"We called for an estimate for a roofing repair, and one of the owners, Mike, was here within an hour.  He looked at the problem, knew what caused it, gave us an estimate to fix it but told us it wasn't worth the cost to repair.  He advised us to let the roof go for another few years and then replace it.  We elected to replace it now due to its age and while we had the money set aside.  He gave us a written estimate on the spot and returned in an hour with a complete estimate/contract.  The estimate included the cost of replacing 2 skylights as well as any damaged plywood.  We got a second estimate from a reputable roofer, which was higher but within range, except it didn't include the cost of replacing plywood.  A large, well rated company on here never bothered to call us back.  We liked Mike's professionalism, personalism and price.  Before making a final decision my husband called and spoke with 3 of at least 7 references from recent work.  All contacts gave the company high marks and we elected to go with his company.  The work was scheduled for the next week and completed within 2 days, as promised.  One or both of the owners was here all the time, often on the roof.  The crew was made up of regular employees, no temporary labor.  All of the crew worked hard, despite the heat and heavy work, and were friendly and courteous.  The workers seemed to take pride in doing a good job and thoroughly cleaned up after themselves."
