"Kings general contractor installed a large piece of hardware for me and fixed the crown molding in my kitchen that was falling off. Both installs were done with the resale of my home in consideration. I am very happy with quality and timeliness of the work. I talked to them that morning and the work was completed the same day. I will definitely work with them again."

"I am significantly behind in providing a review for work done by this vendor. I hope I did not cause others to have a similar experience. I hired Virginia Top Floors to sand and stain @ 500 square ft. of floor. My project was done in the late November/December time frame of 2021. My initial dealings with Ileana were very good. She arrived at the scheduled time and provided a well written and understandable estimate. On the day work was scheduled, her crew arrived on time and seemed professional. The work progress seemed very reasonable; she had a two-person crew come out. The main worker (Craftsman) seemed to know what he was doing and ran the sander for the majority of the job. What I cannot understand and was concerning is why the helper took over using the drum sander in an area where there are multiple corners and short runs. Unfortunately, my concerns became reality. After the workers finished sanding and applied the stain – they looked like they were going to just leave. I asked why the floor looked uneven and was told it had to dry. The next day Ileana asked how it looked and I told her she really needs to come out and check. The hallway portion of the job was horrible. It looked like the sander dug into the wood at uneven angles all over the hall way. Ileana was there for not even 5 minutes before she acknowledged they needed to come back out and fix the floor. The Senior worker came out the following Saturday and worked the majority of the day trying to hand sand the wavering floor. He might as well have sanded the moon’s surface. Now the floor looked like it had dunes on it with the tops flattened. Again I asked why it still looked so rough and once again was told it was wet. The next day when I questioned Ileana about this, she kept indicating that you can only sand it one more time and it’s as good as it will get. I decided to wait and address this again after the holidays (big mistake). The result of Virginia Top Floors work on my hallway is infuriating, a dismal example of shotty workmanship. I was not surprised that she did not ask for a review, at that time. After the holidays, I received an email from Virginia Top Floors asking for a review. Here is the email string. Dear Jeremy: We hope you're doing well and with a couple of minutes to spare from your busy schedule. We were thrilled that you were happy with the newly refinished floors and though perhaps you could help us out. It would mean the world to us if you could give us a few minutes of your time to write a short review of our services. To do so, simply click on any of the links below and write away! A few points that seem to be relevant to clients like yourself are, expertise, quality of work, cleanliness, adherence to timetable and estimates, and work team. You can write a review through one portal, or write a review and paste it on all the ones you deem relevant. Angies List Google Yelp We greatly appreciate your time as your review helps other clients find the service they need while helping us grow. With gratitude, My Response: Ileana, It is interesting that you have asked for a review of your services. I have been struggling with how to write a review for your services for the past two+ months. We are very happy with 90% of the work. The 10% leaves me frustrated and aggravated EVERY morning. When I enter the hallway (which you tried to fix), I see a floor which is nowhere near flat. There are ripples or what would look like "dunes" with the high points attempted to be sanded down. Unfortunately, as the floor dried this ripple effect became extremely noticeable. I truly wish I had waited a while before accepting the job. I am not sure if anything can be done or would be done but that 10% truly stops me from writing the review I would like to. Virginia Top Floors: Hi Jeremy: Totally understand. I'm so sad to learn this as it has been a few months since the completion of the work and any new correction will end up with a color and finish difference that will not match the existing floors. Sincerely, Ileana What upsets me the most, is these people are supposedly professionals. They come in and try to correct the damage their helper did to my floor with dismal results. These people knew exactly how bad my floor was even after trying to correct it, yet they let it be. My review for Virginia Top Floors is basically “buyer beware”. They were pleasant to deal with and did a decent job on the straight forward sanding and staining. They did come out to try and fix the significant blunder of the helper but the simple fact that they had to know how bad the floor was and is – it’s inexcusable and a lasting legacy to the quality of the work performed."

"We are doing some remodeling on our kitchen. We did everything except the backsplash. We finally found the tiles we wanted (4" hexagons) and we tried lowes but if we didn't buy the tiles there, they wouldn't do it. (Lowe's also didn't have these tiles!). We came to angi and we found zvision remodeling and Eddy was the person who came to install our beautiful backsplash. He was at our house for 4 days. (He came in over the weekend, too). He took his time and did a great job! Highly recommend! Thank you, Eddy!!!"

"Wow! Look at the hardwood flooring we had installed on 4-15-24 on the stairs and the whole second floor. It only took 2 days! I got 2 other quotes from well-known companies. The estimates for the exact same job were $18,473 and $22,250. The company with the highest quote was very nice and informative. He told me his crews have been with him for 20 years. I was tempted, but just couldn’t pay close to double the price. The 3 man crew that came Monday worked FAST. The lead man has been with his boss for exactly 20 years, since he was 16 years old. He did all of the stair work, beautifully. The second day he came alone and finished the job. We Love our new floors!"

Refinishing a wooden floor is one type of repair. For example, pros often refinish hardwood floors to repair scratches. They'll remove the top layer with a sander and put a new layer of stain and sealant on it. For wooden floor issues, such as water damage, cupping, or unevenness, you're likely looking at a different repair method, like sanding, applying wood filler, or leveling the floor.
How you repair damaged wood floors will depend on the cause of the damage. Typically, damaged wood floors are either refinished or replaced, depending on the extent of the specific issue and the recommendation of a local hardwood floor installer. Common ways to repair hardwood floors include sanding, refinishing, or completely replacing the damaged wood floors.
Consult a wood flooring professional to determine if you need to replace your floors. A pro can tell you if you can refinish what you have or if you need to replace it. While hardwood floors can be expensive, they can last for generations with proper maintenance. So you may opt to repair rather than completely replace your wooden floors.
The best way to protect your hardwood floors from water damage is to keep water away from them. Remember that prevention is better than action. You can proactively keep moisture away from your floors by inspecting your pipes annually and monitoring the humidity levels in your home. In addition, consider using rugs to protect your wooden floors and clean up spills as soon as they happen.
Most engineered hardwood floors have a wear layer, which means you can sand it down once or twice. Otherwise, repairs mean replacement, with engineered wood floors costing around $2,000 to $7,000. Consult a professional specializing in engineered wood to determine if your flooring should be repaired or replaced.
Yes, you can fix hardwood floor gouges using a high-quality wood filler. Begin by thoroughly cleaning the damaged area and removing any debris. Then, fill the gouge with matching wood filler, smooth it with a putty knife, and let it cure completely. Once dry, lightly sand the area and apply a finish that blends with the surrounding wood.
