"S & M were very punctual about estimating and scheduling the work. When I started talking to them about why the steps needed replacement and what they could do to keep it from happening again - He already had a plan to overcome the sinking issue. <br /> The craftsmanship of the layout of the walk was exactly as I asked for and work was excellent. <br /> There was a little concrete slop left in the driveway which dried and was never cleaned off - however I did not contact them to come and fix it.  I am sure they woild have. I would highly recommend them for any work of this sort. <br />"

"The owner, John, was prompt at scheduling an appointment and providing an estimate.  John was friendly and answered all my questions without making me feel rushed or that I was wasting his time.  Once we agreed to have ClassiConcrete do the work, I asked John to provide me with a date and estimated start time, so I could plan accordingly.  Despite asking for this date multiple times, John's crew showed up unannounced and uninformed about what the project is they were supposed to doing (they started moving stuff out of the garage).  After I received a call that they were at the house starting the work and cleared up all the confusion, the crew worked did an overall okay job at pouring the new driveway and sidewalk.  However, once I was able to inspect the work, I noticed they had not moved any of the landscaping pavers, but rather just concreted over parts of them.  I called the owner to voice my frustration with the way the job was completed and ask that he propose a solution.  The owner agreed to visit the project review the issue, but then avoid my calls several days.  Ultimately, he finally sent his crews over to fix the issue about 2 weeks later.  While, overall the workmanship was good (other than the oversight of paving part of the landscaping), the lack of communication from the owner was extremely frustrating. <br /> While I <em>might</em> consider hiring ClassiConcrete again, I would have to set all the expectations upfront.  Plus, I would not agree to pay the remaining balance until I was able to inspect and approve the work. <br /> <br />"

"Johnson's met with us and our builder to discuss the best foundation for an outbuilding. They asked questions about what we would use the building for, any concerns we had, etc. and provided a prompt estimate. Their charges were exactly what the estimate was. They made several recommendations to correct drainage issues in the area and we love the results. The work was done on time and exceeded our expectations. Not only that, their recommendations resolved our drainage issues. We are extremely pleased and would use them again."

"For someone who is semi-retired, he sure works a lot!  And I cannot believe how hard he works and how quickly he completes the projects.  He worked every day until the project was done - that included weekends.  This is clearly back-breaking, strenuous work, but he does not seem to tire.  When he dug up and widened the sidewalk, he saved chunks of sod and suggested that we could use them to fill in around the concrete, which we did.  You'd never know the area was disrupted. As long as he continues to do concrete work, I won't hire anyone else for concrete projects. <br />"

FAQs for concrete driveways & floors installation projects in Central City, IA

Polished concrete floors offer many benefits with very few drawbacks. While issues like discoloration, stains, or imprints may occur during pouring, these are rare when working with a skilled flooring contractor. Once polished, concrete floors are easy to maintain, long-lasting, and eco-friendly. They also resist mold and moisture, making them ideal for allergy-prone households, and offer versatile design options for both indoor and outdoor use.

Polished concrete flooring is often more affordable than tile. It involves lower material costs and less labor-intensive installation. Tile installations require additional leveling and preparation, which increases labor costs. Opting for concrete flooring helps reduce upfront expenses and provides a durable, stylish finish that saves money over time with minimal maintenance.

While epoxy flooring offers enhanced durability and toughness compared to polished concrete, it comes with higher material and labor costs. If budget is a top priority, polished concrete floors provide a resilient and attractive finish without the premium price tag, making them an ideal choice for value and long-term performance.

Polished concrete floors last 20 years or more when installed by licensed professionals and maintained with proper care. Their enduring finish withstands heavy use and remains visually impressive for decades. Regular deep cleaning and maintenance help safeguard the floor’s integrity, providing homeowners with a long-lasting, cost‐effective solution that endures daily wear without compromising style.

Polished concrete floors increase home value by offering a modern, sleek appearance and exceptional durability. A professionally installed floor not only enhances visual appeal but also minimizes maintenance expenses, making the property more attractive to prospective buyers. This flooring upgrade delivers a refined look while boosting overall market competitiveness and long-term property value.
