Our highly skilled roofing team is proficient in installing all types of sloping roof systems from tile to metal roofs and all types of single ply and TPO roofing systems for flat roofs. With one of the largest sheet metal shops in the area, we manufacturer custom metal for our projects.

"Worst experience in my life. This is truly a bad business. Out of four proposals I received, I mistakenly chose R&R Industries, Inc. Roofing consultant, who claims to be an expert, Jeff Prater, had his crew re-roof my home. He provided the service using low quality materials and he was unable to pitch my Florida room. The City of Daytona did not pass inspection, so he had to redo the Florida room. When he was done trying to pitch the Florida room for the second time, I asked for the opinion of the work performed to another roofing company. This is what they found: "Contractor used a 1/8" tapered system instead of the 1/4" system that is required to get the proper slope for adequate drainage from the low slope roof. Flat roof material was dead ended into the wall using L flashing to terminate instead of turning material up the wall with K flashing. Galvanized drip edge was used on the entire roof (pitch and low slope) and should have been aluminum due to proximity to brackish body of water. Shingle nails used should be stainless steel due to brackish water proximity. Sales representative responsible for the contract should have informed customer about proper materials (aluminum drip edge and stainless steel roofing nails) due to brackish water proximity and presented customer with option to upgrade contract to recommended materials." The president of R&R Industries, Inc., Guy Beasley, asked me to set up meeting with the company that pointed out their shoddy work. The day of the meeting both president Guy Beasley and contractor Jeff Prater were incredibly disrespectful to the other roofers and they ended up insulting them in front of me. When I told the President I was not happy about the galvanized nails and drip edge they used, because of the salt in the air since I live between the river and the ocean and because I was under the impression they were looking out for my best interest, his response was that it was my job to conduct research. How was I supposed to know they would use low quality materials? Jeff Prater was so insulted about his shoddy job being point out and the fact that he did not pitch my Florida room correctly that he cut two holes on the roof of my Florida room without consulting me first. I ALMOST FAINTED when I realized what he had done!! Now I have to look at the two ugly circled patches on my Florida roof every time I open my window. They also did a horrible job around the structure of the chimney where it meets the roof and all around it. It is visible from across the street. I am pretty sure water is seeping in around the structure. They also failed to replace rotted wood. President Guy Beasley left meeting he had asked me to set up with the other roofers very upset. Roofer of the other company wanted to show Jeff Prater other issues he had spotted on the roof but Jeff Prater became so upset he started mocking the gentleman by repeating what he had said in the gentleman's accent, which happens to be Hispanic. I heard it, I have witnesses, and I found it extremely offensive. I will hire somebody to fix the chimney because I do not want to deal with these individuals. I know that I will need to replace the roof soon. They only gave me a five year warranty and never handed me the warranty for the shingles so I can register them. Guy Beasley told me he would give me a 15 year warranty only if I signed a cease and desist letter. I don't think any reputable business would have any of its customers sign a cease and desist letter. Very shady!! During a phone conversation, Guy Beasley told me he would have never used electro-plated galvanized roofing nails for his home and he also said he could not understand how they passed inspection. I had never felt so humiliated in my life!"

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Cassadaga, FL

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
