"Celano was the electrician for my kitchen renovation and did other electrical istallations for me. Ray Celano is an absolute pleasure to work with - from day one he was dedicated to my project always available to answer my questions and communicate with me about scheduling and the work progress, and provided all of the required documents (License, COIs). Matt, Mike, and Dave 'the Team' were friendly and professional - very respectful of me and my home and they 'know their stuff' working as a team and including me in decisions - they worked quickly while paying attention to every detail, and cleaned up. Ray Celano personally followed up with me to be sure that I was satisfiedwith the outcome of my project. I am extreemly satisfied with the installations and with the very reasonable cost. I have recommended Celano to others in my building and would recommend Celano to anyone needing a terrific electrician."

"Brad Brown & team are amazing. I hired Mr. Brown for a challenging job at my 1950's home and he came thru 100%. His creativity & attention to every minute details was awesome to observe. He was quick to come out to our home, give us an estimate on the spot, kept in touch along the way as he waiting for special parts he needed to order, and showed up on time on the promised date. I would recommend Brad Brown without hesitation to friends and family. I will hire him without a doubt next time I need electrical work done."

"Frank and his crew did an excellent job. They ran new wiring and conduit and installed a whole house surge protector. The job was done skillfully, and they cleaned up afterward all with a fair price. I highly recommend Hammer electric!"

"Light On did a great for us! Jeff came out and evaluated our situation. He was very professional and explained everything that needed to be done and how it was going to be done. We had the following completed: 200 AMP panel replaced and moved, a new grounding system installed, an outside disconnect installed, a new outlet for a microwave installed, a new disconnect for our HVAC unit, and two outdoor outlets replaced. Hassan, Chris, Joe, Tom and Juan were great and got everything done in one day. We would definitely call them back for any future electrical needs. "

FAQs for electrical for home addition or remodel installation projects in Bryn Mawr, PA

There are several telltale signs that your home is due for an electrical upgrade. You may need to rewire your house if your lights are constantly flickering or your circuit breaker keeps tripping. If you feel mild electric shocks when you touch light switches, hear buzzing sounds, or notice burning smells, you may need to rewire your house, too. Discolored or burnt-looking switches and faceplates are another crucial warning sign.

Properly installed copper wiring in a residential property can last as long as 50 to 100 years in some cases, but many homes over 30 years old are due for an upgrade. That’s the timeline that many experts recommend, even if it is only a partial update to accommodate technological advancements, increased power demands, and changing safety requirements.

At $3 to $5 per square foot, the cost to wire a 2,000-square-foot house ranges from $6,000 to $10,000, on average. This can depend on many factors, like the age and complexity of the house and how easy it is for contractors to access the areas they need to get the job done. Opening and repairing walls can further add to your total cost.
