"Initially, I thought it was fine. However, I was very curious why the contractor would not let me talk to the insurance adjuster. He told me to stay in the house and leave everything to him. (RED FLAG) I'm not sure why I let that happen. After the negotiations and the contract was signed, the contractor advised that he failed to charge me for the cost of the chimney. We specifically talked about the chimney cost and how he wasn't putting it in the contract so it wouldn't alert the insurance company (RED FLAG ) He would just charge me another $1200 for the chimney or not do the inside work. At that point, I should have cancelled the contract. The contractor yelled at me that he forgot and he made a mistake. Yelled at me in a very loud voice. He then did that "used car" sales pitch where he has to go talk to his boss and then comes back and sends me an email that they will fix the chimney for free. I spent about twice what my budget was, and I really am mad at myself for failing to get other estimates. That is on me. The roofers put a new roof on - my old roof was less than 5 years old - not sure if a simple repair would have been okay and left a mess in my yard. There was debris from my gutters and little blue things that they use when they replace a roof. I told the contractor that, and he said "the roofers don't make money if they clean up after the gutters and feel it's not their job". Okay, whose job is it? Who did I pay to do a job? Am i supposed to hire someone else to finish up what the roofers left behind. My pet peeve is when I pay someone to do a job, and they don't finish the job and say it's not their job. That makes me so angry. Again, I'm so mad at myself. I know better. I just felt like at the end of the day I was taken advantage of. I don't think I needed a whole new roof, I spent twice the money I had budgeted, and I had a mess to take care of. I use Angie's List so I can avoid being taken advantage of and considered the "old lady" who doesn't know anything."

"Chicago Roofing Assistance was timely, efficient, and professional. They were able to quickly provide the quote and schedule the work. They went above and beyond my expectations. I will be using them for future roofing work."

"Great crew and only took 3 days on our 4500sqft roof, including 2 garages, house and breezeway."

"Calista started the process by contacting me about needing a new roof. She knew her product and gif an excellent job explaining the process. We decided to give home genius a try with the free estimate. Caleb inspected out roof inside and out and found cracked Boards (not surprising for a 122 year old house) and explained what HG would do for repairs bad new shingles in a way that was easy tomunndersstandvsnccgavevus a quote well under what I expected to pay. It was hard not to pass the deal Up so we went with the quote. Thinking it would be weeks before they started the job I was surprised when Devan the project manager called and said a crew would be out the next day. Sure enough they were and within 10â hours everything was completed. Watching the workers go at it, they did and installed everything Caleb and Devan said would happen. Quick and efficient is how Iâ d describe the workmanship. The roof looks great and I am extremely pleased with the results. I give a 5 star rating for the entire process and will highly recommend Home Genius Exteriors"

"I am very happy with the new roof. Daryl, the sales rep, communicated everything very nicely and made sure that I was given the best option for my roof. Mike, Devan, and Walter were the project managers and they were very helpful throughout the roof install. I wasnâ t able to communicate very well with the roofing crew but the project managers made sure that all of my concerns were taken care of."

"My experience in looking for contractors, you have to call 5 -6 and hope you get one to return your call. Sonny and Robert were the first to call. They understood and respected that I needed to get another estimate to compare costs. I decided on Montes Roofing because they were professional, fair and will stand by their work. They did a beautiful job on my roof. I highly recommend Montes Roofing."

"Mike and his team did what they said they would do. They arrived on time, efficient and did a great job installing a new flat roof including seamless gutters and flashing. I received three quotes and AWG gave the best quote for the warranty and the work that was performed. Thank you AWG!"

"I really could not have asked for better administrative and management service. The actual work and the carpenter himself was equally as great. The carpenter was creative in delivering a great product. I would like to assume that some carpenter would have charged a bit less, but it would not have been worth the savings to either get inferior service, a headache, or a questionable product."

"I absolutely love this company! Jose was very helpful and explained everything that needed to be done. I haven’t had any leaks or anything since. I highly recommend!"

"Our condo building was having roof leaks and Steve Case came out in Dec 2017 and gave us an estimate for a silcone roof. I was also getting quotes from 2 other companies. Due to the extremely cold weather and personal (on my part) scheduling conflicts, SPU did the work in mid-May. The guys (especially Greg) were very professional and punctual. Steve was very accommodating the whole time. The roof looks great and the price was affordable. I definitely recommend SPU!"
