"I had a clogged kitchen sink. I tried a variety of methods but the clog got worse. Sewer Renewal Specialists sent Tony to assess the problem and unclog the drain. Tony identified a cleanout right under the sink and unclogged it using a plumbing snake through that cleanout.. The water drains fine now. I'm happy with the work done and with the company's prompt response to my issue."

"Pipeline plumber Chris did an excellent job taking apart and repairing a linking kitchen sink faucet. The faucet was not standard and had to be taken apart for repair. Chris's work was superb and the repair was a success. Pipeline doesn't excellent job scheduling its plumbers. I would recommend this company for plumbing needs."

"Positive – Plumber performed good quality work. Negatives – Low quote seemed great on initial inspection but final bill was > x3 quoted amount. Initial job inspection/quote did not properly scope the job resulting in plumber being dispatched without standard/required tools. Customer then charged for this error at $200/hr. to source necessary tools. In future will look elsewhere for a transparent, professional plumbing outfit who arrive prepared to perform work."

"They installed our toilet in 2020. We then rented our home out. Now in 2023 we move back in to find sewage dripping in our crawlspace. Upon investigation, it’s coming from the O ring of toilet. They put a plastic ring on with no seal under. Not only is there sewage in crawlspace, but our subfloor is crumbling. This is an astronomical expense. We had them also relocate a water shutoff valve in crawlspace. On inspection, they used amateurish shark bites on all connections, leaving us prone to major leaks. The contractor who fixed everything asked us if it was a diy job. They were shocked to find out we paid and hired this work out to a professional."

"When I bought my house nearly twenty years ago, I promised myself that I would do everything that I could to take good care of it. My home is a 1941 bungalow, and all the plumbing needed to be updated. Thankfully, I found Pacific Crest Plumbing on Angie’s list, and for the past eighteen years Nick, the owner, has faithfully and skillfully responded to all of my SOS plumbing calls. He has navigated the tricky basement stairs with a bulky water heater in tow and installed it with a special alarm that will ring if there is a malfunction. He has put in new water saving toilets, replaced dripping shower fixtures, unclogged sinks and drains and made sure that my entire plumbing infrastructure runs smoothly and safely. In addition, Nick brings a lot of wonderful personal qualities to the trade. He is trustworthy and respectful. He has a great sense of humor. He can be counted on. Back in the day, I would refer to rare individuals, like Nick, as being “the salt of the earth.” He certainly embodies these precious qualities."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Canby, OR

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
