"This company is a family business. As soon as you meet Marcos you can tell he understands exactly what the customer needs. Marcos, his brother Ruben, and Diego gave us the neatest paint job possible. Their attention to details is amazing. They took the greatest care painting most of the inside of our house while we lived in it. At all times they treated us and our home with respect instead of a construction site. Donâ t hesitate to hire them for your paint job, youâ ll get a good deal of value for your money on every level."

"When you hire someone to work on your home, you need them to have two critical qualities: 1 - They must be highly skilled at their craft. 2 - They must be someone you can trust—around your family, your property, and your time. Saul and his crew check both boxes without question. His work is excellent—detailed, precise, and clearly done by someone who takes pride in their craft. He doesn't cut corners, he doesn’t rush jobs, and he never sacrifices quality. On top of that, Saul is reliable, communicative, and true to his word. His pricing is fair, his timeline was accurate, and he kept every promise he made. He showed up on time, worked hard every day, and made sure everything was done right. If you’re looking for someone who will treat your home with care and deliver outstanding results, Saul is exactly who you want."

"SD Pro Painting just completed the exterior repaint of our house in PB, and we canâ t say enough positive things about the owner Marco Reyes and his crew, who simply did a fantastic job! We quoted the work with three different companies, and Marco was the only one educating us on paint choices and process. His quote was the most comprehensive, and once hired, it was followed through in every way and beyond. We have nothing but accolades for Marco and his teamâ s workmanship, communication skills, time management, cleanliness, integrity, and follow up. They even came back three days after the job was complete to help us mount a light fixture that we had decided last minute to replace."

"After reading all of these fantastic reviews, I wish that I could submit another just like it. I do agree with a lot of what's been written about Adhesion Painting: on time, responsive, respectful, and clean throughout the project. My husband and I have done a lot of home renovation and those attributes are critical and rare no question. Our issue with Adhesion Painting began after the project was complete. Geoff and his team painted our interior ceilings, walls, cabinets, and baseboards (May 2017 completion) and exterior trim (July 2017 completion). A very short time after the job was done, we started to notice that paint was cracking and peeling in a few areas at a time: inside a laundry room cupboard; bathroom ceiling; areas surrounding two skylights; hallway ceiling outside the master bedroom. The front door started peeling within a day or two of the completion of the job. We've been busy with other home projects, but we made contact with Geoff to ask him to take a look, and he stopped by last weekend. As I took him around to show him the areas mentioned, he was responding with a quick, Uh-huh. Uh-huh as if to say, well, sure it's cracking and peeling all right. As I lead Geoff down the hall, from behind me, he asked, Did you guys really expect me to come back here and fix all of this for free?” Actually, I don’t know exactly what we expected at that point. We were hoping to at least open a dialogue, and we had to have him see the areas of concern to do that. I certainly was NOT expecting a condescending response and a snippy attitude from someone to whom we had paid thousands of dollars just barely a year ago. We weren’t wrangling for a free paint job after a house full of kids had been knocking against the walls for 10 years. After we toured the problem areas, Geoff explained that he and his crew did everything right with regard to prep: quality product, appropriate process, required chemicals, etc. He simply didn't know why the paint was peeling; it just happened sometimes. Geoff explained that with “these old houses, you never know what's on those walls could be water base, over oil base, over water base, etc. Sometimes paint just doesn't stick. He couldn't say why, and told me that any other painter would tell me the same thing. So there I was, standing with Geoff in my foyer, with the idea that some people are just meant to have peeling paint in their homes, like when you buy a car and it turns out to be a lemon. Geoff then explained that the previous homeowner’s son told him that he was doing some projects around the house for his mother so, “who knows what that guy might have put on the walls (The previous owner of our home used Adhesion to paint the exterior and master bathroom walls. That's how we found Geoff.) Couple of points on Geo's response: 1. This is a 1990 track home. It's not a turn of the century Victorian, where you might very well see oil base paint, on top of water base,"

Small jobs welcome

"Alex painted all of our stucco last year and while he was here he told me he could do our driveway. I ended up giving him redoing our driveway and all and all it was HUGE project. Then less than a year after different parts of the driveway paint started to peel. I have asked him to come since March 3rd to repair and he promised several times he will show up. Never did. Never takes my calls and after having called him multiple times I got a text from him this morning that he will let me know when he has time! Here are the screenshots. Very disappointing. I thought I had found a reliable painter but he doesn?t stand behind his with. I don?t recommend this business"

Customers say: True professional

"Leo was very helpful and quick to respond. We’re happy with how our 2 bathrooms turned out. Project was completed within the time promised. Our only complaint is that the workers did not clean up very well. But overall, we’re satisfied and we’ll use them again. "

FAQs for cabinets refinish projects in Carlsbad, CA

To find the best cabinet refinishing expert for your project, start by researching local pros and reading reviews from previous customers. Reach out to a few contractors to discuss your cabinets' size, condition, and the look you're aiming for. Don't hesitate to ask for references or examples of their past work. Speaking with previous clients can give you valuable insights into the pro's workmanship and reliability.

When speaking with potential cabinet refinishing pros, consider asking them several questions to gauge their experience and professionalism. These questions can help you gauge the pro's experience and determine if they align with your needs.

  • Do you offer a guarantee on your work?

  • Can you create custom finishes or colors?

  • Do you have examples or samples of your past projects?

  • Are you able to match the finish to other cabinets in my home?

  • How long will the project take from start to finish?

Regular care will help maintain the beauty of your cabinets for years to come. To keep your refinished cabinets looking their best, follow these steps:

  • Use gentle cleaners: Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that can damage the finish. A simple mixture of warm water and mild dish soap works well.

  • Clean carefully: Instead of spraying solutions directly onto the cabinets, apply them to a soft microfiber cloth and wipe gently.

  • Protect from heat and moisture: Try to minimize exposure to excessive heat or moisture, which can affect the finish over time.

It's usually less costly to refinish cabinets than to replace them, depending on the cabinet condition. Refinishing cabinets cost an average of $3,114 while replacing cabinets is about $5,000 or more. When deciding to refinish or replace cabinets, consider several factors, including how old your cabinets are, your budget, and whether you need to complete any other renovation projects at the same time.

It may be worth resurfacing (also known as refacing) your cabinets if they’re in good shape but you’re interested in a different look. This is often less expensive than replacing cabinets outright and can allow you to update the look of your cabinets to reflect your kitchen’s current style without having to get rid of them entirely. The cost to reface cabinets is around $4,300 to $10,000, and you can hire a local cabinet refacing pro to handle this work.

Refinishing cabinets takes about two to three days to complete. The process begins with removing cabinet doors, drawers, and hardware, followed by cleaning, stripping, and sanding the surfaces. Any chips, stains, or splits are repaired before applying paint or stain. After applying the finish, the cabinets are reassembled, and the workspace is cleaned up, leaving your cabinets refreshed and renewed.
