"We called Mark to repair leaking (gushing) supply lines to a bathroom faucet and he came out in a timely manner.  Not only did he replace the supply lines with better quality lines, but he took care of a couple of other plumbing problems while he was at the house.  I'd suspected that there was a leak behind the wall of the main floor shower and asked another tradesman to check it out a few months ago.  Mark inspected the pipes from an access panel in the adjacent linen closet, found the leak and fixed it.  He then replaced leaky valves in the laundry room right above the laundry sink.   All of this was completed within an hour, so we only paid $85 for labor!! <br />"

"Lee and I communicated via phone on a Friday and set an appointment for Monday as he was booked up the Friday I called. However, he called a few hours later and had time to come address the issue that day if I wanted! Even though I kept the original Monday appointment, I appreciated that he called back and could have worked my job in if needed. When Monday came, Lee called to check in when he said he would and showed up on time with everything needed to get the job done. He even left some plumbing supplies to prevent the issue from happening in the future, free of charge. Start to finish it took less than half an hour, and when I asked Lee to clean out my garage line since I had him there, he did not hesitate. It is great when a job is done well, but it is even better when it is done with true customer service in mind. As an added bonus, it wasn't even financially painful as far as home repairs go! All in all I can't imagine being happier with the service Lee with Jetter Clean provided. I would recommend him to anyone needing this type of service, hands down!"

"It went very well. After a bit of a wait, I received a very comprehensive report of 88 specific items as well as bacteria, fungi and particles. Each Item detected over the EPA drinking water limits had an explanation sheet. Also provided was a contact person at the company to address any questions you had about the report findings. I thought the service was well worth the $300 just for the peace of mind. I intend to use the company on an annual basis going forward."

"Scheduling was a little difficult, but he was always there when he said he would be. He charged me exactly what the estimate was. He did extra work that was not in the estimate, including supplies, for no charge. He returned the next day to take care of a warrantee issue. The manufacturer was not going to compensate him, but he did not charge me. Excellent service and craftsmanship!!"

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Byron, MN

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
