"Todd and his crew did an excellent job. Our interior had not been repainted in over 20 years, so there was a great deal of patching and prep needed. We couldn't be happier- they were meticulous, and the house looks new again. We will be using Shelton Painting again in the spring for kitchen cabinet refinishing."

Customers say: Super punctual

"This was the second project we’ve done with Alan and crew. They painted the exterior of our home two years ago, and now almost the entire interior. Everything about the process was exceptional. Communication about every aspect of the job was great as was the workmanship and the clean-up. Getting nearly the whole interior painted at once is a disruptive process, but I’m not sure it could have gone better. To quote our 7-yr old, “Wow! This looks great…. Bravo!” Thank you Alan and team, great work!"

"Jamie does fantastic work, is meticulous and communicates incredibly well. The house looks great and everything went exactly as planned. I strongly recommend considering Jamie if you have an upcoming painting project, or any project that falls within his wheelhouse. This was the best project experience we have had with anyone helping with our house."

The paint was in pretty rough shape.
The polyurethane has darkened over the years. You can see where pictures were hung.
Quite a bit of scraping on the lower portions of the porch trim.
Fence is in good shape, but heavily greyed by the sun

"I am a big DIY guy myself and hired WOW One Day Painting mainly because I have a 3 year old that would have made it extremely difficult to paint it myself with the limited time I would have to paint it. The idea of having my entire upper level painted in a day was extremely enticing. My first impression of the job WOW One Day Painting did was amazing. They completed most of the upper level of my house including: hallway leading to bedrooms, dining room, kitchen, living room with vaulted ceilings, 2 story entry way, and staircase leading to basement in a mere 6.5 hours. I frankly was blown away by how quickly they completed the job. Overall the job was pretty good. What killed it for me could be summed up simply by the phrase "lack of attention to detail". Here are some specific examples of issues in attention to detail: 1. Laminant flooring had drips of paint all over the place. Relatively easy to clean up myself but that's not the point. I could have easily been resolved by the crew doing a quick once over and cleaning up the drips with Goof Off instead of making me do it. 2. Kitchen countertops clearly were not covered while painting as they also had drips all over the place on them. Again, easy for me to clean up. Could have been easy for them to clean up as well. 3. A handful of trim had been slopped on with paint and not wiped off. 4. Several places where ceiling texture ended up on either a brush or roller and then ended up embedded on the wall. Easy to fix myself but now requires patching, priming and repainting small spots myself. 5. Edging in several places still showed the old paint faintly through the final top-coat. In their defense, the paint I asked them to use I had previously purchased, Benjamin Moore, and for whatever reason didn't seem to cover quite as well as other paints. That being said, 1 more pass over the edging in those spots where the old paint was still poking through could have resolved those issues. Regarding #5, I contacted WOW One Day Painting several times to come back and resolve the edging and basically got the run around. I gave up and fixed the edging myself. I have mixed feelings on WOW One Day Painting. 80% of the job I'd say was done very well. That last 20% however kind of killed it for me to the point I do not think I would use them again in the future. It's true that I absolutely would not have been able to complete it as quickly as they did, however, I would have paid much more attention to detail myself."

"Evan and his project manager were very prompt and courteous. Carlos and his team of painters came in and completed a quality job quickly. The patched the walls an were able to match my existing paint perfectly. I have other rooms in the house in need of some fresh paint and Classic Finishes will be the first contractor I contact."

FAQs for exterior home or structure paint or stain projects in Burnsville, MN

Painting vinyl siding is a budget-friendly way to revive curb appeal without paying for new panels. As long as the boards aren’t warped, cracked, or leaking, a coat of high-quality acrylic paint can buy you another five to 10 years before replacement.

Stick to lighter shades so the siding doesn’t soak up excess heat, and prep the surface well for the paint to bond. If you’re seeing rot or moisture damage, skip the paint and plan for new siding instead.

High-quality acrylic paint is recommended for vinyl siding. Acrylic paint adheres firmly to vinyl surfaces and resists peeling and fading, providing a sleek and long-lasting finish. Ensure the siding is thoroughly cleaned and prepared for optimal results. Your exterior painting pro has the expertise to properly prepare your siding’s surface to ensure proper adhesion.

Priming is not required if the vinyl siding remains in good condition and is properly cleaned. However, if the original color is severely faded or the panels have become porous, priming becomes essential. Priming provides a smooth, even base that improves paint adhesion and enhances durability, ensuring the acrylic finish adheres properly and lasts longer.

A paint sprayer is the quickest, most consistent way to coat vinyl siding. The fine mist reaches grooves a roller can miss and lays down an even layer in a fraction of the time. You’ll still need a brush for tight corners, but a sprayer slashes labor hours and reduces lap marks.

If you’re renting equipment, ask the supplier for a tip size made for exterior acrylics so the paint atomizes correctly and sticks to the siding.

Painted vinyl siding lasts between five and 10 years. The durability depends on the quality of the surface preparation and the local climate conditions. When the siding is thoroughly cleaned and prepped, and high-quality acrylic paint is used, the finish endures longer. In hotter regions, the lifespan may be closer to five years, while cooler climates help extend it.
