"The project did not go as well as I would have liked, and had I not been home, it would have been done completely wrong. First they removed the old railings and wanted to install the new white railings to the deck before sanding the floor, I had to stop that. The sanding was done by hand and not with a floor sander so it didn't remove all the old paint. Then I chose a color from the chart they supplied and after four attempts to get the color right I had to settle for as color that was closer to the color on my house. Then she the put the railings on they tried to cut corners and not buy a stair railing but use a standard railing which they attempted for a full day to make fit. At that point I called the sales person and told him that was not happy. They did put the correct railing on at the end. Lastly I had a gate put on the stairway and the put it on so it swings into the deck instead of to the railing swinging to the outside. Had I not come home in time, they would have left it that way. To repair it they had to buy additional posts and plugs to repair the hols in the gate. Again I settled fo this. The price was very high, but I thought I was going to get a better end product which I don't think I did. The deck still needs another quote because it was not good coverage with the first coat of the color I had to settle on."

"Work was performed exactly as discussed and agreed to (match existing paint colors) at estimated cost. Start was delayed at our request due to high heat and humidity, with no complaints. Work was further delayed through no fault of Arch Painting due to continuous wet weather. Once a good weather window finally occurred, the work was performed quickly with no impact on us. As is my practice, the vetting of Gold Painting revealed a highly reputable 15+year old company: an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau (with glowing recent reviews), in-force copies of Liability and Workman's comp insurance, registration with the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs, alignment with a prominent local developer (Finnegan) and a recent "Gold" standard review from a Lexington neighbor. Our historic pre-Civil War property required the TLC that the Gold Painting crew delivered. Minor carpentry (above and beyond expectations), thorough power-washing, scraping, priming (oil) and top coating (Sherwin Williams Duration latex), and meticulous clean-up. Both parts of the ambitious two-part project (front of the barn (rustic red) & street-facing side of the house (extreme white) + painting and hanging 13 solid wood shutters-satin black); driveway-facing side of the house that required covering many windows) + painting the front door were completed in just four days. "Mauri and his team were great from start to finish. So good in fact I re-hired him for a 2nd job. He painted 6 rooms in my house after an addition/renovation and I hired him again 6 months later to paint the outside of my house.  Inside of the house was all brand new items: trim, doors, walls, etc. For the outside, in addition to painting I wanted rotting wood replaced, porch railings fixed and new gutters. House now looks top notch, both inside and out. Any big project will cost money if you want it done right, and I feel Mauri's pricing is the middle ground price you expect, which gives great value to the job you receive in return. More importantly, both Mauri and his team are nice and really do care about doing a good job, which is a unique bonus you dont find too often. Would hire again!"
