"My porch light chronically burned out, and on the same wall an interior light switch sparked when turned on and off. Therefore, I was concerned there was a safety issue with the wiring and wanted repairs as necessary and the advice of a professional electrician about the overall safety of wiring in my older home. I purchased the Angie's List Deal for two hours of electrical service for $99 figuring I could have those issues diagnosed, and if time permitted, some light fixtures installed. When scheduling the appointment Mr. Lucatuorto was very accommodating to my schedule. I assumed Mr. Lucatuorto would perform the work, however, someone working on his behalf arrived on time per our scheduled appointment. <br /> I was satisfied with the installation of the light fixtures and light switch by the worker, however I laked confidence in the expertise of the worker in assessing the condition and safety of the wiring in my home due to his contradictory statements made while working. For example, I told him that I believed my home was not grounded, and asked if that was a safety concern. He stated that every house is grounded, but upon looking, confirmed that my house was not grounded and essentially said that wasn't a bid deal. He also advised that my wiring was probably safe, yet talked about a friend with an older home that he had recommend be rewired that burned down due to an electrical issue. He even showed me photos of the burned down house on his phone. He didn't seem to be telling me this to encourage/scare me into having work done; if anything it seemed as if the was disinterested in my questions about whether additional work might be warranted (such as whether I should have my house grounded). Having determined he lacked adequate knowledge to address my concerns, I just wanted him to wrap up the installations regardless of the time remaining in the two hour appointment. If I were to consider hiring Energy Electric again I would only do so if Mr. Lucatuorto would do the work, rather than his employee. <br />"

"I dealt with Don who is extremely knowledgable and spent quite a bit of time explaining the difference between standard lighting to LED. He went above and beyond in helping us to purchase the two pendants that came with halogen light bulbs. We did not like the look of the halogen so he experimented with other LED bulbs that ended up enhancing the two pendants that we purchased. This used far less energy to save money in the end. Don was very patient in explaining every aspect of how this would save us on money and the detail of the product we purchased. They are not just limited in lighting but also in fans. I would highly recommend their services to others and I will definitely use their business as needed."

"It was Saturday afternoon and he was in the grocery store when I called. He went outside so he could talk to me. Most of my electrical upstairs had gone out and I couldn't get the breaker to reset. He walked me through the problem on the phone. Told me what to try (unplugging everything, resetting GFCI) and try resetting breakers again. While he was on the phone, I didn't get it to work, but I tried everything he said after we hung up and got it to reset. I am so appreciative for his taking the time to help me and, while he didn't charge me, I'm planning to send him a check for his time. <br />"

"I called and made an appointment with sprinkler repair guy for the above Big Deal (landscape lighting evaluation and tune-up). The main office for this company is in Southern California, which surprised me. We selected a date and time for service - and I was told the field person would call and confirm when he was on his way. The appointment was for 10 a.m. - by 10:45 I called headquarters. Staff was very helpful and said they would check with the service provider. Headquarters staff said that she had spoken to him and he was running late. She asked him to call us. When I didn't receive a call, I called her back and left her a message that we hadn't heard anything. After about an hour, I received a call from the service provider. He was having car trouble, and wanted to know what the appointment was for (?) - I indicated it was an Angie's list Big Deal for an Outdoor Light Evaluation and Tune-Up. He wasn't a good communicator, and I sensed that I wasn't going to get more than a cursory look at our existing system - and that anything beyond would be extra - it was all evaluation and no tune-up. He also couldn't give me a time for that day, and when he suggested the next day, and I named a time, he couldn't do it. He then suggested Thursday....., which I scheduled. However, after thinking about the interaction, I realized I felt uneasy about the whole transaction. The main headquarters staff were great - but I would be dealing with the service person who wasn't very helpful and that I felt uneasy about. I called the headquarters staff and asked if they had another provider in Sacramento and they didn't. Ari (the staff person) said she was very sorry, and was very understanding when I said I would like to cancel. She indicated that she couldn't process the refund, but that if I contacted Angie's list they could take care of it....which I did. Thank you!"

"I had left messages with a number of other landscapers regarding the work that I wanted done. Tim was the only company that replied, came out to see what I wanted done, and gave me an estimate. I could not be more pleased with the work that his two guys did in my backyard. It looks great. Tim did the fence modification himself, which I really appreciated. I would highly recommend TSD Construction."

"Dealing with James is a pleasure and both he and his wife are artists with rocks and landscape.  He came out at the appointed time of the initial appointment and surveyed the job and made suggestions on the process.  Promptly provided a written estimate of the job before he left that day.  I had suggested steel borders on the revised area, which he was concerned would not look good and suggested a concrete edge system.  A great choice.  I thought that bark chips would be fine under the existing redwoods and the new dry scapes, James suggested a mocha lava rock, not much additional cost, but will last forever and will blend in nicely with what the redwoods shed.   Due to  change in his schedule he was able to start earler than the original date and completed all the work in about 4 days.  I believe that he had incurred additonal materials costs for the job, but he only wanted to be paid the amount of his original estimate.  We compromised for a reasonalbe additional fee, it was worth it.  James is very proud of his contractors license and very knowledgeable about the requirements of a good conrtactor.  He continually asked if we had any questions or concerns and assured us that his job was to make us happy.  He has done that, and the neighbors and people that walk by all comment and the quaility aof the work and the excellent appearance of the completed project. <br /> I do wish that there was a way to polst pictures on this site, both the contractor and I are very proud of the work. <br />"
