"Michael, the owner of MNW Construction, was awesome to work with. This bathroom remodel had special circumstances around it for a disabled family member and Mike took all factors into consideration. He listened to our needs, envisioned a functional design, picked out all materials, fixtures, colors, while working well within our set budget. Mike is extremely talented, educated and passionate about his trade and is a hard working business owner. He and his crew are great to work with and take pride in their work. Highly recommend!"

"I want to recommend Fonseca and Griffin Plumbing in East Syracuse. I called them about 2 months ago to fix a leak under a bathroom sink. Plumber Jason came and fixed the leak. But the problem reappeared today and Jason juggled his work schedule to return immediately to fix it. Turns out that the new leak was from a different source than the original problem—nonetheless, Jason and the company agreed to adjust the charge for the second visit in a very fair manner. I judge a company both by their expertise and customer care—and give Fonseca and Griffin high marks in both areas!"

"The work was well done, Buddy repaired the problem (I could hear him upstairs cursing the stupid engineer who designed the part).  Bud is always on time, works right along-does not waste time, thorough, nice guy and always cleans up after himself.  I remember his father doing plumbing work for my parents when I was a wee one.  These guys are great, not cheap, but the very best and will always make things right. <br />"

"Brian and his crew did amazing work getting several spaces in our home updated and functional, and really completing a long and varied to-do list! They got our finished basement remodeled following a sewage backup and remediation. They removed remaining carpet and replaced with luxury vinyl floor, hung clean drywall, and added finishes that hadn’t been there previously. The family room remodel involved removal of a LARGE brick mantle and hearth with a wood-burning fireplace insert, with removal of old carpeting and old trim. They hung fresh drywall, installed vinyl flooring and hung new doors; they recommended conserving a staircase by staining the wood steps to match the vinyl and it turned out PERFECTLY. We were so appreciative of their suggestions to reuse existing pieces where it made sense. They helped us repair a couple DIY light fixture installations that had gone wonky, AND identified and resolved a water issue that had caused damage coming through 2 stories of the house. They worked clean, the finishes are all beautiful, and most of all, they were willing to adjust the scope of their projects on the fly to ensure we were completely satisfied. We will be calling Brian again for another list of upgrades!"

"We asked the Bair team out to our newly purchased home to review some items that we had found out needed repair or replace during our home inspection.  Tony called out the same items that our inspector had mentioned and offered us several options to help meet our needs and our budget.  He is very knowledgeable about the items he services.  We had asked for a larger hot water heater because we were concerned that with a family of 4 that replacing with the same size wouldn't be sufficient but he talked us out of it explaining there was no need for us to spend the extra money and provided right there on the spot gallons per minute used by a bath, shower, dishwasher, laundry, etc.  Most contractors wouldn't have tried to talk us out of it knowing it wasn't best for us because it would have been a bigger sale/job for them.  Tony is very reasonable and I trust that whatever he suggests is what is best for our situation.  He even provided me in my quote information on all the rebates that National Grid was offering and how that would help me offset all my costs even more!  <br /> <br /> Tony and his team are all very professional and courteous.  They put on booties to cover their shoes as they walked through the home, laid down cardboard from basement to front door to protect the floors from any debris as they carried out the old furnace and hot water tank.  They were very quiet and courteous during the work.  I work from home and when they heard me on a call, they would stop any noise without me even asking! <br /> <br /> During the installation, Tony and his assistant turned the entire furnace 180' and moved the water tank to the other side as to make better use of the space in the basement and free up a large section for more storage.  He also replaced our undersized cold air return  and filter slot.  He installed a cover on the filter slot and sealed all supply and return ducts in the basement.  Due to the new power venting, Tony had to run new electrical since we didn't have any outlets available to power it.  <br /> <br /> Everything is working great and meets the needs or our family as Tony recommended.  This is the second house that we've had Bair Mechanical in and we will continue to use them for all of our Heating/AC and plumbing needs!"

"We are very pleased with our kitchen remodel. Amy Nathan guided us through the process. She made excellent suggestions while paying attention to every detail. The sub contractors did excellent work and they were extremely courteous. Mark Taylor facilitated the progress and kept us well informed every step of the way. "We tried for a year and a half to find a good contractor for our addition, with no luck, until a friend recommended Modern Home Contractors. Vince quickly gave us an estimate, and got the project started when he said they would, and stayed with it until it was done. Because it was an addition, we had architect's plans to get the permit, but wish we had talked to Vince before we had the plans completed - he had a lot of suggestions on how to do things better, and actually went and met with the architect to get some changes approved. We're very happy with the new screen room and the refurbishing of our deck, and would happily recommend MHC for residential renovations and remodeling."

">The owner/operator met at my home, reviewed my existing furnace, and provided recommendations for size, efficiency, and functions (central air) for the appropriate furnace. >A date/time was scheduled to install my new furnace - I wasn't able to be at the home....the installation was timely, the owner was accommodating with access to my home, full information regarding the unit i purchased, the programmable thermostat that was installed, and documentation needed to request a rebate with the local power authority were are provided. FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Canastota, NY

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
