"It was a big build. Coordination of trades was important. Their work to navigate permits with multiple government agencies kept the project on track and on budget. . It's drawn a lot of neighborhood attention. One of the goals was to make this large shop fit into the neighborhood. Job well done. "

"Excellent, no problems. My car was new the first year I used the service and there has never been any damage during the transports. The men picking up and delivering the car have always been pleasant and cooperative. Both Ely and Guy at United Transport has been highly responsive to my needs. I would highly recommend this company."

"I received an elevator kit and assembled it myself. The instructions were OUTSTANDING! Clear, concise, comprehensive. Hired someone to cut the hole in the garage attic floor and installed it myself."

"I purchased a metal roof. The installers removed all the old asphalt shingles, put down a new roof deck, covered the new roof deck with asphalt, and installed the steel roof on top of that. The roof looks even better than I thought it would. It almost has the appearance of slate or tile because of the texture. I did not purchase the premium roof package, and am pleased with the look. Six crew members arrived and worked hard for 3 full days, with only a short break for lunch. They were polite, professional, thoroughly cleaned up each day before leaving, and returned promptly the next morning to finish up the work. The double lifetime warranty against leaks takes all worries away after purchasing a 1950's home. The roof was expensive, but with energy savings, homeowner's insurance savings, and increased resale value for my home, it will be worth the expense. The chimney flashing that came with the new roof is 10 times better than the flashing and tar that was there before. Financing was quick and easy and pre-job and after-job communication has been very good. By the way, I had AWS entry doors installed on this old house and there were no drafts at all. My house was warm and draft free all winter."

"Stephen was awesome to work with and his work is outstanding. We are SO happy with our new railings, they make the entire house look brand new. If you need work done in the Grand Haven/Holland area, don't hesitate to go with Northern Lights Construction. I've worked with a lot of contractors and Stephen is top notch. Highly recommend."

"We were very pleased with the process (even with the unexpected challenges of going through a remodel during a pandemic), and we love the results. Ted and his whole team are conscientious, professional, and pleasant. Their top concern was always that we were pleased, and if something ever needed to be corrected it was done so quickly. We particularly liked the fact that Ted partners with a wonderful interior designer. Due to the scope of our project, we opted to utilize this service. The collaboration between the entire team was a real benefit and ensured the best results possible."

FAQs for remodel to accommodate a disability projects in Byron-Center, MI

Standard Medicare coverage often doesn't extend to home modifications, such as roll-in showers. In specific circumstances where medical necessity is clearly established, limited coverage might be available through certain Medicare programs. Many homeowners explore alternative funding sources such as home modification grants, veterans' benefits, or specialized financing programs designed for accessibility improvements. Consulting with a Medicare representative about your specific situation provides the most accurate guidance.

Roll-in showers deliver significant benefits beyond their monetary return, particularly in terms of safety, independence, and long-term accessibility. By eliminating barriers to bathing, these installations help prevent falls while accommodating mobility devices, such as wheelchairs or walkers. Their open design creates a contemporary appearance that appeals to many homebuyers. For households planning to age in place or accommodate family members with mobility challenges, the functional advantages often outweigh pure financial considerations.

A standard roll-in shower installation takes two to four days. Projects requiring extensive renovation or plumbing changes may take longer, potentially extending to several weeks or months. Factors affecting the timeline include existing bathroom configuration, permit processing times, contractor availability, and material delivery schedules. Creating proper drainage slopes often requires additional preparation time compared to traditional shower installations, particularly when modifying existing floor structures.
