $700 on average, and each pallet covers 56 square feet. The exact price depends on the type, size, and quantity of pavers you choose. Buying in bulk can sometimes offer additional savings, especially for larger projects. Ask your pro how you can save on material costs.

To get the best prices on pavers:

  • Hire a professional landscaper: Pros often receive discounts on materials, which can make hiring them more cost-effective overall.

  • Shop at local building supply stores: Check for overstock or bulk purchase deals. Bulk purchasing can be more costly up front but save you money in the long run.

  • Buy directly from manufacturers: Purchasing from a local brickyard or paver factory can offer competitive prices, especially for large quantities.

The main difference between driveway pavers and patio pavers is their load-bearing capacity. Driveway pavers are designed to withstand the weight of vehicles, whereas patio pavers aren’t suitable for such heavy loads. You can use driveway pavers for a patio, but using patio pavers for a driveway could lead to damage. Always check the weight limits of pavers and consult with a professional installer to choose the right type for your project.

Paver patios cost more than concrete patios because the materials and installation methods require advanced techniques and skilled labor. They deliver enhanced aesthetic appeal and allow for easier small‑scale repairs without affecting property taxes. The higher expense arises from premium paver materials and intricate installation processes that deliver long‑lasting durability and design flexibility. This robust solution provides notable benefits over concrete alternatives, making it a valuable investment for homeowners.
