"Our home is entirely wood.It hadn't been painted or stained in years. Larry and his crew did a great job making sure everything was protected before they started working and cleaned up like they had never been there. Our home looks beautiful"

"Thomas is an excellent painter. He pays attention to details and makes sure the wall is in perfect condition prior to painting. He did a great job on a two story stairwell. He arrived on time, put in several long days, and finished the job ahead of schedule. He is professional and friendly and has an outstanding work ethic! I highly recommend Start Painting!"

"Tony came thru and had all of the outdoor projects finished on time. We did have some weather issues but he & his staff managed to work around them. Very professional staff included. He power washed shed/house/and a two story deck. Then stained the deck all before the holiday."

Small jobs welcome

"Very friendly and respectful. Did the job in a timely manner. The only problem was there is still old painting showing through. Lots of missed spots where paint wasn't applied enough to. Just wished they did a thorough last lookover before leaving."

FAQs for small projects painting or staining projects in Cadillac, MI

You'll need about two gallons of paint to fully cover your kitchen cabinets with two coats. Since each gallon covers around 350 square feet, it's a good idea to measure your cabinets or use a paint calculator to determine exactly how much you'll need. Starting with one or two coats of primer and then applying two to three layers of paint will give you a flawless, durable finish. Using high-quality paint can reduce the number of coats needed and provide a long-lasting finish.

The best type of paint for your kitchen cabinets is latex paint because it applies evenly and creates a durable finish. If you're painting wood surfaces and need extra adhesion, acrylic paint is a great alternative. We don't recommend oil-based paint for residential use due to its VOC emissions. For finishes, go with eggshell, semi-gloss, gloss, or satin, as matte finishes aren't as durable or as easy to clean.

The best method for painting kitchen cabinets is spray painting because it gives you a smooth, even finish without brush strokes. While brushes and rollers can work, they often leave marks and require more effort. If you're aiming for a professional look, spray painting is your best bet to enhance the beauty and durability of your cabinets.
