"The contractor came out to bid the job. The contractor and I discussed tearing off old roof and plywood and putting on all new plywood and shingles. Also, we discussed putting on a ridge vent, replacing any bad joists for $80 per joist. We agreed on a price of $9,800.00 and the job would be started Tuesday, October 29, 2024. On Tuesday morning I had to call the contractor and see where the crew was. They cancelled for the day because it rained that morning. Wednesday morning the contractor called and said they werent going to be out today, but a crew showed up and started work. The crew stated that it was a last minute decision. The crew worked on the roof and stated they only replaced three bad spots on the roof. I contacted the contractor and she stated that was all that was bad. The crew kept working and returned to finish on Thursday. Half way through the day I was showing my helper the dip in the roof and told the crew to stop working and to get the contractor out to the job. The crew decided to come off the roof and got into my parents and my face yelling and screaming calling us "niggers" and threatening us and showing us that they had a gun. The police were called and the contractor came out and said we were lying about having the joists fixed at an additional cost. So I hired two people to help fix the joists on Friday, November 1st. On Thursday I went on the roof and there was no felt paper in some areas also, boots were not replaced. Thursday evening one of the roofers came out to finish putting down felt paper since it was going to rain. Saturday after the joists were mended the roofer came out and finished shingling the roof. No ridge vent was installed and the plywood was not all replaced as quoted. The contractor came to make us aware that the job was done, but we were not home and they went next door to my parents house to tell them to make us aware that the roof was complete and that the dumpster was to be picked up Monday, November 4th. The contractor called and scheduled to meet with me at 9am to go over the roof and to collect the rest of the payment. The contractor did not show at 9am. After waiting 30 minutes I went to work. My wife called and said that the contractor came by about 10:10am and was looking for me to collect the payment. My wife stated that I was not there and went to work and that we did not have the check. The contractor called and stated that they were running behind and that they cannot do scheduled times to meet. They were requesting that we left the check in an envelope in the door if we were not able to meet."

"sales practices are deceptive. My sales rep came to the house and evaluated my roof. I had no illusions that my roof was in good shape. It needed to be replaced. Victors touts themselves as roof specialists and will give an “honest” evaluation of your roof. I am sure you have seen the commercials. My rep went into the crawl space, on the roof, and presented photos of the roof. The cost was high, and my wife and I said no to the original offer but when they came down in price by $6,000.00, we agreed to the contract. This is where they got us. The price included three sheets of wood but any wood on top of that would be $85.00 per sheet. I asked our rep if he thought all of the wood on our roof would need replacing, and he said no. He said one side of our roof needed replacing but the other side of the roof was good and did not need replacing. But I knew that they would have to replace the wood on part of my roof. I knew this because other companies told us the same thing. Fast forward to the installation. The foreman showed me one board to be replaced and said others would need replacing as well. I told him that I knew some boards would need replacing. When we got to the end of the installation, they informed me that they had replaced all of the wood. Seventy-Three sheets. I was never under the impression that all the wood would need to be replaced. I requested photographs of my roof to justify all of the wood being replaced. They sent photos and only one photo showed one piece of wood with mold. I informed them that I felt scammed. I was told they reviewed the photos and stood by their decision and apologized that the rep did not set the expectation. I brought to their attention that they evaluated that all of my wood needed replacing from photographs but their roof specialist who was in my crawl space, on top of my roof, and told me all the wood did not need replacing could not tell me that all the wood needed replacing. I am now responsible for you guessed it $6,000.00 in wood replacement. Convenient? Suspicious? Yeah. They are shady. I am sure it is also a pure coincidence that after I put down my deposit the balance is almost the exact amount we qualified for in financing plus $700.00. So, beware of Victors. Good product but you will pay for it, and they will deceive you out of every penny you qualify for."
